Happy Friday!
I’ve still recovering from the RMC–I can’t wait for the weekend to get some real relaxation! A handful of you guys sent in wardrobe queries, so I figured I’d take a crack at it.
Let’s go!
Jessica types, “I have searched the internet all last night (after their performance) and this morning for the chunky ankle boots Nicki and Beyonce wore for the Tidal concert last night.”
” You always know the details so I figured I’d put my search on hold and just ask you! Hope you can help! Thank you for your site! Love it daily! xo
Thanks! It took me a minute, but I found it! Nicki and Bey dipped it low in $790 Prada Lace Up Chunky Booties:
The lace ups have a 4″ chunky heel and a napa leather upper.
Lynda says, “Sometime last week Lorde posted some behind the scenes pictures for the ‘Magnets’ music video on her Instagram. This really gorgeous white cape jumpsuit was one of the outfits she wore in the video,I would love to get details on this please.”
” Thank you & keep the amazing work up!”
Yep! Lorde looked sultry in a Spring 2016 white caped jumpsuit by Michael Costello. See as similar piece below:
Lastly, in an Unsolved Mail Bomb, Martijn writes, “Hallo i really wanted to know what jacket rick ross is wearing ,i dont know if you could help me greetings .”
I’m not sure about this one! Though I do have an update on an older Rick Ross Mail Bomb. Someone asked about this denim/fur topper. Turns out the piece is by Michael Cherry:
Inquire here.
That does it for today!
Stay tuned for today’s Bomber and Bombshell, and even more Fashion Bomb Fabulosity!
Smootches!
Jennifer Hudson recently collaborated with New York & Company on her own pair of jeans that feature a high-rise and fits at the natural waist.
About the collab, Jennifer said, “For me, comfort is everything so I really appreciate the high waist and super soft feel of the jeans, and yet they still look amazing because of their curve-flattering fit. I’m excited to offer this curated collection of my favorite pieces to the New York & Company woman.”
As the face of New York & Company’s SoHo Jeans Collection, Jennifer’s new campaign images will also feature fall must haves including a button-front denim skirt, cozy sweater dresses, and edgy faux leather leggings.

Few take their brand ambassadorship duties as seriously as Ciara!
The songstress looked casually cute at a Meet and Greet for Topshop in a denim jumpsuit by the British brand:
Her exact jumpsuit isn’t available at Topshop, though this Moto Tie Waist option comes close.
Get it for $125 here. Peep a few more options below:
Temperatures have warmed up here in the Big Apple, for the time being at least. I don’t want to jinx it!
Celebs took to stylish photocalls, concerts, fashionable parties, and more this week in leg-baring mini dresses, high-fashion accessories, supremely feminine numbers, and chic jumpsuits.
Let’s see what they wore!
It was rather bittersweet to see Naomie Harris in a printed Dior frock at the Spectre photocall, given Raf Simons’s announced departure from the iconic fashion house today. The frock was great, though I would’ve loved a sleek ponytail or chignon here.
At the Janet Jackson Staples Center Concert, Zendaya Coleman kept it cute and casual in readers, an asymmetric hem mock-neck sweater, destructed denim, and rose-motif combat boots.
Uzo Aduba was pretty in pink at the One Life/Live Them Event in a ruffle-accented dress in the rosy hue.
Stylish sisters Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder were in attendance. I loved those rust-colored knee-high suede boots!
I live for each and every Lucy Liu sighting! She took to the party in a black strapless design with an embellished sweetheart neckline. Isn’t she gorgeous?
Last, but not least at the fête was Jackie Cruz in a polished black jumpsuit, given some flair with a classic milk maid braid. Her hair was everything!
Rock the Kasbah actress Leem Lubany was simple and chic in a lace LBD at the movie’s NY premiere. On the fence about her shoes here, but the dress was stunning.
A cobalt blue suit and beige coat thrown over her shoulders were Nicole Scherzinger’s choices while making an appearance on The Today Show. Hot!
Jamie Chung was spotted walking her dog in West Hollywood in a Fall-perfect white and black striped collarless coat, suede pencil skirt, and tassel sandals.
Closing out the week was Dascha Polanco in a strapless black jumpsuit at the 2015 PEOPLE En Español Festival. Her colorful flash tattoos were fun!
So my friend and fellow fashion lower, Tai Beauchamp, recently launched a hot new website called The Tai Life!
The website features personal essays from industry movers and shakers, and I was honored to contribute.
I chose to write a little something about battling body image in the fashion industry.
I wrote, “I’m a writer at heart, so I fused my love of prose and my passion for fashion to create Fashion Bomb Daily. And while I would’ve been happy just to sit and write to my heart’s content, I couldn’t help notice that my contemporaries were getting much more buzz by putting their faces at the forefront of their brands. So I decided to give it a go.”
I started off slowly, only revealing myself from the neck down. Finally, in a recap of my blog’s 1st year anniversary party, I put up a picture of myself. I thought my readers would embrace me, finally seeing the visage behind the brand, and most did. But I’ll never forget what one Anonymous poster wrote almost immediately: “You are very pretty Claire but you of all people should know better than to wear a shirt or dress that doesn’t fit properly. All I’m saying is in a lot of the your [sic] breasts are about to fall out of the your shirt, not cute at all.”
” When you put yourself ‘out there’ for the world to see, you instantly become a target for unsolicited, sometimes hurtful advice.”
…[But] By being myself and putting myself out there, I hope that I can give hope to all girls over a sample size, and show them that fashion is for them, too. On my blog, with my Bombshell of the Day feature, I make it a point to intersperse pictures of real women, whether plus sized, stick thin, or somewhere in between. I make sure to plant those images in between those of celebrities who look fabulous with the help of unlimited budgets, chefs, glam teams, and trainers.”
“Coming to a point of body and self-acceptance in the age of social media is difficult. But I hope my blog and my story can be serve as proof to all women interested in careers in style: Fashion is for everyone, no matter your size.”

