H&M recently unveiled a new campaign for its autumn collection this month, prominently featuring a Muslim model and blogger Mariah Idrissi wearing a hijab, a head scarf typically worn by observant Muslim women. This marks a rather powerful move by the Swedish retailer to display more inclusive representations of its global customer base in its branding. It is also a smart business decision as there are over 1.6 billion Muslim consumers worldwide, who constitute tremendous buying power for fast fashion brands like H&M. (International Business Times)
Another beauty collaboration has been announced — this time with songstress Solange and skincare brand Kiehl’s! Launching October 1st, a limited-edition package of Kiehl’s best-selling Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate will be available for sale at the Kiehl’s Flagship in New York, at The Grove, and online. You better believe this box has all the style of Solange, since she designed it herself and even more satisfying is that proceeds from the product sales will go towards donations for children’s education (via charitable partners DonorsChoose.org, 14+ Foundation, Inc, and Son of a Saint). Beauty deals are all over the news, including Rita Ora’s second collection with Rimmel London out now. This line is a bevy of stay-all-day lip glosses entitled “Oh My Gloss” available at quite accessible prices ($5.49 per tube) at Target! Plus Rita Ora dishes on her favorite ways to apply “Oh My Gloss,” her best travel tips, and hints at her future hair style. (Refinery29)
Armani is all about independence and quite frankly, its founder Giorgio Armani feels exactly the same way about the future of his eponymous luxury brand.“While I am alive, there will be independence,” Armani, who is currently 81, shared with the press following his Spring 2016 presentation during Milan Fashion Week. It is an incredible feat for Armani to have stayed independent this long given the potential deals he could have struck with major luxury brand conglomerates, such as LVMH in the past. We’ll be watching to see how his empire fares. (Business Of Fashion)
Gigi Hadid gave her body shamers an earful on Instagram the other day saying, “No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows. No, I don’t think I’m the best at any given show. Yes, I want to have a unique walk, but I also know I have to improve….Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment. I fit into sample sizes. Your mean comments don’t make me want to change my body, they don’t make me want to say no to designers who ask me to be in their show, and they definitely don’t change the designer’s opinion of me.”” Who knew poor Gigi was fielding so much hate! It seems no matter how beautiful or successful you are, people will always have something negative to say. Keep your head up Gigi! And keep on stomping! (W Magazine)
According to their Instagram, the woman who wears the shirt, should have a, “Mind like Lauryn, Graceful like Aaliyah, Salacious like Erykah, & Fly like Solange.” Could there be a more fabulous combo?
Another day, another look from Selena Gomez! The songstress kept the promo train going at BBC Radio 1 Studios. This time, she donned a Marc Jacobs Resort 2016 Red Embellished Coat, Black Button Front Shirt, and Red Mini Skirt:
Her coat was paired with a black headscarf, red leather shoulder bag carried as a clutch, and black platform booties on the Resort 2016 runway.
One more great look under her belt! What will she wear next? Stay tuned!
Happy Monday folks!
I got another ‘hosting’ credit under my belt this past weekend when I hosted a Macy‘s Front Row Fashion Show at Garden State Plaza in New Jersey! I was juiced to host alongside my fellow Haitian-American Media Maven, Karen Civil.
We helped Macy’s usher out Fall Fashion Trends, including preppy inspiration, Bohemian chic, furs, denim on denim, and more. The line up included Macy’s brands Jessica Simpson, Thalia, Tommy Hilfiger, INC, and Levi’s.
I saw lots of pieces I loved, namely a few fun pelts from Macy’s Fur Vault.
I need that coat!
For the occasion, Karen and I were outfitted in Macy’s dresses, and styled by Macy’s MyStylists (did you know Macy’s offers free styling services?). At any rate, I was styled in a Robert Rodriguez Cowl Neck Sheath Dress; Karen also kept it colorful in a Rachel Roy Sydney Sheath Dress.
Seeing their lovely faces made me think: it’s way past time to start planning Cocktails with Claire!
We’re going to do it big this year, and will probably start in November. Stay tuned to this space for updates!

J. Lo’s American Idol slayage isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
She attended this show’s Denver edition this weekend in a $2,060 Mugler Fitted Cady Long Sleeve Dress and Casadei Blade Pumps in silver:
Her dress debuted in Mugler’s Resort 2016 collection:
Today we have a 2nd time Bombshell! Take a look at Alexus from Hartford, Connecticut:
She says, “I’ve been featured before I wanted to comeback and showcase some more of my style.“
” I’m still big into prints I love to feel feminine dresses are a staple in my wardrobe but I also like to switch it up too and add edgy fun pops to my wardrobe I love color.”
” I like anything bold I like to stand out.”
” I dress how I feel & most of the time I feel fabulous.”
” I’m all here for body positivity & being unapologetically myself.”

Hey all! Celebs were busy this week with fashion month still continuing (Milan Fashion Week coming to a close). But a few others were busy with other projects. And some even escaped the pandemonium to catch a few rays while on vacation. We’ve ogled their Instagram shots, but which stars shared their best? Let’s take a look!
First up is Jennifer Hudson, who sang her heart out duting a performance to honor The Pope during his U.S. visit. The songbird wore a strapless navy gown with a cape by Prabal Gurung. Hmm… maybe if the cape was a part of the dress and not a detachable piece, I’d be head over heels.
Next up is Naomi Campbell, who snapped a quick photo in front of her hotel before leaving Milan. How chic is she in her fedora, turtleneck peplum top and printed pants?
Ciara has not been stingy with the ensembles! The face of Roberto Cavalli, it’s only fitting she’d wear a custom gown by the house to an amfAR event in Milan on the weekend. She looked stunning, and those legs go on for days!
Cara Delevingne was all smiles at a press event for her latest film Pan. The supermodel turned actress wore a feather Burberry frock and caged sandals. Hot!
Next up is Christina Milian, who was snapped holding on to the last days of summer. She vacationed with family and friends in Bimini, The Bahamas while rocking a hot Ashearah Swimwear neon laceup one-piece and We Are Pop Culture sunnies. Get it, girl!
Last, but not least, and giving you BAWDY is Laura Govan. She slayed in a black Madame X halter pencil dress (flaunting major cleavage) and Casadei pumps. Hot!
