On the Scene at the Cannes Film Festival: Coco Jones in Naeem Khan, Viola Davis in Valentino, Farhana Bodi in Atelier Zuhra & More

The most prestigious annual 76th Cannes Film Festival has finally arrived, and Hollywood’s brightest celebs made their debut on the red carpet in Cannes, France.

From the looks of it, based on all the couture gowns we saw, feathers will prove to be a huge fashion staple this year. From Viola Davis who took a calculated risk and wore all white with a feather off -the-shoulder coat, to Farhana Bodi who shone brightly in a lime green over the top feather gown, stars were doing dramatic swirls this week in their feather ensembles.

Viola, can do no wrong in our eyes and if you’ve ever read her book, “Finding Me: A Memoir,” you understand all that this woman has endured and overcome throughout her life. Her wearing all white was symbolic to her purity and felt almost ritualistic to new beginnings.

We adored her asymmetrical white Valentino gown underneath her feather coat and perhaps she’s never looked more beautiful.

Also opting for softer hues was singer CoCo Jones who left Mary J. Blige Strength of a Woman fest in Atlanta this weekend to attend another star-studded fest. She’s definitely on the move and with her undeniable talent and a face card that never declines, who could blame her?

CoCo Jones wore a Naeem Khan LTD custom design that included both pearl and stud embellishments and had feathers towards the bottom of her dress. Her matching embellished gloves were all the merrier.

Farhana Bodi is certainly on our best dressed list as she looked absolutely incredible and glamorous in her lime Atelier Zuhra gown that had an exaggerated train and brought all the drama we needed to the film festival.

Stepping a way from the feather trend, was actress Laura Harrier who looked timeless and sleek in a black maxi gown that was draped perfectly from the plunging neckline. Sometimes, less is more and that definitely was the case for Laura.

Ring the Alarm-Beyoncé is Launching Her Own Hair Care Line

IG/Reproduction

Are we finally getting the hair care line from Beyoncé that we’ve all been waiting for? The Renaissance artist has appeared in many different hair styles and colors over the years, however her signature blonde remains.

Queen Bey is also known for having her hair blown by massive fans at her performances. Though the Grammy-Winning superstar is best known as a music and performance icon, it looks like she’s making her way towards the hair industry.

Beyoncé took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt post along with some candid photos. In one snap, she was seated in front of a mirror touching her hair with hair products presented in front of her.

The second picture was a photo from when she was a child in her mothers salon getting her hair braided. In the last slide, she opened up about how hair care has been a vital part of her life as a performer since her youth. Which comes as no surprise since she takes good care of her daughter Blue Ivy’s hair.

“How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon?” the Cuff It” singer asked. She went on to reminisce on those early days in Ms. Tina’s salon.

“Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done,” she remembered. “I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women.”

She ended her note, seen below, by teasing an upcoming project that appears to be hair-related. “Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy,” she said honestly. “I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”

Additional details remain scarce, as is customary for most Beyoncé endeavors. The hand-labeled bottles of oils and creams on the vanity, however, look as if they could be test samples from a lab.

On the Scene at the Bulgari Event in Venice: Including Zendaya in Custom Richard Quinn, Anne Hathaway in Atelier Versace, Law Roach in Custom Dolce & Gabbana and More

It may be Cannes Film Festival week, but the stars are shining bright like Bulgari diamonds in Venice. To celebrate the launch of the Mediterranea High Jewelry collection, Bulgari threw a lavish party where drinks flowed, and gems followed.

Of course, the brand ambassadors and actresses Anne Hathaway, Priyanka Chopra, and Zendaya represented in the brand’s dazzling jewels and sophisticated evening looks. While Zendaya channeled Old Hollywood glamor in a lush off-the-shoulder cinched velvet gown, Hathaway went with conceptual couture and rocked a hooded crystal-covered dress. Chopra wore a saturated separate as bold and vibrant as the Roman splendor necklace she wore.

Halle Bailey Shines Bright in a Miss Sohee gown at the Little Mermaid Premiere in London & More

We all were enamored and stunned when we initially heard Halle Bailey sing these infamous lines of the Little Mermaid, “Wanderin’ free, wish I could be part of that world,” in the official trailer and now we will finally be able to see her exceptional performance in theaters this May 26th.

Bailey who embodied a modern “Little Mermaid” just wrapped up the initial premiere in Los Angeles where she received a standing ovation from a star-studded crowd.

