It’s almost with sad irony that only a year after we wrote last year’s 10+ Black Owned Businesses You Can Support on #BlackonBlack Friday, shortly after the verdict of Mike Brown, we’re mourning the execution of Laquan McDonald. As always, we support and promote the patronage of black owned businesses as a show of economic force and that we, as People of Color, possess power that can effect change.
If you’ll be participating in #BlackonBlackFriday or #BoyCottBlackFriday again this year, here are ANOTHER 10 black owned businesses (many of which are personal favorites) you can look to instead:
Naturally Perfect Dolls: It’s a wonderful time for our children to have dolls that reflect their hair textures and melanin. Naturally Perfect Dolls produces realistic dolls for People of Color, with a full head of 18 inch hair that can be washed, manipulate and styled like the hair straight from our roots.
Lunaversoul Jewelry: One of a kind jewelry decadent in silver and gold, Lunaversoul is an up-and-coming etsy shop with one of a kind accents for every jewelry lover.
TonyWuu Collection: Handmade accessories that cater to our fashionable men out there.
Talley & Twine Watch Company: When is it time to make your mark? Talley & Twine Watch Company brings you effortless chic in watches that are one of a kind and unique. Who doesn’t need a good watch?
The literal translation means “strong woman”. Cover up those curly coifs with these African inspired head wraps, clothing and jewelry to celebrate strong women everywhere.
Want to accentuate your natural beauty? Try EDEN BodyWorks, made to provide natural products that “integrate wellness and are beauty inspired”.
Cocotique: Every time you turn around, there’s another beauty box subscription service. Cocotique specializes in products and brands that cater to women of color and diverse ethnicities.
Legendary Rootz: Legendary Rootz creates clothing for men, women and children to promote Afrocentrism, unity and black pride.
Zuvaa Marketplace:The premier marketplace for African-inspired fashion and accessories. In need of some beautiful African prints for your next social gathering? Look no further.
Vinti Couture: As you can see, we are a lover of accessories. Vinti Couture specializes in couture-like accessories. Best part? Now through November 27th, enjoy 45% off the site!
So there are a gang of Black Friday deals going on! Thrilla Seven is a newer brand, and they’re slashing prices for the shopping holiday. Their $70 Trophy Dress is a must have:
Pair it with pumps or thigh high boots for a night out, or slip on over pants for a more casual look.
Get yours and shop the rest of their selection at ThrillaSeven.com.

Drake sat courtside at the Toronto Raptors vs. Cavaliers game yesterday with his mom, and looked pretty scrumptious in jeans, Timbs, and a plaid shirt from his brand, October’s Very Own:
The evening was dubbed ‘Drake Night,’ and the Raptors were outfitted in OVO uniforms.
Drake’s OVO plaid shirt is not available just yet, though you can see logo’d products from the line below:
Honestly, this post was just to ogle Drake. He’s looking good!
What do you think?
No joke! This shop started following me on Instagram and I’ve been a fan ever since! Since fall started, I’ve been drawn to more neutrals and pieces that add a bit of ‘oomph” to even the simplest of looks. And, if you’re anything like me, The Fine Hanger has you covered!
This Los Angeles-based brand boasts an electrifying variety of sophisticated bodycon dresses, eye-catching jumpsuits and chic outerwear pieces. Let me tell you, you’re sure to find at least one sartorial stunner to add to your ever-growing wardrobe!
And, the prices aren’t too bed either. With products ranging from $23.99 to $98, The Fine Hanger certainly knows how to cater to the budget-friendly fashionista.

Happy Black Friday!
While I spent my Thanksgiving rubbing my food belly, many of our favorite Fashion Bomb celebs were celebrating in style, snapping family pictures and solo shots along the way.
See how a few of our favorite stars did it up, from Adrienne Bailon and Rihanna to the Kardashian/Jenner clan.
Now that our bellies are full from Thanksgiving, it’s time to shop! There are plenty of Black Friday deals going on at stores everywhere, and Sephora is no exception. The cosmetic department is having a sale for a variety of beauty products for $10 or less. This sale includes everything from cleansing facial scrubs to dazzling nail polishes. Here are 10 must haves to add to your beauty collection!
Masks are always great when rejuvenating your skin especially after a week of wearing makeup. Grab this steal with three different Origins masks to help bounce you back!
You always need eye popping lashes stored away for a night out. The Sephora Collection: It Takes Two lash duo gives you just that at a great price. One is more subtle while the other has more volume; both sure to give the look you’re going for.
With the winter months vastly approaching, you need Tony Moly’s lip balm to keep your lips hydrated and moisturized. But, how cute is the case!
Soft skin is a must, and L’Occitane’s Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil with Almond Oil helps you achieve a supple touch. Apply to your skin after washing and it’ll have your body feeling as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Also serves as a great base for shaving!
With New Year’s right around the corner, do yourself a favor by getting the Formula X nail polish set to add the right touch of sparkle to your fingers. You won’t be disappointed!
As mentioned before, a good glow is a must! What better way to create that than the Tarte: Easy Glowing Deluxe Cheek Set to highlight all the right areas.
Want longlasting makeup that won’t wear off after a few hours? The Smashbox Facial Primer is essential. It also gives your foundation a nice touch when the flash hits for a photo!
Ladies I’m sure these products could definitely come in handy. Fellas, need some stocking stuffers? These products are the way to go!
Aussie beauty Jessica Mauboy was suited up at the 29th Annual ARIA Awards in a $1,950 Ellery Majesty Jacket and Wide Leg Trousers from the brand:
Her wool crepe jacket features cascading ruffles, bell sleeves, a single-button closure, wide peak lapels, a sharp V-neckline, and d contrast topstitching.
Check out the runway look.
A bit of tailoring for the trousers would’ve made this unconventional take on the suit perfect.
If you’re up for the splurge, get Jessica’s jacket here.
President Barack Obama participated in the National Turkey Pardoning Ceremony on the eve of Thanksgiving, and brought his daughters Malia and Sasha to help bless the occasion!
While most remarked at how grown and gorgeous they are, most had questions about Malia’s two tone coat!
Of course it comes as no surprise that Malia was outfitted in a J.Crew piece, specifically their $198 Long Colorblock Field Jacket:
It’s super cute, but sadly sold out.
Peruse J. Crew’s current coats at JCrew.com.
Sidenote: This family is so beautiful and inspiring!
See them in action below:
*In case you were wondering, Sasha was wearing a cream top and skirt from American Apparel. Malia’s striped turtleneck is also from American Apparel!
As Thanksgiving draws nigh, I wanted to give a heartfelt THANKS to Fashion Bomb Daily readers for supporting this millennial, multicultural online style magazine!
It seems like we’ve been dealing with web issues for over a YEAR. It’s somewhat ironic (?) that when you try to create a better experience for readers, you sometimes go backwards–there is truth to the saying that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
At any rate, I feel like the accessibility, page load, and other issues are going to be corrected SOON. The hope is that you guys can go back to reading our great content uninterrupted just like the good old days.
That said, I’m thankful to the Fashion Bomb Daily staff for their hard work! Shout out to Faith, Ashley, Danielle, Mikelle, Esmesha, Giselle, Olamide, Vuitton, and new intern Jamé!
Also shouts out to everyone behind the scenes, including Sam our staff videographer, Pierre our staff photographer, and our new webmaster Alex, who has been working day and night to upgrade your online experience here at FBD.
Last, but not least, I am thankful to all of YOU for supporting us through hill and dale. I know we are close to the promised land, Hallelujer.
We can’t stop, won’t stop over here. And the best is yet to come.
Now you know what I’m thankful for.
What are you YOU most thankful for?
Happy Thanksgiving!
