The brand is back again with their Spring Summer 2016 collection. And, trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
For this presentation, Weiz Dhurm Franklyn “dives into the world of the baroque era, encapsulating the predominant silhouettes of his muses in structural, lustrous embroideries and rich textiles“. With an untouchable confidence, Franklyn’s muses are freed of all sentimentality to be accepted but more fulfilled in further understanding who she really is and her ultimate self worth.
With a penchant for dramatic silhouettes and subtle (yet stunning) color play, Franklyn’s pieces are perfect for the upcoming season. These unforgettable looks skew pure sophistication as the models uplift flowing capes, dangerous thigh-high slits, plunging necklines and impeccably detailed robes. Perfect for any daring fashionista!

Lack of Inclusion at Balenciaga
All eyes were on Demna Gvasalia as his Fall 2016 RTW collection for Balenciaga would be his first. Expectations were high and Gvasalia delivered with puffy outerwear, shoulder-dominant suiting, and patent chain sunglasses fit for an upcoming Rihanna music video. Unfortunately, Gvasalia did not include a single model of color in his 44-look show. Here’s to guessing Rih-Rih won’t be on board to wear Balenciaga a few months from now.
Back to Basics at Céline
Pants were trailing on the runway. Creative director of Céline Phoebe Philo sought to establish looks of comfort and did so through plenty of sandals, light layers, and a warm color palette of apricot, tangerine, and periwinkle. At times, the pieces read more summer than fall, but with a healthy dose of khaki overcoats, Céline gave you just enough options to kickstart your autumn in style.
Givenchy’s Maze
Egypt was Riccardo Tisci’s guide for Givenchy‘s Fall 2016 RTW collection and the set was transformed into an intricate maze, quite similar to those found in Egypt’s famous pyramids. One of my favorite models Amilna Estevão looked divine in an all-black mini-dress with fur sleeves. The collection was literal in some steps (with the Eye of Horus and other cultural iconography emblazoned on bib front dresses) and more subtle in other ways with military-style officer coats and python skin boots.

And The Rest…
John Galliano, led by creative director Bill Gaytten, centered on lingerie-as-daywear and threw a pair of boxing boots into the mix for a down-to-earth vibe. Red carpet darling Zuhair Murad could do no wrong with dramatic black-and-white designs with striking sheer panels. Roland Mouret went retro in a 38-piece collection celebrating the rock-and-roll greats.

Check back in for our PFW Day 7 Recap!
Shows: Stella McCartney, Giambattista Valli, Saint Laurent and more!
Day 5 was a triumph of the avant-garde and the abstract. Collections ranged from the super-scupltural to the super-wearable. Take a look at the standout presentations from Day 5 of Paris Fashion Week!
Junya Watanabe’s Formula
Geometry was put to the test at Junya Watanabe, where pieces literally looked as if they had come from a 3-D computerized model. On the other hand, skirts and dresses constructed out of industrial neoprene took reference from Watanabe’s native Japan and its cherished origami art form.
Lace Overload at Elie Saab
A bolder Elie Saab aesthetic showed this season in Paris. A subtle tie-dyed gown accessorized with a leather jacket with fringe detailing on Kendall Jenner was right on trend for Fall. Layers of lace found their way onto long gowns, mini-dresses, and even leather jackets. Kendall closed the show in a floor-length leather strapless gown with sheer panels and what a finish it was!
New Wave at Nina Ricci
In his third collection for Nina Ricci, Guillaume Henry gave onlookers a 42-piece wardrobe of understated elegance. Offering trench coats with a slight metallic sheen and frothy silk blouses, the collection targeted an edgier woman with a taste for menswear.
And The Rest…
Juan Carlos Obando channeled dinner dances of South America past with silk asymmetrical tops and flowing pants with delicate pockets. Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons put forth a triple-threat of floral, upholstery, and armor. Unclear how those three themes fit together? Kawakubo weaved these components into truly wearable art, a turn on the term ‘ready-to-wear.’ Colombian designer Haider Ackermann offered incredibly luxe separates with an eclectic twist. Hair was wrapped in tightly wound velvet rope that was styled in contrast to the form-fitting metallic cropped pants and cuffed jackets.
What are your thoughts on Paris Fashion Week Day 5?
Yes, the dress is sold out everywhere. But, in contrast to Cassie’s classy approach, the model took the edgy route by pairing her look with black suede over-the-knee-boots. The detail on this dress is insane!
Her pumps boast sleek patent leather and a 4.75-inch stiletto.
Radiant skin is easier to accomplish than you think! Today’s Bomb Product of the Day Flo + Theo‘s Lavender Flower Body Polish will scrub away any winter dullness so you can look your best this spring.
The $28 scrub’s ingredients include Vitamin E, cane sugar, both almond and coconut oils in addition to other essential oils. The sugar gently exfoliates away dead skin and the essential oils nourish skin revealing brighter and softer skin.
The 100% vegan skincare line was created by two Nigerian sisters, Mayowa and Ebony, and name after their mother and uncle. Although raised in England, the sisters and their flourishing business are now based in Queens, NY.
Purchase it for $28 here so you can immerse yourself in the light lingering scent of lavender.
What do you think? Will you be switching to vegan skin care?
Her coat was paired with a printed choker, scallop-accented separates, and black strappy pumps on the iconic French fashion house’s Spring 2016 runway.
The black iteration of her hoodie was showcased on the catwalk.
Her boyfriend jeans boast a relaxed silhouette, frayed, unhemmed cuffs, 5-pocket styling, and a button fly.
Her boots were another piece featured on the runway: paired with a stripe-trim beanie and choker, white long-sleeve crop top, breakaway sweats, and lace-up leggings underneath.
Last, but not least is her black flapskin bag which is studded with beads and crystals, features large cannage design topstitching, a crest-shaped clasp in silver-tone metal, and can be carried on the shoulder or crossbody.
Marjorie Harvey went for fun and flirty on her way to Valentino‘s Fall 2016 fashion presentation in Paris. For the occasion, the couture lovin’ style maven posed for a few flicks on the ‘Gram outfitted in a Superhero Monogram inspired leather jacket and $6,743 Blue Tulle Overlay Metallic Embroidered Superhero Short Sleeve Dress from the iconic Italian brand:
The Wonder Woman logo inspired dress boasts a fun-loving charm.
The tulle overlay is uplifted with metallic embroidery while the tapered waist flatters the female form.
