The events are nonstop in L.A. right now! Stella McCartney picked the City of Angels as the destination for her Autumn 2016 show. All her BFFs showed up and they just happen to be some of the world’s most stylish ladies.
Let’s see who was in attendance shall we?
Amandla Stenberg was pretty in pink in a ribbed blush polo and midi skirt, red lips, and navy lace-up wedges. She’s having a great year already!
The day after her birthday, Mary J. Blige was white hot in a one-shoulder jumpsuit. Werk Mary!
Nicole Richie debuted bangs and a 20’s-inspired blonde bob, clad in a shaggy grey fur coat, stripe LBD, ankle-strap pumps, and statement-making gold earrings. I live for her style.
A Stella McCartney floral print tie-neck frock was anchored with black strappy pumps on Chriselle Lim.
After her midriff-baring Globes look, Kate Hudson kept it surprisingly simple in a flirty LBD and matching pointed-toe pumps.
The lady of the evening posed with BFF Gwyneth Paltrow, with both in leg-baring little black dresses. The shoes were the thing here!
Clearly LBDs were the night’s biggest trends, with Demi Lovato slipping one on with a button-front.
It was all about prints and textures for Katy Perry in an olive velvet turban, $2,120 Stella McCartney Faux Fur Coat, a bold patterned dress, white Falabella clutch, and strappy sandals. There was a lot going on here, but she pulled it off!
Just last week, EssenceMagazine released their first ever ‘Black Girl Magic’ themed issue, filled with pages of beautiful Black women who are, obviously, giving us that #BlackGirlMagic in 2016. One of the well-chosen members of the Class of 2016 was the beautiful Teyonah Parris.
Some people may just be starting to see this beautiful face around town, but Teyonah Parris has been rippling waves for a period of time now. A graduate of the Julliard School, Parris is probably most known for her starting role in ‘Mad Men’, upon which she became the first African-American to play a starring role. She made her initial debut back in 2010 for her work onstage and on screen in the play A Free Man of Color and feature film How Do You Know.
Since Mad Men, Parris has gone on to create a dynamic career with a starring role in movies ‘Dear White People’ and Spike Lee’s ‘Chiraq’ (Note: She has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture).
Currently, she’s a series regular on the hit TV Show, Survivor’s Remorse, as well as working on some big projects this year: Parris is set to star as R&B/Jazz singer, Miki Howard in the upcoming biopic on her life, entitled The Miki Howard Story.
Aside from her accolades she’s garnering as an actress, Teyonah Harris is also a strong and outspoken advocate for the #NaturalHairMovement, where she’s shared on numerous occasions her hair story and transition from permed to fully natural and proud.
Nothing else we can say about this beautiful woman except that she’s a true inspiration for next generation of actresses, women of color in the media, natural girls, and just anyone wanting to possess that Black Girl Magic. So those are just a few reasons why she’s our Beauty Crush; is she yours?
Another night, another star-studded event! Celebs took to the blue carpet at The 6th Biennial UNICEF Ball in Beverly Hills, sponsored by Louis Vuitton. Many of the gorgeous ladies in attendance opted for the iconic French fashion house, with everyone choosing chic gowns.
Let’s see what they wore!
A two-tone gown with a black bodice and navy skirt with sequin trim was Mariah Carey’s choice for the night. An iconic gown fit for a queen.
A red zip-front leather gown with ruffle accents, a tie-waist, and perforated detailing was Selena Gomez’s choice for the evening. She loves LV, so it wasn’t a shocker to see her in one of the brand’s pieces for the evening.
Michelle Rodriguez skewed sultry in a long-sleeve gown with a plunging illusion neckline and a slit reaching up to her hipbone. Hot!
Heidi Klum kept it surprisingly simple in a classic black number.
Camilla Belle gave a bit of a goth spin on florals.
Red was the night’s biggest color, with Jennifer Connelly shimmering and sparkled in a long-sleeve sequin gown in the fiery hue with cutout shoulders and a thigh-high slit. Hot!
Miranda Kerr opted for youthful femininity in an eye-catching, printed mini dress.
David Beckham repped for the fellas in a classic black tux. He just keeps getting better.
The First Lady was a ray of sunshine on the night of President Obama’s last State of the Union address. For the evening, she showed her support in a $2,095 Narciso Rodriguez Marigold Sleeveless Flared Dress:
Her wool blend and silk dress features a sleeveless silhouette and flared skirt.
Gorgeous and regal as always. I don’t want to see them go!
Last night, Ciara delivered a rousing performance of the National Anthem at the College Football Playoff National Championship Alabama vs. Clemson Game.
While her singing was undoubtedly rousing, more were laser focused on her crystal encrusted, semi sheer custom Yousef Al-Jasmi gown.
