Simply because February is behind us doesn’t mean we won’t be continuing the celebration of #BlackGirlMagic, and we ESPECIALLY have to showcase that magic when awesome things happen during Women’s History Month. Well, it’s happened: Willow Smith has officially been named Chanel’s newest brand ambassadress.
An ‘Ambassadress’ is merely the name for a female ambassador (way to fight masculine-power words!) and Willow Smith has recently joined the family of female ambassadors for the French fashion powerhouse. She celebrated her appointment at today’s Chanel show with mom Jada Pinkett Smith.
Hand-selected by Karl Lagerfeld himself, Willow took to the ‘gram to show her appreciation, where she posted this photo: Her caption read, “Thank you Karl Lagerfeld and the entire team at Chanel for expanding the perceptions of ‘beauty’ by picking me to be the new Chanel ambassador. I am honored.”
Personally, I am excited that a young lady so comfortable in her beautifully melanin-ed skin has now been recruited to represent one of the longest standing fashion houses of today. Not only can she be an inspiration to women of color being part of the fashion industry, but to the countless young men and women that THEY are beautiful too.
What do you think of Willow Smith being tapped for Chanel’s newest ambassadorship?
Well, the highly-anticipated film The Perfect Match hits theaters on Friday! The romantic comedy stars Terrence J, Cassie Ventura, Dashcha Polanco, Paula Patton, French Montana and Lauren London.
Last night, the hottest of the hot showed up for the movie’s Hollywood premiere at ArcLight. There was tons of skin, loads of shimmer and pure slayage on deck. So, keep scrolling to see who made an appearance.
Let’s get it!
Cute couple Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart were in attendance. Apparently, Jenny’s boo is set to make his theatrical debut in the film!
Paula Patton kept it simple in a black strapless button adorned dress while flaunting her enviable legs. Hot!
UK singing sensation Estelle looked sassy in a eclectic red and white number and thigh high boots.
The Perfect Match leading lady Cassie Ventura posed for the cameras alongside her beau Diddy. These two looked absolutely amazing!
For the momentous occasion, the model and singer slipped into a golden Stello gown which boasts a plunging neckline, a fitted silhouette and a low-cut back. Werk!
Executive producer Queen Latifah brought the ladylike feels in a red, spring-ready look.
Russell Simmons and model Lucy McIntosh kept things simple in all-black ensembles,
Our girl Dascha Polanco went glam in a lovely Leanne Marshall strapless gown. Her dress features a thigh-high slit, a lace-drenched bodice and sleek silhouette. Go girl!
Actress Lauren London struck a quick pose in a House of CB Klaudi Draped Bustier Dress. She completed her look with simple black sandals. Honestly, this isn’t my favorite look from her.
Mommy-to-be and reality starlet Draya Michele showcased her cute baby bump in a halterneck metallic Katyusha Couture gown.
It-girl and KaePop founder Karrueche Tran chose to don a white halter Nookie Boulevard dress. I feel like we’ve seen something similar on her, no?
French Montana was all smiles!
Terrence J looked so handsome and dapper in a suit by Ermengildo Zegna. I’m so excited to see him in the film!
Erica Mena was a total bombshell in a freshly cut bob and a bodycon black maxi.
Lance Gross went for bold in a cobalt blue blazer. Hot!
India Westbrook slipped into a white sheer jumpsuit by Diana Putri.
Actress Eugenia Washington smized for the cameras as she gave all kind of life in a black midi dress and strappy black sandals.
Damien Dante Wayans oozed a subtle coolness while uplifting all-black.
Actress Candace Craig bared ample midriff in a revealing white look.
Kali Hawk (who also stars in the film) took a cue from the other attendees and shut it down in another black look. But, her sequin embellishment adds a little more pop!
And, Michael Ealy looked handsome (as always)! Beard and all.

Hey ya’ll! It’s time for another installment of our #BombBlogger feature! And, today’s style mavens are the epitome of chic…
Coining themselves as the “frugal fashionistas“, Timala and Shajuanna Stewart are the dynamic blogging duo simply known asLove Seams!
I discovered these stylish siblings through our lovely Editor-in-chief, Claire Sulmers. During an attempt to peruse my email following New York Fashion Week, she forwarded me their submission letter. And, I was immediately smitten!
Virginia queens Timala and Shajuanna both founded Love Seams where they “show you how to maintain a fashionable yet versatile wardrobe without breaking the bank”. In addition, “the two love to put together sensible looks that are still unique to their individual tastes”. Their recipe for style is tastefully simple and budget friendlywith a cup of femininity, a dash of confidence and a pinch of sass.
When scoping out the blog, it’s clear that these young women know what they like! Their go-to closet staples include chambray button-ups, movement-filled midi skirts and maxi dresses, injections of bold color and layering essentials (i.e – tailored blazers, moto jackets, faux fur vests, etc).
I absolutely adore the confidence as well! There’s no better way to let an outfit shine than exuding that extra bit of self-assurance. And, honestly, I’m here fore every single minute!
Slay on, ladies!

As Seen At: Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Etro

Add some edge to your look by adding an out of the ordinary bomber jacket to your ensemble. You can go sporty-chic like Kylie Jenner or you can make it your statement piece like Laura Govan or Olivia Palermo.

Day 4 at Paris Fashion Week was chock-full of Instagram-worthy moments due to supreme fashion sets and galavanting tastemakers around the city. Curious about the most fabulous street style snaps thus far, check out our Real Style Report courtesy of photographer David Nynazi. For all the runway scoop, keep reading on!
Infinity & Beyond at Christian Dior
The #mirrored set at Christian Dior had to be the most talked about phenomenon of the day. Extending upwards, the oversized mirror looked as though to reflect the entire cityscape. As a replacement has yet to be named since Raf Simons’ departure, the Dior studio team put forth an on-brand 55 piece collection. Although many of the looks were full of black suiting, the vampy black lipstick and coordinating sunglasses added a touch of youthfulness.
Leather Leads Loewe
Any time Liya Kebede is spotted as part of a runway line-up, you have our interest piqued! At Loewe‘s Fall 2016 RTW show, mega-model Kebede could be seen wearing a single fringed glove, a bandaged top, and a knit skirt with tremendous elegance. Located at the Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris, the Fall 2016 RTW presentation revealed some fascinating cat motifs that hung heavy from the necks of models, who also carried Loewe’s all-famous leather bags.
Major va-va-voom at Alexandre Vauthier
You may recall Bella Hadid rocked one of Alexandre Vauthier‘s plunging neckline gowns to the Grammys in support of her bae The Weeknd. Clearly Bella has a good eye! The brand is known for celebrating sensuality and Vauthier seeks to offer his interpretation for every occasion in a women’s life.
And The Rest…
Yohji Yamamoto went super-minalimist this season, but don’t let the simplicity fool you! Each garment was carefully engineered for Yamamoto perfection. Issey Miyake channelled musicality with kaleidoscopic color ways. Chalayan‘s gender-neutral monochrome looks struck a confusing chord with the audience, but no doubt will find success in the closets of the super-edgy.

The jacket was designed in collaboration with Future, exclusively for his Purple reign tour. It features a Microsuede outer shell, and 2×2 Rib Knit cuffs, collar and waistband.
The color is already a hit amongst beauty influencers, and looks good on practically any skin tone. See proof below:
My friends and I tried it on, and it worked for all our skin tones (please excuse our non makeup wearing selves, we were just having fun! But it upgraded our looks immediately!).
I LOVE it, but it’s kinda messy…got all over my hands and keyboard. I need to figure out how to make it stop bleeding all over everything!
