The fashion industry is on its way to shedding its elitist vibe for inclusion: helped in large part by social media and the movement away from traditional runway shows. Public School pushed that transition along and really made their name mean something—opening their Fall 2016 Menswear show up to the public and their legion of admirers and customers.
Today, their slew of models exited from the back of their venue into the main space: giving their devotees and onlookers a glimpse at the looks first. Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne were inspired by the late David Bowie and the 1976 British science fiction drama film
he starred in, The Man Who Fell From Earth. In it, the icon played an alien who comes to Earth from a faraway planet. His mission? To take water back to his home planet in the midst of a ruinous drought. Not completely unlike the circumstances of the present.
The soul and attitude of the collection was thus steeped in endurance and thriving no matter what the elements. This essence was communicated by way of the brand’s sporty aesthetic: suede anoraks, simple zip-front bomber jackets, camo print, and turtlenecks boasting “Water” in contrast colors with a strike-through for effect.
Utilitarianism was at its peak in a long camel overcoat that would work for year-round wear, a navy sleeveless vest for a seamless addition into any modern man’s wardrobe, clean layers, and a number of uncluttered and functional turtlenecks.
The brand always finds some way to evolve with each season—establishing themselves as leaders in the industry without ever sacrificing their attachment and communication with the street. This assortment was wearable, but not so safe as to be boring or cautious: a great balance and schooling in how to make designs that a wide fashion-loving audience can appreciate.

Zendaya has literally become a household name overnight. And we have absolutely no problem with that.
A quick glimpse over on her Instagram or any fashionable media outlet (including us) will prove time and time again how and why Zendaya snagged our Fashionista of the Year award.
Although it seemed like 2015 was when everyone learned about the model-esque beauty (unless you were a teenager or avid watcher of Disney Channel), we’ve been chronicling the stylista’s fashion for years now. One thing about Zendaya is she has never played by the rules of fashion, quickly taking her own stance on outfits, appearances, and her looks. 
The 19 year old (yes, you read that correctly) has easily become a social icon as well as a fashionable one, constantly sporting new threads and hairstyles with every appearance on the red carpet, editorial shoot, or on the streets of Fashion Week.

Today officially kicked off New York Fashion Week: Men’s. While we eagerly await a few key designers, we couldn’t pass up the event’s opening party sponsored by Docker’s and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Designers like David Hart, the Ovadia Brothers as well as Chris Stampd all made it out as well as celebrities. While Tyson Beckford was outfitted in all Dockers, NY Giant’s Victor Cruz turned up at the event wearing his own design. The athlete turned fashion player donned a raw edge peacoat made of denim and blue cotton “Ripper” jeans, both created in his collaboration with denim brand 3×1 last fall.
The football player has been cashing in big time on his fashion appeal. In addition to the collaboration with 3×1, Cruz also serves as a face of Givenchy.
The raw denim jacket featured in the collection is sold out on both Farfetch and at The Webster in Miami; the only two places that stocked the piece. If you are able to find it anywhere, it was originally available for $1,325 so be prepared to pay upwards of that price.
The destroyed jeans from the collection are also sold out. Expect to pay upwards of $400 for those if you can find them elsewhere.
If you’re hoping to get one of the last pieces from the collaboration, there are only two available: a tuxedo stripe jean and a mandarin collar denim shirt with an ombre arm.
With a Nike sneaker contract, close friendships with designers like Ronnie Fieg of Kith and Chris Stampd of Stampd, this isn’t the last you’ll see of Cruz this week. Did he start it off right?
The Zendaya train is showing no signs of slowing down! She launched her shoe line DAYA with stylist Law Roach in an Ashi Studio Fall 2013 Black Strapless Bow Dress:
