The fourth episode of Empire’s second season is going down in a little over an hour! To whet your appetite, we have some sneak peeks of what the characters will be serving up in the fashion department!
Cookie loves to go bold, thus it was no surprise to see her decked out in head-to-toe Moschino Resort 2016 red leather pieces with chain-link detailing.
Cookie stuck to the collection’s styling, adding in some blunt bangs for that signature Lyon edge.
Last, but not least is the Empire patriarch, Lucious Lyon who is forever draped in an expertly-tailored suit. One of his choices for the latest episode was a navy pairing from David August. He accented his look with Saint Laurent boots and a pocket square from the brand which gets a lot of play on the show already: Tom Ford.
Her black and green midi dress features sheer loop detailing, a mock neckline, short sleeves, darts at the bust, a sheath silhouette, straight hem, and is lined at the bust and hips.

Fall calls for an infusion of leather and suede, and no one knows that more than our resident stylist, Danielle Nicole aka @StyleIsMyObsession. Whether you slip on a buttery leather jacket, rock lambskin pants, or suit up in an all suede ensemble, the options are endless!
Take a look at a few fun ideas to get inspired:
Slip on a brown hued top with white flared pants, punched up by Tom Ford padlocks. Bordeaux nails, and a wide brimmed hat, are sure to add an upscale allure.
Pair a pussybow blouse with a suede pencil skirt, and finish with an asymmetrical zip black jacket.
Happy Wednesday!

The brand tapped me as a fashion expert to talk to attendees about the myriad ways you can use JOHNSON’S® Baby Oil Gel, Baby Powder, hand & face wipes, and more!

The 2016 Met Gala theme has been announced!”Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” is the subject matter for the forthcoming exhibition, aimed at showcasing the separation between handcrafted haute couture and factory-made designs. Serving as co-chair is none other than Idris Elba who will share the distinction with Sir Jonathan Paul Ive, KBE: a British designer and the Chief Design Officer of Apple Inc.
Of the theme, Costume Institute curator, Andrew Bolton stated, “Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and prêt-à-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made”. He continued, “But recently this distinction has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other.”
On display will be more than 100 haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces—sometimes juxtaposed against one another for startling effect. Honorary co-chairs include Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Miuccia Prada, and Taylor Swift. Apple is continuing their foray into the fashion industry by sponsoring the gala and exhibition.
Stay tuned for more info! The big event goes down on May 2nd.
What do you think of the Met Gala’s 2016 theme and Idris’s role as co-chair?
