Oh my gosh! I’ve been bogged down with midterms this week and I’m itching for a break. Although it’s been hectic, I’m still looking forward to finishing out the semester. But, anywho, let’s get into some of our favorite looks!
Actress Tia Mowry-Hardrict was on hand for the Truth LA screening while rocking a black and white double breasted tuxedo jacket and pants by Neil Barrett. She also uplifted Sergio Rossi pointed cap toe pumps and a sleek ‘do. Chic!
Slay-Lo just gets it, doesn’t she?! The American Idol judge struck a pose with a fierceness as she gave all kinds of life in an ivory David Koma number. Her dress features a thigh-high slit and a fitted silhouette. She also topped off her look with a pair of Casadei sandals. Werk!
The lovely Ciara flaunted some serious skin at the New York premiere for The Last Witch Hunter in Solace London‘s Ferrara dress. The bodycon maxi serves up tons of sultriness and even boasts a low-cut back. She looks amazeballs!
Selena Gomez hit the streets in style while rocking a black turtleneck dress by David Koma. Her look borders along the lines of edgy yet conservative while showcasing the perfect amount of skin. The starlet accessorized with Dior sunglasses and black Jenni Kayne mules. I’m here for it!
So, break it to me. Which fashionista gets your vote this week?
Alesha Dixon was the lady in red at the 40th birthday party of comedic duo and TV personalities Ant & Dec across the pond. For the occasion, she wore the same $1,695 Cushnie et Ochs Red Bandeau Jumpsuit Diane Kruger originally sported last month:
The accessories and hairstyles here were the difference between both looks: Alesha opted for her sleek long bob and red sandals, while Diane chose an updo, a black and gold clutch, and black sandals.
The red stretch cady jumpsuit features bandeau styling, a figure-skimming fit, and straight legs.
Supermodels, actresses, and one of fashion’s most powerful women were on hand at the Ninth Annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards. Each and every lady was clad in Michael Kors: draped in glamorous pieces that demonstrated his design prowess.
Let’s see what they wore!
A silver and suntan embroidered dress, matching silver Jacqueline sandals, and a silver python Resort 2014 barrel clutch were Grace Mahary’s choices for the evening. This was fab.
The Good Wife actress Cush Jumbo was pretty in pink in an embroidered mikado cutout dress with suntan Jacqueline sandals, and a $350 Geranium Python Leyla Clutch. I need to see her out and about more often!
Maria Borges glowed in a navy strapless embroidered Fall 2015 dress, $550 Black Doris Sandals, and a $223 Elsie Clutch. Isn’t she gorgeous?
Shanina Shaik was the lady in red in a crimson cutout Spring 2016 dress, nude Doris sandals, and a matching crimson barrel clutch. Hot!
Fei Fei Sun was gilded in a gold paisley fil coupé Fall 2015 dress and a complementary $648 Pale Gold Leyla Clutch.
Kate Hudson slipped on a custom-made black and white embroidered halter dress from the brand. Does she ever have an off day?
Diane Kruger is always one of my faves on the red carpet and she did not disappoint in a lapis poppy print pleated Spring 2016 gown and a black studded Holiday 2015 Elsie clutch.
Emily Blunt’s look gave a glamorous spin to the LBD: a sequined mesh georgette Resort 2016 dress and $350 Black Jacqueline Sandals. Hot!
Anna Wintour and the man of the evening were all smiles, with the VOGUE EIC in a black and white floral fil coupé Spring 2016 dress. Queen Wintour’s looks can sometimes be a bit austere for me, but I loved the whimsy of this.
Jessica Hart shimmered and sparkled in a gold, copper, and silver paillette-embroidered Resort dress and those coveted Jacqueline sandals in gold.
Toni Garrn was white hot in a LWD from the brand.
Devon Windsor showed off her mile-long stems in a tulle and silk-crepe LBD with a coral and black Westcliff clutch.
