It’s been a minute since we covered a Mommy-To-Be look, so today’s What to Wear request is right on time.
Nicole writes, “Hi, I looked around on the site and noticed it has been awhile since this question was asked. My baby shower is February 6 and I will be 8 months pregnant. I’m in Michigan so it is really cold here. I am having a little boy and would love to wear blue or a pop of blue. Any suggestions on what to wear”?
Comfort is key. You’ll be up on your feet moving around, greeting and mingling with guests, taking photos, so it’s important to wear something you’re comfortable and confident in. For a few ideas on how to style your baby bump, tap into these chic style suggestions.
Incorporate a little bling with a metallic woven box clutch, crystal jacket earrings, and a gradient glitter pump or t-strap flats.
Dress up your baby bump in a crystal blue pleated maxi dress and metallic ballerina flats.
Complete the look with a wool and cashmere coat, python-embossed leather clutch, and clustered rhinestone drop earrings.
Forego the blue accents and opt for ivory and black details in a flared hem mini dress.
A fur-trimmed coat, jewel encrusted pointed-toe flats, and a snakeskin box clutch add the perfect touch of sophistication to your mommy-to-be look.
Keep your look simple and chic in a long sleeve knot detail midi dress and double lapel wrap coat.
Dress things up with a lace-up ballerina flat, a Pandora box handbag, and silver and crystal collar necklace.
Lastly, create a head-to-toe monochromatic look with a turtleneck maxi dress and textured drape coat.
Crystal buckle satin flats, a champagne box clutch, and decadent crystal cuff earrings adds a touch of glamour while a soft blue manicure gives the look that pop of color.
Alright, there you have it. Which look would you dress your baby bump? Be sure to follow me on Instagram @StyleIsMyObsession for more stylish wardrobe and outfit suggestions. Based in LA and need personal styling? E-mail me at Danielle@FashionBombDaily.com

It seems the world couldn’t wait for Rihanna’s new music after dropping a single featuring Drake yesterday. Although her album was reportedly marketed to be released the 29th, file-sharing sites got a hold of the thirteen-track album, which has now gone viral. The album, which was highly anticipated, is Rihanna’s first one in over three years (last one was Unapologetic).
After the leak, there was nothing else for the pop star to do but to officially release the album. So in a way, there was still a climatic drop. For now, you can listen and purchase the music on Tidal.
Every designer has an inspiration for his or her collection, but few take their subject matter as far and as deep as Jean Paul Gaultier. He loves to play on the side of kitsch and shows some of the most ostentatious and bold looks on the runway season after season: creating one of the must-see catwalks consistently and essentially making him a natural fit for Couture. His Spring 2016 influence was that of legendary Parisian hotspot, Le Palace—a party go-to in the 70’s for people like Gaultier and all of his famous friends and muses.
Punk Queen Edwige Belmore was the motivation behind the assortment of 80’s power suits, the brand’s signature menswear-inspired tailoring, loungewear that we’d all love to wear outdoors, head-turning metallics, and vibrant colors. Larger-than-life curls on the models and sultry red lips were a nod to another icon of the era, Farida Khelfa, who just happened to be taking in the show from the front row.
Gaultier’s runways are always a party and this one was a veritable smash: jam packed with sixty-seven ensembles. Out of the gate, bedroom-inspired dressing was on the menu with long contrast-trim jackets that could double as robes, silky trousers, sumptuous satin trim, beautiful brocade, and embellished stripes.
Lace injected romance into the assortment on slinky slip dresses, barely-there blouses, a completely sheer one-shoulder gown layered over a classic collared shirt and tie, and a waterfall hem tunic and trousers that screamed red carpet in spite of their unabashed effortlessness.
A woman has to be quite the daredevil to wear JPG on the red carpet. Style mavens like Lady Gaga, Marion Cotillard, Alicia Keys, and Naomi Campbell wore the brand last year, thus they may slip on a design or two next month at the GRAMMYs and Oscars.
Gaultier brings great happiness and pleasure to fashion. The industry has been doing considerably better when it comes to the level of seriousness to which it holds itself, but the iconic French designer continues to make it all fun and enjoyable no matter what stance is steadfastly clung to around him. This was as carefree and lighthearted as it can possibly get, while still churning out fabulous clothes of great quality. It truly doesn’t get any better than that.
The reality star matriarch officially announced the launch of her accessories via Instagram earlier this afternoon. She posted an elegant selfie featuring her inaugural piece, the multi-hued Marjoca Pearls Necklace with the accompanying caption – “My new jewelry line, Kris Jenner Signature Collection, is here!! The first limited-edition necklace is available now..”
Ringing in at $149, the Marjoca Pearls Necklace feature a ‘delicately crafted ensemble of rare colors of gray, Tahitian black, white, champagne and oro’. The 45-inch strand necklace is quite versatile and can also be worn a a bracelet.
Kris is also adopting a TV marketing strategy while offering up a pair of free Marjoca pearl earrings with every purchase. They originally retail for $55.
Although I’m not quite a “pearl gal”, I think this is a great move for Kris Jenner. There’s nothing wrong with expansion, right?

First, Rihanna and Big Sean and now Willow Smith–Stance’s collaborations are only getting better!
15-year-old Willow was recently tapped to work with the brand as part of their Punk and Poets collaborations. Their joint Spring 2016 campaign is aptly entitled Miss Dayez and is infused with Smith’s uniquely feminine personal style.
“Designing socks is very interesting because they are items of clothing that aren’t seen a lot. For me, socks can emit energy through you—even if nobody sees them. They have a message on them that radiates through your entire being . . . at least for me they do,” Smith told Vogue.
The Smith kids are taking the fashion world by storm; Jaden Smith recently starred in Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2016 campaign. Stance gave Willow creative control and allowed her to personally design each sock. Featuring dreamy pastels and psychedelic watercolor smears in addition to striped knee-high pairs with retro stripes, it’s easy to imagine these socks easily fitting into her, and our, closets.
While the full line of socks won’t be available until winter this year, there are a stunning array of campaign photos featuring Smith that allow you a sneak peek of what’s to come.
Head over to Stance to watch the campaign video and to shop the limited socks available for preorder. These socks might just be the perfect stocking stuffer next Christmas.