American sports journalist and executive Bonnie Bernstein tweeted, “Dear Ciara. You’re stunning. But this is a National Championship. Kids are watching. Cover up.”
The caped creation features a sheer panel in the front.
Overdressed? Yes. But I don’t think her ensemble is too racy for kids. A deep V isn’t that suggestive. You can only see the suggestion of a nipple if you stare really hard .
What do you think of this hubbub? Was Ciara’s gown inappropriate?
**Still searching for video of her performance. Looks like she was blowing!
**A few people remarked that Alabama and Clemson cheerleaders are more scantily dressed than CC.
Today we have one cool chick coming straight from the ATL, Courtney:
She says, “My style is 100% a complete reflection of how I’m feeling at the moment I get dressed.”
“I love clothes because they allow you to be whom ever you want whenever you want.”“I make sure that my clothes are comfortable and a true expression of who I am.” “People underestimate the power of a functional wardrobe.” “Your clothes speak before you even have to and since I know my outfit is my first impression I make sure to always represent myself in the best way. “
I love it! Minimalistic yet definitely chic and stylish. I want that all white outfit (but let me get to a gym first!). Check out Courtney’s style on IG: believeinstyle_. What do you guys think of Courtney from Atlanta?

If there is one thing I take seriously, it is birthdays. So OF COURSE we had to center this week’s Fab List around our Mama Bear here at Fashion Bomb Daily (a total surprise to her) and my personal mentor as she celebrates her birthday today!
So let’s get into the looks of FBD’s EIC Claire Sulmers:
Are there really words that can explain Claire and her ongoing media influence? Her biography would easily speak for itself: The publisher and Editor-in-Chic of the number one site for the multicultural fashionista, Fashion Bomb Daily (that’s turning 10 years old this year!). How about being one of the first pioneering women of color to tackle blogging (when it was still VERY new) and then prove *gasp* that one could make a career discussing fashion and celebrity style?
A little background on Claire Sulmers for you: After graduating from Harvard with a Bachelors Degree in French and African-American Studies, she went on to take a series of editorial internships; her first internship was found back in her hometown Atlanta at Upscale magazine, where Claire originally THOUGHT she wanted to write on topics such as politics. Oh so wrong, she was plopped right in the fashion closet and began writing small articles for the publication.
With a newfound love for editorial writing, she then moved to New York to pursue magazines, snagging internships at New York Magazine and Newsweek, before landing a job at Real Simple, which is where Claire would get the idea of posting her stories and clips on an online platform; thus, Fashion Bomb Daily would eventually be born.
When her online pursuits began to conflict with her full time gig, she quit her job and moved to Paris, where she scored an internship at Paris Vogue, and eventually began writing for Italian Vogue. Her tenure at Italian Vogue saw her covering fashion week in London, Milan, and Paris for 8 seasons, all the while running and providing content for her ever evolving website.
However, a biography does Claire no justice. In her (almost) 10 years of blogging and creating an online style magazine, she’s carved out a niche and name for herself in the editorial, fashion and celebrity world. She’s preached advice to audiences around the world on breaking into the fashion industry, the people she believes have helped create diversity on the runway, and even on her future endeavors to broaden the Claire Sulmers name as part of her growing brand and empire.
Another thing a bio will never show is her heart. Since her rise to editorial stardom, Claire’s implemented various events and initiatives to help others; whether it be Cocktails With Claire (wonderful for networking with other local businesses and fashionistas) or building on her new Claire Cares initiative, which seeks to highlight young designers, put new talent into the spotlight, and cultivate relationships between those just starting out with mentors and organizations. So she’s not just accomplished, but she’s helping others get there too!
If there’s anything Claire Sulmers teaches all of us, it’s that life may give you lemons, but you have to GRIND to get that lemonade, honey. Her stamina, hard-work, and fierce commitment to fashion and spotlighting women of color is not only commendable, but also truly worthy of notice.
Choosing only 25 times Claire gave us life proved way too difficult for me (speaking as someone who wants to just play in her closet). Plus, it’s her birthday. So, I present to you 25 times from 2015 (with a few throwbacks for good measure) Claire Sulmers taught us how it’s done. Keep up with her over on TheBombLife as well as here on Fashion Bomb Daily as we begin getting ready for more birthday’s to come! *wink*
And just like that, London’s Men’s Collections are over! But that doesn’t mean David Nyanzi didn’t sharpen his chic lens to capture male and female show attendees.
London style is well tailored, eclectic, and effortlessly electric!

Nicola Peltz celebrated her birthday in the same Tom Ford Spring 2015 White Cutout Slit Dress with Purple Embellished Cups Rihanna originally sported back in October 2014:
Nicola let the dress play centerstage with minimal makeup and accessories, while Rih opted for a sleek ponytail, thigh-highs, and purple platform sandals.
Rih copied the runway look verbatim‐worn on the catwalk by Binx Walton.