Gabrielle Union has been heavy on the promotional train! She was spied in New York in a $1,400 pinstripe Chelsea coat and $575 shorts from Ji Oh’s Fall 2015 collection.
She completed with saucy sandals that I’m on the search for!

This era is ushering in a new generation of digital entrepreneurs, who are not only curating their online presence via social media, but also creating their own products! One at the forefront is Jai Nice, a 25-year-old Ohio Native and California resident, who has made a splash in cyberspace as creative director and owner of the e-store Kloset Envy.
Counting 718,000 followers on her personal Instagram @Jai_Nice, and 391,000 followers on her boutique’s Instagram, @KlosetEnvy, it’s natural to wonder just how Mrs. Nice does it!
We sat down with Jai a few weeks ago at Cipriani’s in Soho to talk fashion, entrepreneurship, and staying true to your personal style.
Jai says, “I’ve been into fashion since middle school. I’d always find an outfit, put outfits together, cut up something… any way that I can create an outfit and make it into something that would make me happy or I feel confident wearing, I would do it.”
She joined Instagram five years ago as a way to showcase her unique sense of chic. You’ll find her in anything from saucy bathing suits to ball gowns, with a litany of multicolored hairstyles to boot. She says, ” [The secret to my popularity and success is] originality. Being Myself. Not following trends. Setting them. Being confident, doing what makes me happy, wearing what makes me happy. Not trying to do what everyone else is doing. It’s all about what Jai likes, what Jai feels comfortable wearing, and Jai’s style. I’m not trying to fit in with everybody. I’m just being myself.”
She initially started her online store, Kloset Envy, as a way to sell second hand clothes. She explains, After I started selling vintage, and I built a customer base and a fan base, and then that’s when I started selling regular new tops, bottoms, dresses. I believe when I started selling, it was hot, so I starting selling maxi dresses and maxi skirts, to feel out my customer base, and see what kind of clothes they like. After that it just blew up.”
Kloset Envy stocks affordable items for the every day woman, and caters to all shapes and sizes. What gives Jai Nice her edge? The styling advice. She says, “I know a lot of people have trouble styling an outfit. So when I purchase items, I get the bottoms and shoes. I make it easier to show how to style and wear the items [I stock].“
Any tips for creating an online store? She says, “Learn your customers. Learn what people want. Learn what they feel comfortable wearing. And take it from there. I don’t go for fashion trends. When I’m styling and fashion buying for Kloset Envy, I put together what looks good and what looks different. I learned my customers. I didn’t just jump in head first–it took four years to build. It’s still building and I’m still learning. A lot of people don’t really understand the time and effort it takes to put together a website. You have to have a good product. You have to have good customer service. You have to have good things. [In an over saturated market] you have to have something different in order for someone to want to buy it.”
If you wanted to open a store tomorrow, Jai offers, “Do you research because it’s your passion. [Don’t do it] just because you want to make money. You have to know something about fashion to want to sell clothes. You can’t look at every fashion trend because fashion changes every second. If you try to keep up you’re going to get lost. Have your own mind and your own creativity to make yourself stand out from others.”
She continues, “Do your research. There are a million different places to buy pieces wholesale. Make sure it’s good quality. Don’t do it because it’s cheap. Sell good products and make your customer want to come back.“
For those who want to follow in her footsteps, she says, “Don’t just do it because you see someone else doing it and they look successful. Do it because it’s your passion. It’s ok to follow and be inspired. Don’t jump on a bandwagon because this is what you wanna do. Make sure you’re doing it for you.” Alright!

Being fit is always fashionable, and it really is never too late to get in shape! So I decided to participate in a Fall Fitness Challenge with personal trainer Christian Castano of Tribeca Health and Fitness (107 Chambers).
For the next 8 weeks, I plan to train with Christian 2-3 times a week, and work out on my own 2-3 days as well. With proper diet, my goal is to lose 20 pounds.
I’m not a couch potato, but 20 pounds? Geesh! I hope I can do it!
I’ll be taking pictures and video to document my journey.
Stay tuned!
How do you stay in shape?
