We’ve got a Florida Bombshell! Check out 26-year-old Brittany:
She says, “I am from Miami, Fl., but currently reside in Tampa, Fl.”
” I would describe my style and a mixture of classy, chic and edgy.”
” I style myself in order to display a modest yet fashionable way for young women to dress.”
” My style is to show women that they can be sexy and fashionable without showing too much.”
Yes, Brittany! Loved that fringed skirt.

So Fall is here! Stash those sandals and sundresses away, and ready yourself for plaid, leather, and fringe!
I’m preparing our Fall Trends post as I type, but first, let’s get some Wardrobe Inspiration from our endlessly talented resident stylist Danielle Nicole aka @StyleisMyObsession!
Brush off your black turtleneck, and pair it with a plaid skirt and thigh high boots for a daytime rendez vous. Stash your cash in a money green Birkin, and throw on a vest and pearls to complete your look (keep clicking the ‘right’ arrow in the widget for options for less).
Carry monochrome tones over into the cooler months, and don’t be afraid of hushed tones!
There you have it!
Lots of great looks (and looks for less!).
Which outfit is your favorite?

Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday, I watched a Sneak Peek of Empire’s 2nd episode, then chatted about it afterwards with Fox 5 NY’s Simone Boyce.
Episode 2 is juicy! You can expect even more celeb cameos, plot twists, and violence. And of course Cookie looks cute!
Both Simone and I wore bright colors to commemorate Cookie, with Simone in an ASOS red cape and yours truly in a Fausto Puglisi sweater, Zara faux leather skirt, and Prada sandals.
Tune in to see us on Fox 5 this Wednesday after Empire in New York. Not in NYC? Check it out on their YouTube channel here.
*I later switched from my Prada heels…
To Rihanna x Puma creepers…
Yep, I got a pair. And they’re so comfy!
Which do you prefer, heels or sneakers?
*Watch us chat it up here:
So, it’s official! Mariah Carey and MAC Cosmetics have joined forces to create her upcoming Beauty Icon Collection!
Although an exact day has yet to be announced, a few pictures from the singer’s campaign have made their way to the ‘net and fans are beyond excited.
That’s not all! Mariah die-hards can rest easy knowing that MAC is set to release a mini “preview” of Mariah’s collection this December – cue to Mariah’s All I Want Lipstick. The soft, neutral hue is perfect for the upcoming holiday season. And, it combines all the elements that are Mariah Carey – elegance, glamour and sophistication.
I’ll keep you guys posted as deets continue to roll in.
Though we did a post on how to pose like a star back in 2009 (dating myself!!), the rules of celebrity posing have changed!
While stars used to smile and even laugh on the red carpet, the smug mug is now more de rigeur. Two hands on your hips? Not so much. The key these days is to make it all look effortless. Take a look at a few tips.
1. Try not to smile–perfect your smize.
The reigning King and Queen of the Smize
Too cool for school? Too hot to trot? Yes, you got all dressed up to be there, and had your glam squad do it up! But that doesn’t mean you’re very happy to be there (reference Eddie Murphy from Coming to America).
The key to conquering any carpet these days is to smize. Smize for your life! And if you’re caught smiling, catch yourself and go back to scowling.
2. Keep your hands down…if you can help it.
Gone are the days of the two hands behind the back, two hands on the hip, or even hands behind the head (Beyonce did a little bit of everything for the Dreamgirls London Premiere in 2007).
2015 requires a little less showmanship. Let your arms relax by your side, and unleash that sultry gaze!
3. If you must do something with your hands, the one hand on the hip trick is universally flattering.
The one hand on the hip pose works and looks good on everyone. Use it, flagrantly!
If you want to switch it up, pop your hand behind your back. Boom! Flawless.
She woke up like this
4. One hand on hip not your thing? Two hands in front is a great option.
Two hands in front makes you look prim, pretty, and almost pensive. This is one of Uzo Aduba’s red carpet faves.
Janelle Monae also uses this trick a lot, usually to show off her rings, nail art, and/or clutch.
If you really want to go bold, cross your arms in front, to say “I mean business!!”
In my case, hands in front conceals problem areas. It works!
5. Play with your clothing.
Don’t know what to do with your hands? The world is your runway. Let those knife pleats billow in the wind.
This works particularly well if you have a dress with loads of fabric. Act like you’re in a wind machine and twirl, twirl, twirl!
Gorgeous!
6. Bend one knee or cross your feet in front
A pigeon toed stance can tarnish even the most flawless look.
Keep your legs in check by crossing your legs or making sure one knee is slightly bent.
7. Have fun!
While most celebs have posing down pat, it’s ok to break the mold and have a little fun! Jump for joy, kick one foot in the air, and laugh it up (but don’t laugh too hard– a camera catching you with your mouth wide open is never a good look.)
Otherwise, have a ball!
Those are a few tips I’ve gleaned from studying some of Tinseltown’s favorites.
Zendaya recently debuted her very own Barbie doll, wearing a replica of the Vivienne Westwood dress and the beautiful locks she rocked at the 2015 Oscars. She posted a photo on Instagram, saying “When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed. Thank you @barbiefor this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty.”
Many on Instagram offered their Congratulations and Kudos, including Nicki Minaj, who, on a picture of her Barbie from 2011, wrote, “Congrats on your doll, Zendaya! Did u know Barbie made me one a [couple] years back? It was such an honor & a HUGE surprise. Anyway, I love your doll’s hair! I love what it means for other little girls who will identify with it & be empowered. Continue to be proud of yourself girls!!!!! #Barbie.”
Instagram was not having it. Comments ranged from, “Why you Tryna steal a teenagers spot light? LOL” and “She makes it all about her,” to “You could have just said congratulations, but whatever.” Feeling the heat, Nicki then posted a side by side of her and Zendaya’s doll, typing, “?? @zendaya ?? they should have matching bff Barbie cars with the dream house to match. Love this.”
While Nicki did show Zendaya love, her post certainly skewed self centered.
What do you think?
Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing how Barbie continues to make brown, black, and frankly all girls everywhere feel even more empowered.
H&M recently unveiled a new campaign for its autumn collection this month, prominently featuring a Muslim model and blogger Mariah Idrissi wearing a hijab, a head scarf typically worn by observant Muslim women. This marks a rather powerful move by the Swedish retailer to display more inclusive representations of its global customer base in its branding. It is also a smart business decision as there are over 1.6 billion Muslim consumers worldwide, who constitute tremendous buying power for fast fashion brands like H&M. (International Business Times)
Another beauty collaboration has been announced — this time with songstress Solange and skincare brand Kiehl’s! Launching October 1st, a limited-edition package of Kiehl’s best-selling Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate will be available for sale at the Kiehl’s Flagship in New York, at The Grove, and online. You better believe this box has all the style of Solange, since she designed it herself and even more satisfying is that proceeds from the product sales will go towards donations for children’s education (via charitable partners DonorsChoose.org, 14+ Foundation, Inc, and Son of a Saint). Beauty deals are all over the news, including Rita Ora’s second collection with Rimmel London out now. This line is a bevy of stay-all-day lip glosses entitled “Oh My Gloss” available at quite accessible prices ($5.49 per tube) at Target! Plus Rita Ora dishes on her favorite ways to apply “Oh My Gloss,” her best travel tips, and hints at her future hair style. (Refinery29)
Armani is all about independence and quite frankly, its founder Giorgio Armani feels exactly the same way about the future of his eponymous luxury brand.“While I am alive, there will be independence,” Armani, who is currently 81, shared with the press following his Spring 2016 presentation during Milan Fashion Week. It is an incredible feat for Armani to have stayed independent this long given the potential deals he could have struck with major luxury brand conglomerates, such as LVMH in the past. We’ll be watching to see how his empire fares. (Business Of Fashion)
Gigi Hadid gave her body shamers an earful on Instagram the other day saying, “No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows. No, I don’t think I’m the best at any given show. Yes, I want to have a unique walk, but I also know I have to improve….Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment. I fit into sample sizes. Your mean comments don’t make me want to change my body, they don’t make me want to say no to designers who ask me to be in their show, and they definitely don’t change the designer’s opinion of me.”” Who knew poor Gigi was fielding so much hate! It seems no matter how beautiful or successful you are, people will always have something negative to say. Keep your head up Gigi! And keep on stomping! (W Magazine)