Last night she touched down at the London premiere to promote one of our favorite childhood folktales. She glowed and looked dazzling in a white sheer Miss Sohee gown that had pearl and stone embellishments perfectly placed down the sides her gown.

Most strikingly beautiful on the star who resembles a younger Halle Berry, was her embellished floral headpiece that pulled her dreads back and allowed her beauty to shine through.

Ahead, see more celebrities who attended the London premiere and let us know your thoughts!

Kim Kardashian Sports a Black and White Balenciaga X Adidas tracksuit while Khloe Kardashian wore Laquan Smith in New York

The Kardashian sisters minus one, have touched down in New York with Kim and Khloe rocking polar opposite looks.

The second oldest Kardashian sister, Kim showed off her killer abs in a black sports bra that she paired with Balenciaga X Adidas track pants that zipped at the hem, and an oversized trench jacket.

Have Balenciaga and Adidas made amends after 5 months of Adidas choosing to take a step back from the French fashion luxury house ?

That seems to be the case as Kim was dripped in full Balenciaga X Adidas gear from head to toe. It seems like now that the controversy regarding Balenciaga’s holiday campaign images that showcased children with inappropriate BDSM plush bear bags has died down a bit, celebs are back to the basics.

Keep it mind that Balenciaga did release a public apology immediately following the release of the images, however is that enough to suffice? Only time shall tell.

Contrary to Kim Kardashian, her sister Khloe Kardashian looked sickening in a black Laquan Smith ensemble that included a crop high-neck sleeveless top and black maxi skirt. Her futuristic silver metal belt accentuated the ‘Hulu’ star waist and we loved her diamond body chain.

This also isn’t Khloe first time wearing Smith designs, and every time she does, she leaves no crumbs on the table. We were so here for Khloe’s looks and we look forward to see what stylish outfits the Kardashians have up their sleeves while slaying the big apple!

On the Scene: Angela Yee Speaks with the CEO’s of Ebony Magazine About Building their Legacy at the Ebony X Barbancourt Event

Last Thursday, The CEO of Ebony Magazine Eden Bridgeman Sklenar partnered with the CEO of Barbancourt Rhum, Delphine Gardere and presented their ‘Legacy’ event in celebration of successfully being in business for the past decades.

Moderated by radio personality Angela Yee, each woman touched on the importance of being a woman of color is such a high role. They also spoke about how to create a legacy with minimal resources,  and encouraged attendees to seek out business opportunities within their community.

During the live interview with Yee, both CEOs expressed the difficulties associated with being a woman of power and the importance of speaking up. Delphine Gardere expressed, “Being in this position I’ve learned to let my voice be heard without caring about what others may think.”

Building a legacy may look different for others, but one thing that building a legacy has in common with other CEO’s is the team-building and development that occurs behind the scenes.

“I’ve learned that I would be nothing without the support of my team and family. You cannot be successful without having a team and support around you,” stated Bridgeman, the CEO of Ebony Magazine.

“When I stepped into this role as the CEO, I had just given birth to my first child so without the support of my family, none of this would be possible,” Bridgeman further elaborated.

It’s evident to see that both companies have worked consistently to keep their businesses thriving. There’s no doubt that when people think of a black owned magazine, Ebony Magazine comes to mind.

“I see Ebony Magazine in the future as a platform that everyone can relate to and see themselves in. The goal is to be able to relate to the culture while creating influence for the culture,” said Bridgeman.

After the panel discussion, to add to the festivities guests enjoyed custom cocktails courtesy of Rhum Barbancourt. The cocktails were created by Netflix’s Drink master’s, LP O’Brien.

As for Barbancourt Rhum, this alcoholic beverage has been around for decades, and they plan on staying around for even longer. “Barbancourt Rhum will create more spaces in the future for women like me, and hopefully when other women of color see me in this position , it will inspire them,” said Gardere

Mary J. Blige Shut It Down On Stage in Black Leather Schiaparelli, Red and White Sir Babajagne and More at Strength of a Woman Fest 2023

A round of applause for the one and only Mary J Blige who successfully pulled off her Strength of a Woman 4-day festival in Atlanta over the weekend. From conferences and workshops, to performances and boundless entertainment, Mary did her thang!

During day 2 of the star-studded festival, Mary J. Blige performed her classical jam, “Love No Limit,” to a sold out crowd in a custom red and white Sir Babajagne biker look with red thigh high boots.

FYI, Mary did in fact mention that she will be coming out with her own boot line during a panel discussion which will be highly anticipated and sought-after.