Have you ever battled with issues of body image?
Raf Simons has stepped down from his post as creative director of Dior after three and half years in the position.
He said in a statement, “It is after careful and long consideration that I have decided to leave my position as creative director of Christian Dior’s women’s collection. It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work. Christian Dior is an extraordinary company, and it has been an immense privilege to write a few pages of this magnificent book. I want to thank Mr. Bernard Arnault for the trust he has put in me, giving me the incredible opportunity to work at this beautiful house surrounded by the most amazing team one could ever dream of. I have also had the chance over the last few years to benefit from the leadership of Sidney Toledano. His thoughtful, heartfelt and inspired management will also remain as one of the most important experiences of my professional career.”
Simons’s successor has yet to be identified, but the search is on! Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci seems to be in consideration.
Under his tenure, the brand has tapped a number of high wattage celebrity faces, including Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, and Rihanna.
Simons started off designing menswear, then made his mark in womenswear designing for Jil Sander in 2005. He joined Dior in 2012, and we look forward to seeing where he goes next!

Today’s Bombshell? Delieny from Jersey City, New Jersey:
She writes, “If I had to put a title to my style it would be Chic Minimalist.”
” When I was younger around early 20’s I used to want to make a statement with what I wore. I wore loud colors, and interesting pieces (to say the least), I really didn’t know what my style was or what I was trying to express with my outfit choices.”
” After a few years of wacky outfits, I found myself in my late 20’s looking back at pictures and saying, “WTF was I thinking?!””
“That “WTF” moment was a turning point for me, stylistically.”
” I never wanted to look back at myself and be embarrassed for what I wore, and it’s one of the guides I have given myself when shopping, will I look back at this and regret it?”
” If I have the slightest inclining towards yes, I put it down. Don’t get me wrong it’s okay to follow trends, but I keep it clean, classic and chic (3 C’s).”

Talia saw a few promo pix from Rihanna’s forthcoming gig on The Voice, and wanted to know about her denim separates.
She wrote, “I must have!! Where can I get her look?”
Rih Rih flaunted a curly ‘do and cascading necklaces, along with a $430 Marques Almeida Frayed Hem Corset Top and matching jeans.
Her corset has a side zip and a ruched back.
See her jeans in Almeida’s Resort 2016 collection:
She looks cute! Can’t wait to see her on the Voice.
Beyonce’s high pony is here to stay! Who plans on rocking the look anytime soon?
At any rate, Bey, her pony, and Jay Z went to see the Hamilton musical last night in New York, with Mrs. Carter in a 70’s chic red/orange velvet suit by Barbara Bui:
The piece debuted in Bui’s Fall 2015 collection. See the jacket here:
It also comes in a deep purple tone.
Cute! But a little tailoring on the pants would’ve been perfecto!
