If you run back all of Janet Jackson’s many transformative and groundbreaking beauty moments, you’ll find yourself smiling perhaps a day or two from now: she truly does have that many gorgeous looks. From her showstopping ponytails in “Got Til It’s Gone” to her sleek, straight hair in “Pleasure Principle”, we could essentially go on and on about the way she’s reinvented herself throughout the decades. Here we shall, just a bit.

The simultaneous grace and power of her dance moves, the sweetness of her melodic voice that oft never reaches above a whisper, the strength of her chiseled abs and cheekbones: she’s a force to be reckoned with and a veritable icon. She’s experimented with every kind of fashion known to man from high-waist, skintight denim (thank you early 80’s and coming back around again now) to 70’s chic trenchcoats.

To say that her curves and skin are on fleek would be an understatement and Ms. Jackson (if you’re nasty of course) is a true testament to the dynamism of natural beauty: though we know she works hard for what she’s got, having been touring for more years than we care to count. Halloween just passed and over twenty years later, so many young women still dressed up as her character Justice in famed Poetic Justice—long box braids and all.

And though we write about trends day-in and day-out, Janet never has to abide by them: mostly because she’s in the business of setting them, effortlessly. She’s sensuality, vulnerability, art, and elegance all wrapped up into one.

A lady is said to never reveal her age, but when 49 looks this good, it’s something you should shout from the rooftops. She’s back at the top of the charts yet again with her latest album Unbreakable, taking it back to her soft auburn curls, statement-making jewelry, and loose trousers.

We’re locked in to everything that Janet does and it’s truly good to have her back, isn’t it?

Like so many of us, Hood By Air’s Shayne Oliver is in love with Empire and Lyon family matriarch, Cookie Lyon. “Everyone I know was inspired by that show,” Oliver told VOGUE.com. “Cookie’s a boss and doesn’t comply with any sort of male rules.” The brand even used her voice for the soundtrack of their Fall 2015 show, which is why the announcement that HBA will be creating the hit FOX TV’s show first collection of branded merchandise is so epic.

The pieces riff on the brand’s signatures, though they boast the visages of the series’ stylish characters including Jamal, Hakeem, and of course, Cookie. Everything from basketball-inspired shorts to skintight printed turtlenecks are featured in the assortment.

Of his inspiration, Oliver stated, “A lot of it is also references to things I grew up with, that are very specific to Queens. All the boys in the oversized Hot 97 Summer Jam tees, all the West Indian girls in the printed Gallianos and Moschinos.”

There may even be another set of designs in the future, but we’ll just have to wait and see. No preview of the price points just yet either, but they’re most likely going to be in line with HBA’s current price points: $560 for a short-sleeve logo dress, close to $200 for earrings, and at times over $1K for shoes and handbags.

Actress Lois Robbins took a risk in a Dior catsuit beloved by Marjorie Harvey and Anna Dello Russo. This is a hard look to pull off for most, and sadly, this jumpsuit didn’t do Ms. Robbins any favors…

Not sure what ballet dancer Mary Helen Bowers is doing in this picture, but it looks like she’s having fun!

Tyson Beckford matched the carpet in a well tailored hot pink suit. Hot!

Yolanda Foster supporter her daughter Gigi in a tonal gray look. I enjoy her style.

Tyga went for casual in a Tupac tee and ripped jeans.

Nick Cannon looked super snazzy in a lipstick pink suit and bedazzled silver slippers. I think he could’ve done away with just one accessory.

Instagram superstar Kristina Bazan skewed sultry in an LBD.

Socialite Caroline Vreeland looked brooding in black.

Lastly, Harley Viera Newton wore a Valentino Bambolina heart printed dress and Valentino red rockstud pumps. Cute!

I haven’t had the misfortune of losing my phone, though I definitely need a new one (right now, my phone is downloading a stranger’s pictures, I cannot figure out why!).
