The 7th Annual Governors Awards went down last night in Hollywood with some of our favorite actors, actresses, and more in attendance. Naturally, the glamour was on high with expertly-tailored suits, embellished dresses, and showstopping gowns all on the menu for the night’s stars.
Let’s see what they wore!
Teyonah Parris always brings it on the red carpet, and she did not disappoint in a contrast silver striped skirt gown from Pedram Couture.
Idris Elba, Abraham Attah, and Beasts of No Nation director Cary Fukunaga all looked quite dapper in black suits.
Ava Duvernay slipped on a long-sleeve blue peplum gown for the awards show. Completely elegant, as always!
Will Smith gave flair to the classic double-breasted tux with a contrast lapel and slight jacquard print. Isn’t he handsome?
Common looks delicious 100% of the time, thus this event was no exception.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw was gilded in an embellished camisole dress from Jason Wu’s Resort 2016 collection. Hot!
F. Gary Gray, Ice Cube, his wife Kimberly Woodruff, and son O’Shea Jackson Jr. were quite the stylish quartet.
It was also a family affair for Spike Lee. Gorgeous all-around!
Sister duo Amy and Kimberly Schumer were clad in all-black.
Jane Fonda continued to slay in a black and gold Saint Laurent blazer, sheer Wolford bodysuit, and black trousers. Hot!
Kerry Washington was honored at last night’s 2015 Baby2Baby Gala with the Scandal actress, some of her stylish friends, fashionable actresses turned entrepreneurs, and more going glam for the evening.
Take in all the evening’s ensembles below:
Kerry Washington was the belle of the ball in a wispy black Giambattista Valli Couture number with pink flower petal accents.
Kelly Rowland needs virtually nothing to look impossibly gorgeous, thus she kept it simple in a black turtleneck dress with a thigh-high slit and ankle-wrap sandals. Gorgeous no?
Jessica Alba was a ray of sunshine on the night, glowing in a Giambattista Valli halter gown.
I know Russell Simmons is used to being the center of attention, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Porscha Thomas’s bad ass natural ‘fro, LBD, and cage sandals. Hot!
A white suit and her favorite Gianvito Rossi cap-toe pumps were Kourtney Kardashian’s choices for the event. I liked this!
Jenna Dewan-Tatum brought some color to the evening in a strapless, floral embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown. I think her red carpet record is flawless as we come to year’s end.
Gwen Stefani brought her fam along! Unfortunately, all eyes were on the songstress and her artful LBD…though I’m sure they’re accustomed to that by now.
Jessica Biel added a head-turning necklace to her blush off-the-shoulder Monse gown. Easily one of her best looks of the year!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was pretty in pink in a strapless blush number with an embroidered bodice. Wasn’t too keen on her gray pumps: they were quite dark anchors when juxtaposed with her dress.
Jordana Brewster showed just how chic a jumpsuit can be in an expertly-tailored one-shoulder white number with a scalloped neckline. I loved her sleek topknot and pink lips for a pop of color!
Ja Rule and his wife were both suited up for the occasion, with the rapper in a french terry pairing and the lady in a sophisticated black combo. Was this appropriate for the night? No. Did I love it? Yes.
I’ll always love Elizabeth Berkley: ok blame it on Saved By The Bell! There’s no doubt that she looks fantastic: her menswear-inspired blazer and silky cropped tuxedo trousers were a great take on holiday dressing.
Though his How To Get Away With Murder character was quite dastardly, it was great to see Tom Verica and his wife Kira Arne at the gala. They are definitely in the running for best-looking couple!
Devon Aoki is known for her cutting-edge style, but she was quite formal in a gold lace gown.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock gave a flash of abs at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Event in a Sorapol Spring 2016 Floral Print Crop Top and High Waist High Low Skirt:
Her look was paired with a showstopping ponytail, statement-making earrings, arm armor, and thigh-high lace up boots.