Can we also get into how fierce her blonde bob cut looked on the global superstar?! She was serving looks for days and we loved her ability to switch it up at any given moment.

Transformative and looking as if she came out of a matrix, Mary J Blige wore a black leather Schiaparelli cutout bodysuit that had gold hardware and was paired with leather mini shorts. She layered her ensemble with a black leather trench coat and her signature style thigh high boots.

We love how Mary J. Blige continues to redefine and reinvent herself after 20 years in the industry. Her Strength of a Women festival was exactly the missing puzzle in the Atlanta community and we admire her for being able to use her platform effectively and intentionally. With her second SOAW fest completed, we know that the third times a charm.

Strength of a Woman Fest 2023 Street Style in Atlanta

This weekend, the ‘GWORLS’ came out for all the festivities surrounding the Strength of a Woman Fest in Atlanta and we saw a range of different styles from influencers.

Amongst the crowd, the ladies below stood out for their innovative, and unconventional looks that definitely turned heads during the conferences and talks at Americas Mart in Atlanta.

Bombshells Amanda Dia (@Yourfavthickums,) and Aliyah Core (@aliyahsinterlude) looked very animated in their mini pleated skirts that they layered with studded belts which felt very 90’s. Their oversize fur boots were quite the statement to say the least and we love how they incorporated pink hues into their ensemble.

Celebrity makeup artist Latisha Chancey (@makeupbylatisha) who’s known for slaying all the ‘It Girls,” looked absolutely gorgeous in her emerald satin two-piece look with clear mules that had a gold heel.

Latisha wasn’t the only one to leave others green with envy, Criminal Justice advocate, Kareemah Hanifa showed up to the Strength of a Woman fest in a nude and cargo look. Most notable was her green Gucci hat styled atop of her hijab and accessorized with a green mini bag.

The pops of green accentuated her neutral tone look, and this is one instance where you should never underestimated the power of bomb accessories.

On the Scene at Strength of a Woman Fest 2023: CEO Claire Sulmers Partners with Toya Johnson, Yandy Smith, Jayda Cheaves, Marsai Martin & Many More

The Strength of a Woman Festival this past weekend was star-studded with some of the hottest celebrities touching down in Atlanta and creating all the buzz.

Of course Fashion Bomb Daily was on the scene to capture all the glorious moments of the 4-day fest, with our very own CEO Claire Sulmers shaking hands with some of the most prominent people in the industry.

From kickin’ it with Mary J. Blige on the first day of the summit to connecting with Love & Hip Hop producer Mona Scott Young, and still finding time to deliver a commencement speech at her high school alma mater Westminster, Claire showed up and showed out this weekend.

Serving a flawless look on the red carpet in her black on black look, Claire wore an off the shoulder asymmetrical Veronica Beard blazer, that she paired with patent leather open toe YSL heels. Celebrity make-up artist Latasha Wright had Claire’s beat on fleek and you know HR Wilson had her finger waves laid for the gods.

Claire had a moment to speak with actress and author Toya Johnson who sported a pink and silver two-piece ombre look that included the chicest flare pants. Johnson accessorized with a diamond choker necklace and a Cartier bracelet.

Along with Toya, Claire also got to vibe with Yandy Smith who was dripped in designer from head to toe. Yandy has been looking so good these days and perhaps having Mendeecees back has added to her everlasting glow. She opted for a light blue Louis Vuitton button up dress, with white Prada platform heels.

Contrary to Yandy Smith who looked sophisticated and business savvy, internet sensation Jayda Cheaves showed skin in a modern pinstripe crop top and skirt combo. Her pineapple yellow mini bag, went exceptionally well with her yellow Balenciaga stilettos and her high ponytail served us some sass on the red carpet.

Similar to Jayda, Actress Marsai Martin looked so youthful and playful with her grey sweater vest and denim skirt that had mini brown teddy bears pinned down her garments. The 18-year old ‘Black-ish’ star has really started to come out of her shell lately and she’s definitely on our radar.

In addition to the celebs enlisted, Claire also got to meet with so many other influencers and bloggers who are leading by example and making an impact. It was great to see Claire join Misa Hylton in Atlanta as earlier this month the two wrapped up a youth development program at Misa Hylton Fashion Academy in New York.

As you can see, Claire was making major waves at the Strength of a Woman festival in Atlanta over the weekend and it doesn’t stop there. We look forward to the Mary J. Blige fest and summit next year and stay tune for this years street fashion!
