New Mothers of Preemies: Is Your Infant at Risk of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) ?

fashion bomb rsv
2 fashion bomb rsv

If you’re a mother to a preemie, they might be at risk of RSV, Respiratory Syncytial Virus.

In premature babies born before 36 weeks, a common cold can rapidly develop into a serious respiratory illness requiring medical attention. Preterm (premature) infants (born under 36 weeks) and under 6 months of age are smaller, frailer and far more vulnerable than other babies. They command our constant care and protection, especially during the winter ‘RSV Season’. If your baby is preterm & under 6 months old, the risk for severe lung infection this winter from RSV is higher.

Get your seasonal flu shot and encourage anyone else who will be around a preemie to do the same. That one tiny jab not only protects you from the flu, but also helps you avoid passing on the flu if you practice good hand washing habits.
Keeping preemies safe from RSV, and from other illnesses like colds and the flu, can be hard on parents, but family and friends can make it that much easier. Some extra attention to health and hand washing on your part may be just what it takes to get the family of a premature infant or child through fall and winter cold-, flu-, and RSV-free.

Hot! or Hmm… The Kardashian-Jenners’ Balmain x Yeezy Looks at the Yeezy Season 3 Show

We’ve seen the Kardashian-Jenner ladies in numerous Yeezy looks over the past few months, thus it was no surprise that the gang was front and center at the Season 3 show to support Kanye West. They were the most glamorous women in the room, clad in pieces crafted by Olivier Rousteing and Mr. West:

The beading, soft hues, and curve-clinging silhouettes were right in line with their style and admittedly quite stunning. I would’ve loved to see something shown for the collection along these lines, but upon further thought, they don’t truly mix with the Yeezy aesthetic—which Kanye is honing quite well.

And it was nice to see Lamar Odom back in full force, as well as Lil’ Kim giving a glamorous moment alongside Caitlyn.

Show Review: BCBG Max Azria Fall 2016

While we always love that new, cutting edge article of clothing or designer that sends us into space with their collection, there’s nothing more refreshing than seeing a staple collection mixed with some re-imagined pieces.BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-2BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-4BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-6Known for their Westside meets bohemian chic clothing vibe, BCBG kept to their general aesthetic of “newness yet familiarity” in their collection. Inspired this season by a “performer whose individualistic style reveals her artistic ingenuity”, the collection provided a rich winter palette that enveloped the entirety of the collection.BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-8BCBGMAXAZRIA: Fall 2016 Runway ShowInitially, models came down the runway in graduating shades of light grey, cream and camel. In time, the colors began to transition into rich merlots, royal blues and carbons. Textures began to increase and blend together cohesively, and of course, shimmering knits and slashed leggings became the wardrobe staple piece in every watchful eye’s mind.

BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-14BCBGMAXAZRIA: Fall 2016 Runway ShowPlaying with a variety of trends and textures, it was imperative that the styling was on point to support the cohesion of the collection and look. BCBG definitely did not miss the mark, adding in subtle waves in the clothing that appeared like tapestry from walls. The infusion of formal versus informal continued to build on the strength of BCBG; never overwhelming the look with too much going on while simultaneously giving enough to keep us guessing what was next.BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-19 BCBGMAXAZRIA: Fall 2016 Runway ShowAlthough designs may have appeared simplistic, the added elements instantly raised outfits to provide an eclectic variation of timelessness and trendy. Shearling-trimmed footwear and color-blocked accessories added to the whimsical nature of this ‘artist’, a muse of sorts whose carefreeness added to the idea of  ‘gypsy girl’ meets ‘modern socialite’.

BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-29Few could take their eyes off of the warm furs that came down the runway, not removing from the sparkles or exotic bohemian styling happening underneath in forms of layers.BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-28BCBG-Max-Azria-Fall-2016-Ready-to-Wear-12

All in all, this show was refreshing and classic BCBG, which is always a treat to see how they’ll revamp something prescribed as timeless. Show Review: Kim Shui Fall 2016 for VFILES and Kylie Jenner Front Row in the Brand’s Lace Jumpsuit

VFiles’ runway model seems right in line with the way the fashion industry and the show season is moving: customer-centric with the influence and control shifting from the elite to the masses. The brand’s foundation has youth and the street at its core and it champions new and lesser-known designers—the kind that invigorate and excite fashion season after season and go on to become the Alexander Wang’s and Altuzarra’s of the world, quite possibly. Kim Shui was among the designers who showed on the VFiles Fall 2016 runway, contributing to the celebration that is its seasonal catwalk.

Born in the US and raised in Rome, Shui honed her design chops at Parsons The New School for Design and Central St. Martins. Her Fall collection debunked the idea of autumnal neutrals, brimming with bold brights including yellow, cherry red, and even turquoise and forest green lipstick on the models for good measure. Fur called forth the season on functional shawls, metallic boots with fuzzy trim, two-tone python jackets that were for fashion’s bravest with colorblock detailing, and the crimson red lapels of a 70’s chic coat.

Romantic lace accented a ladylike shirt dress with ruffle hems, a culotte suit layered over a sheer turtleneck, a duo of dresses demure in silhouette but showstopping with green and red versions of the amorous fabric and exotic python panels. Not for the faint of heart, but definitely something daring style mavens like Rihanna and Solange could undoubtedly wear well.

Shui is absolutely one to watch and there’s no denying the Miu Miu/Prada feel here: a vibe that is admittedly hard to grasp, but very good to capture if one in fact can. The collection screamed red carpet—for those risk takers who continually push the envelope—and it will be most interesting to see how the pieces are altered for consumption on VFiles’ site in the coming months.

#TBT: The Style Evolution of Kanye West

Kanye-West-Sartorialist
Kanye West always seems to be in the know-how or in the discussion of the rap industry or fashion; today, the entire fashion world is talking about Yeezy’s season three show taking place at Madison Square Garden this afternoon, dubbed by others as the ‘unofficial kickoff to New York Fashion Week.’

Kanye West rocked a casual look to a studio in Los Angeles.kanye-west-vanity-fair While all may not necessarily agree that Mr. West is thought-provoking or avant-garde in his approach to menswear fashion, none can deny that he does plan to make a statement on the fashion world; undeniably, he has already done so through his own style evolution over the years.

kanye-west-amber-rose-dior-

When the Graduation and College Dropout rapper first stepped on the scene, it was evident that he loved exploring color, texture and was a fan of prints and tees. Occasionally we saw all-black or all-white ensembles, but his color palette was still multi-varied.

Nowadays, West rocks an aesthetic of mostly neutral tones and black, playing with texture whenever looking for that ‘pop’ to his outfit. Of course, his approval of neutral shades is undeniably evident in both how Kim K dresses (because rumor has it Kanye was her stylist for a while), or in his Yeezy apparel collections.

You will also frequently catch him in his leather jogging pants (which he claims he founded), or some of his favorite designers and brands that he proudly professes whenever he can: Versace, Ralph Lauren (who just gifted Saint West with a jacket, FYI), and designers such as Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, and Raf Simons. Kanye West pictured leaving the Dover Street Market store, London, UKSo no matter what you say about his actual styling choices, he definitely has an encyclopedic knowledge of who, what, and wear!51 Kanye West x Adidas OriginalsAfter today’s show, we can guarantee that West will be one of the week’s most-talked-about events. So it seems only befitting that we check out his style evolution over the many years! Check out the gallery where we’ve curated his looks over the years and tell us what you think! Do you prefer the old, more exuberant or colorful Kanye; or do you prefer the muted tones and sort of ‘one-look’ aesthetic?
