Both ladies put a black top underneath. Alicia Keys opted for sandals while Tia rocked pumps.
Crafted of black crepe-faced silk charmeuse, Public School’s Lodi jumpsuit is cut with relaxed fit and surplice neck.
Not a super fan of the jumpsuit, but Tia makes it look cute!

Ralph Lauren is stepping down from the chief executive post of his eponymous empire. His replacement: Stefan Larsson, 41, who was a former H&M executive and president of Old Navy, part of the Gap Inc. portfolio. According to an interview with Ralph Lauren, 75, he will still remain active at the company as executive chairman and chief creative officer and Larsson will report to Lauren in the new regime. The benefit in this transition is Lauren’s continued presence to guide and inform its new CEO; Lauren also is the largest individual shareholder in his company, so even if he weren’t operating in a formal capacity, he would still wield quite a bit of influence. Bravo to what appears to be a smooth succession. (NY Times)
Kim Kardashian-West is giving credit for her rise to fashion style icon to her hubby Kanye. In a recent CNN interview, she admitted that Kanye “really changed everything.” She continued, “I remember one day, he brought me Carine Roitfeld‘s book and was like, ‘You should be studying this book, this is the fashion bible.’ I was like, ‘Who’s Carine?’ I knew nothing, and he said, ‘Watch, one day she’s going to style you.’” Talk about prophetic! The world’s largest beauty brands are more actively courting minority consumers and it’s about time! Here are the facts: in the U.S., “the multicultural demographic comprises over a third of the population, and their spending power is growing more quickly than the country’s average, according to a study by the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia.” If the inclusivity argument wasn’t strong enough, the economic one is certainly convincing historically white-oriented brands to change their tunes. This piece also lauds the growth of ethnic beauty brands, such as Iman Cosmetics, Fashion Fair, Black|Up, and Cover FX. (Business Of Fashion)
In today’s model news, Willow Smith was recently signed by The Society Management, the same modeling agency that represents Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima, and Toni Garrn. After making the cover of i-D Magazine and being named the newest face in a Marc Jacobs’ campaign, Willow is on her way to claiming her spot in fashion royalty. (Daily News)
The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Looks like another Hadid sibling will join the powerhouse sisters Gigi and Bella in their modeling endeavors. Anwar Hadid, their 16-year-old brother, was recently featured in an editorial in the October issue of Nylon magazine. It is still too early to call, but if Anwar wants to pursue modeling full-time like his sisters, he is certainly well-equipped to do so! (Fashionista)
His tonal grey wool jacket features a felted undercollar, notched lapels, non-functioning cuff buttons, a chest pocket, three front flap pockets, and double vent. His waistcoast boasts two front welt pockets and a grey satin back. His trousers showcase adjustable side straps, two side pockets, and back buttoned welt pockets.
If you don’t know much about Anthony Vaccarello, know this: he is the Belgian-Italian fashion designer behind countless red carpet looks for celebrities, such as Diane Kruger, Ciara, Nicole Richie, and Kelly Rowland. Plus, he was recently named creative director of Versus Versace (and took his first solo bow for the brand 11 days ago), so expect to see his sexy, celebrity-admired aesthetic even more exemplified moving forward. Vaccarello’s Spring 2016 RTW Collection brought its fair share of understated ‘va-va-voom’ and its oft-expected leg-baring, asymmetric silhouettes.
There was a militaristic edge to the mixed media jackets, oversized metal detailing, and structured suiting. Models were strong, self-assured, and dare I say again … quite comfortable. Perhaps gone are the days of super tight, overtly sexy ensembles? High slit skirts were still present, but styled with a sheer and patterned long-sleeved top. The dresses with high slits were almost longer or had a higher collar, so as to give the illusion of being more covered up than exposed.
It wouldn’t be a Vaccarello show if not for some graphic element. Vaccarello had experimented with graphic text overlay on fabric in previous shows, but this time he opted for an artistic rendering of model Anya Rubik‘s face on a number of pieces, including varied dresses and tops. The rendering was not printed, but actually beaded onto the fabric and it had a compelling effect on the runway.
Notable additions to this show were his emphasis on denim and his very first bags; both are important components to a collection as they can often be offered at a more accessible price point for consumers. The denim was mostly high-waisted, form-fitting, and featured metal enclosures at the ankle. The bags ranged from a black leather clutch to a few cross-body styles. Some of my must-have pieces were the grey and black skirts and dresses worn by Binx Walton and Jamie Bochert, in particular. These asymmetric looks were equally sultry and effortless.
Curious about how things looked backstage? Here are my favorite exclusive behind-the-scenes shots from photographer Freddie Rankin:
In all, Anthony Vaccarello seems to be growing with his female consumer, offering her all the seductive elements of dressing with the ease of experience.

Yesterday, I watched a Sneak Peek of Empire’s 2nd episode, then chatted about it afterwards with Fox 5 NY’s Simone Boyce.
Episode 2 is juicy! You can expect even more celeb cameos, plot twists, and violence. And of course Cookie looks cute!
Both Simone and I wore bright colors to commemorate Cookie, with Simone in an ASOS red cape and yours truly in a Fausto Puglisi sweater, Zara faux leather skirt, and Prada sandals.
Tune in to see us on Fox 5 this Wednesday after Empire in New York. Not in NYC? Check it out on their YouTube channel here.
*I later switched from my Prada heels…
To Rihanna x Puma creepers…
Yep, I got a pair. And they’re so comfy!
Which do you prefer, heels or sneakers?
