Each $37.50 crewneck features a fictional university based on a historical figure in Black History.
Marcus Garvey, Ida B Wells, and Harriet Tubman are a few of the heroes highlighted with universities that match their craft or field.
It’s the last day of Black History Month, so why not celebrate the magic of your melanin!
You can find all their black power themed products, including t-shirts and tote bags, here. Which black intellectual would you loved to have be your alma mater?
The Kardashian/Jenner clan is slowly taking over the beauty world. Following the lead of her daughter, Kendall and Kylie, who both recently released a eye shadow palette and nail polish collection, Caitlyn Jenner has announced a collaboration with MAC.
Jenner created a limited edition lipstick with the make-up heavyweight. The dusky, nude rose shade is entitled “Finally Free” and reflects the fearless way Jenner shared her transition with the world, and her new life since.
Thanks to her role as a transgender activist, 100% of the proceeds from the $17 lipstick sales will benefit the MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative. This is one of the first products to donate all the proceeds instead of pocketing them. The proceeds will go towards funding organzations and programs dedicated to improving transgender lives.
The lipstick will be available exclusively on maccosmetics.com starting on April 7th. This may be an indication of more beauty products to come as Jenner recently filed a trademark to create makeup, skin care and fragrances under her name.
There’s no doubt these lipsticks will sell out fast! Will you be buying one?
Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was filled with fun and some good weekend rest. While it warmed up ever so slightly here in D.C., this was a busy weekend of Award shows, after and pre-parties, and celebrity coverage galore!
But enough about the Awards, let’s get into our Bombshell of the Day, KiRa from Takoma Park, MD:
She says, “ My name is KiRa Henderson and I am from Takoma Park, MD.”
“My style is fun, unique and sometimes androgynous.”
“I rarely wear heels but I still like to feel girly so I definitely believe in pink.”
Okay KiRa! I love your androgynous play on clothing while still adding some hints of femininity with the pink. Ya’ll can stay up to date on KiRa’s whereabouts on IG: @hendersonkira. Let us know, what do you think of her style?

In addition to giving tips on how to do your own makeup if you suffer from a “beard” look in some photos, the model also recounts a story from last September when she got in a heated back and forth with a hair person for standing by what she knew to be right. It’s an interesting video with tips for all women, whether or not you have aspirations to be a model but here we’ve sussed out the five key products at Anderson advises carrying around at all times.
If you don’t know the brand, get familiar. Nubian Skin offers lingerie and underwear for women of color in “nude” shades that more accurately reflect their tones. Pick up some at Nordstrom or online.
If you’re hoping for a wet hair look with out the muckiness of hair gel, use an oil. Anderson’s suggestion comes from L’Oreal.
That does it!

What are some of your beauty essentials?
My homegirl Ty Alexander from Gorgeous in Grey recently posted a screenshot from a glossy UK magazine, lauding new (!) trendy (!) Boxer Braids, known to most as Cornrows.
It reads, “Every so often, a hairstyle becomes so major amongst the A-list that we all get a bit obsessed…Cue the boxer braids: originally used as a way to control curly or Afro hair, the schoolgirl cool style has been making its way through the stars and shows no sign of dying down. We first saw it on model Hailey Baldwin, then Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and even North West. But it was Kim Kardashian who cemented the style of the moment.”
Objection #1: Why is this trend obsessed writer calling them boxer braids? Doesn’t she mean cornrows?
Objection #2: The writer admits that they were originally used to control ‘curly or Afro’ hair…so why not feature some brown skinned beauties to display the look?
Objection #3: Why/how do the Kardashian/Jenner ‘s always seem to get credit for ‘cementing’ a style that originated in minority communities?
At any rate, this is yet another example of a magazine admiring a trend that started in a minority community, slapping a new name on it, and giving zero credit or love to brown skinned beauties.
Does this grind your gears, or are you rolling your eyes and over it?

Tracee Ellis Ross attended the African American Film Critics Association Oscar Viewing Party last night in a Thai Nguyen Atelier Fall 2016 Gold Silk Velvet Dress with Lace Inserts:
Instead of rock with ample decolletage, Ms. Ross added a lace bandeau to pick up on the lace accents of the dress.
The Hot! and Hmmm votes were split on Instagram, with some saying, “She kills!” and other simply stating, “So ugly.” I like it! And I love how she added the lace accent. It’s a hot! for me!
What about you?
After the Oscars are the after parties! Hollywood is on fire right now with celebrations.
Check out what the stars donned for the annual Vanity Fair fete, hosted by Graydon Carter:
Jessica Alba brought Derek Blasberg as her date, and wore a Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2016 white jersey long-sleeve gown, Brian Atwood gold mirrored Tribeca sandals, and David Webb jewels. Hot!
Elizabeth Banks was magical in a caped creation by Ralph & Russo. She gets it!
As always, Naomi Campbell had to show us how it’s done in a floor-length silver dress by Versace. We need her secrets, because she never disappoints!
Can I be Diane von Furstenberg when I grow up? The fashion doyenne showed off some shoulder in a black and white gown of her design.
Chanel Iman sizzled in this black gown with a plunging neckline and side-cut outs. She tends to wear this style a lot, but she looks ah-mazing, so why not.
Joan Collins gave Dynasty realness in a bejeweled white gown.
Diane Kruger slayed yet again, this time in sheer Reem Accra. Her red carpet style is always on point.
Priyanka Chopra was a sight to behold in a silver open-chest Jenny Packham dress.
Mary J Blige uplifted a black Stella McCartney gown with a Pasquale Bruni necklace and Casa Reale diamond earrings and rings.
Mindy Kaling let her hair flow in a Salvatore Perez gown.
Gabrielle Union simmered spice in a Georgine Black cut out dress. There’s a lot going on, but it works for her in a way. What do you think?
Gwen Stefani was flawless in red Yanina Couture.
Kerry Washington beamed in a white Atelier Versace gown with a neon accent.
White was also on the menu for Serena Williams, who showed off her form in Galia Lahav.
Jennifer Lawrence showed ample abs and leg in an Alexander Wang crop top and high slit skirt.
Amy Adams complemented red locks with a bronze and white custom Versace Atelier dress.
Chrissy Teigen just continued to slay for the night in a Talbot Runhof black sparkle gown. Pregnancy looks sooooo good on her.Taylor Swift looked fabulous in a plunging neckline Alexander Vauthier black dress, paired with gold sandals and accessories. This works for her.
Selena Gomez served face in a metallic gown by Louis Vuitton.
Tory Burch is adorable, but this bejeweled dress of her design does nothing for her. It needs some shape, no?
That’s all for now! Keep on refreshing as even more pictures filter in.
What do you think of the looks thus far? Any faves?
