Hey ya’ll! It’s time for another installment of our #BombBlogger feature! And, today’s style mavens are the epitome of chic…
Coining themselves as the “frugal fashionistas“, Timala and Shajuanna Stewart are the dynamic blogging duo simply known asLove Seams!
I discovered these stylish siblings through our lovely Editor-in-chief, Claire Sulmers. During an attempt to peruse my email following New York Fashion Week, she forwarded me their submission letter. And, I was immediately smitten!
Virginia queens Timala and Shajuanna both founded Love Seams where they “show you how to maintain a fashionable yet versatile wardrobe without breaking the bank”. In addition, “the two love to put together sensible looks that are still unique to their individual tastes”. Their recipe for style is tastefully simple and budget friendlywith a cup of femininity, a dash of confidence and a pinch of sass.
When scoping out the blog, it’s clear that these young women know what they like! Their go-to closet staples include chambray button-ups, movement-filled midi skirts and maxi dresses, injections of bold color and layering essentials (i.e – tailored blazers, moto jackets, faux fur vests, etc).
I absolutely adore the confidence as well! There’s no better way to let an outfit shine than exuding that extra bit of self-assurance. And, honestly, I’m here fore every single minute!
Slay on, ladies!

Despite the crazy jumping temperatures, Spring is spring-ing (get it?) up on us! Although we just had snow (AGAIN) in DC, it’ll soon be time for day parties, date nights and a whole lot of festivities! Below, we’ve collected our Top 5 trends for this Spring, so enjoy!
70’s Inspiration
As Seen At: Alberta Ferretti, Rebecca Minkoff, Alice + Olivia
How to Wear it:
The 70’s trend incorporates so many things! By wearing fringe, bell bottoms, suede mini dresses and loose printed dresses, you’ll fit right into the 1970’s.
Some of our picks that you can shop:
2. Boudoir Inspired
As Seen At: Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Givenchy
The trend is so extensive, we also saw it at Thakoon and Public School.
How to Wear It:
We’ve seen the boudoir trend as day wear on our faves Rihanna and Zendaya. Keep it simple with a classic slip dress or break your look up in separates with a bedroom inspired robe and pants set!
Some of our picks you can shop:
3. Bomber Jackets
As Seen At: Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Etro
How to Wear It:
Add some edge to your look by adding an out of the ordinary bomber jacket to your ensemble. You can go sporty-chic like Kylie Jenner or you can make it your statement piece like Laura Govan or Olivia Palermo.
Some of our picks for you to shop:
4. Off the Shoulder
As Seen At: Proenza Schouler, Creatures of the Wind, Edun
How to Wear It: The trend is so much more versatile than just summer looks; you can also wear something that details the neck area ever so gracefully during the Fall or Winter months. Some of our picks for you to shop:
5. Fringe
As Seen At: Dion Lee, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung
How To Wear It:The Fringe trend will never die (so it seems). You can either rock all fringe (like Taraji) or go for festive attire in dresses like Laura Govan. Spice things up a little like Solange and go for fringe-inspired dresses with a pop of color!
The look is definitely versatile for anyone looking to add a few trendy pieces to their wardrobe!

So there you have it, our Top 5 trends we’re seeing for Spring this year. What trends are you implementing into your wardrobe?
Day 4 at Paris Fashion Week was chock-full of Instagram-worthy moments due to supreme fashion sets and galavanting tastemakers around the city. Curious about the most fabulous street style snaps thus far, check out our Real Style Report courtesy of photographer David Nynazi. For all the runway scoop, keep reading on!
Infinity & Beyond at Christian Dior
The #mirrored set at Christian Dior had to be the most talked about phenomenon of the day. Extending upwards, the oversized mirror looked as though to reflect the entire cityscape. As a replacement has yet to be named since Raf Simons’ departure, the Dior studio team put forth an on-brand 55 piece collection. Although many of the looks were full of black suiting, the vampy black lipstick and coordinating sunglasses added a touch of youthfulness.
Leather Leads Loewe
Any time Liya Kebede is spotted as part of a runway line-up, you have our interest piqued! At Loewe‘s Fall 2016 RTW show, mega-model Kebede could be seen wearing a single fringed glove, a bandaged top, and a knit skirt with tremendous elegance. Located at the Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris, the Fall 2016 RTW presentation revealed some fascinating cat motifs that hung heavy from the necks of models, who also carried Loewe’s all-famous leather bags.
Major va-va-voom at Alexandre Vauthier
You may recall Bella Hadid rocked one of Alexandre Vauthier‘s plunging neckline gowns to the Grammys in support of her bae The Weeknd. Clearly Bella has a good eye! The brand is known for celebrating sensuality and Vauthier seeks to offer his interpretation for every occasion in a women’s life.
And The Rest…
Yohji Yamamoto went super-minalimist this season, but don’t let the simplicity fool you! Each garment was carefully engineered for Yamamoto perfection. Issey Miyake channelled musicality with kaleidoscopic color ways. Chalayan‘s gender-neutral monochrome looks struck a confusing chord with the audience, but no doubt will find success in the closets of the super-edgy.

Shows: Junya Watanabe, Elie Saab, Nina Ricci and more!
The jacket was designed in collaboration with Future, exclusively for his Purple reign tour. It features a Microsuede outer shell, and 2×2 Rib Knit cuffs, collar and waistband.
The color is already a hit amongst beauty influencers, and looks good on practically any skin tone. See proof below:
My friends and I tried it on, and it worked for all our skin tones (please excuse our non makeup wearing selves, we were just having fun! But it upgraded our looks immediately!).
I LOVE it, but it’s kinda messy…got all over my hands and keyboard. I need to figure out how to make it stop bleeding all over everything!
At any rate, if you’d like to try, get yours for $17 here.
Rita Ora took a quick trip to Londontown to celebrate with other UK superstars at the Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards. Rita, who typically stuns on any red-carpet, stayed true to form wearing a curve-hugging, yet demure look by Vionnet.
The capelet features a single button enclosure and offers comfort and coverage with airtex fabric. The ribbed top and pleated pencil skirt flow perfectly with each other by subtly playing on different textures so closely together.
Rita exchanged the white platforms worn on the model for silver ones and decided on a green belt to excite her look a bit. Her 1950’s waves and light makeup beautifully offset such a trendy look. And the color complimented her skin tone perfectly. I, for one, thought she nailed it. Hot!
The look isn’t available for sale online (le sigh), but you can look at the collection here.
Happy Monday everyone! It was a VERY busy weekend for me, so I definitely need a boost to get this weekend started off! I think that boost can happen with Dorian, who hails from Harlem:
She says, “My name is Dorian Grace and I was born in Philly, but now reside in Harlem, NY.”
“I am the owner of DLUX, a Chicago contemporary boutique and an industry fashion branding sales maven.”
“I’ve worked for several celebrity brands from Sean John to House of Dereon to Fetish…”
“Aand now have my sites set on the luxury market.”
“I would describe my style as a tomboy chic look; urban edge with a sophisticated twist.”
Cute Dorian! I love your looks, especially that thigh-high slit dress and that white/green number! Work it girl! Ya’ll, stay up to date with her on IG: @iamdgracestyle. Let me know, what do you think of her style?
