Fashion Bomb Couture: Cardi B Arrived to the Schiaparelli Paris Couture show in a Black Custom Schiaparelli Over-the-Top Gown

Cutting edge, and radically jaw-dropping, Schiaparelli opened Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week today, unleashing a new set of bold techniques and colors, while also paying homage to the maximalist at heart.

‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper Cardi B was in attendance and made quite a sartorial entrance in a custom black velvet Schiaparelli strapless gown that had gold accents at her bust and was layered atop with a wool statement fringe bolero.

Cardi B practically stole the show and shone brightly as she sat front row next to Tracee Ellis Ross while they observed the fantastical creations to debut down the runway. “I’m about to sit next to Tracee Ellis Ross,” Cardi B expressed. “I’ll see you after the show, my little truffles.”

The Schiaparelli designer, Daniel Roseberry truly outdid his self with his latest presentation that felt like a work of art. From over-the-top silhouettes, to accessories on overload, and models with half painted faces, the Schiaparelli Haute Couture show felt ahead of it’s time.

We saw many Schiaparelli garments on the runway paired with gold jewelry that had innovative shapes. Remaining on trend, Cardi B accessorized with gold bangles layered on both arms, and gold dangling earrings that had pearl accents and played perfectly off the gold buttons down the back of her dress.

Her velvet head covering add that much more drama and dimension to her breath-taking and captivating look.

Stylist Kollin Carter who’s been responsible and the mastermind behind some of Cardi B’s most impressive looks was right next to the Rapper in an all black suit with a gold Schiaparelli pin as they departed from the show.

Perhaps, they’re the best stylist/artist duo as they work well together and are always thinking outside of the box which allows Cardi B to constantly reinvent herself.

Noticeably absent from the Paris Haute Couture Schiaparelli show was Cardi’s hubby, Offset who she recently got into a quarrel with due to cheating allegations.

Blogger, Tasha K released a video of a woman inside of Cardi B’s home who claimed to have been Offset’s mistress. Shortly following the release of the video, Offset took to Instagram and posted, “My wife F***** a N**** on me, gang ya’ll N***** know how I come.”

Cardi B denied Offset’s allegations and went on social media to express her dismay while also cursing Offset out for stooping so low. Although it’s evident to see that things are not all peaches & cream in the Cephus household, we’re hoping that they work it out.

Celebs Love: City Girls and Reginae Carter Were all Spotted in a Multicolored AREA Butterfly Top and Shorts Set

In celebration of AREA’s playful aesthetic, the brand created a colorful butterfly cut-out top, with matching shorts, cut to resemble a butterfly which celebrities haven’t been able to keep their paws off.

From JT and Yung Miami from City Girls, to Reginae Carter all rocking the crystal embellished ensemble that has a sweetheart neckline and is made from lambskin, it’s evident to see that AREA hit the mark with this whimsical summer design.

It’s an ‘Act Bad’ season for Yung Miami who’s been looking like a million bucks since she got into a relationship with Diddy. They say, the ‘devil is in the details’ and it’s clear to see that Yung Miami is covering all of her basis.

The Rapper turned TV Host, wore the exact same multicolored AREA ensemble as JT while performing on stage. She opted for a fuchsia pink and purple color block Christian Louboutin platform and accessorized with diamond chains that made us want to say “Cha-Ching!”

Yung Miami’s group partner JT, has made headlines recently for allegedly throwing her cell phone at her boyfriend Lil Uzi during the BET Awards for shouting out Ice Spice during his performance, and briefly sitting next to the Dominican rapper. Contrary to Yung Miami, she opted for barbie pink boots to compliment her AREA look.

Her wrist candy and diamond ring were the perfect accents to bring out the bold rhinestones featured on the front of her ensemble.

Resembling a City Girl herself, Reginae Carter was also spotted in the Area two-piece butterfly set , and she kept it youthful with bubble gum colored Fendi wedge mules. We adored her Dior Butterfly sunglasses and could totally envision Reginae being apart of a girl hip-hop group in the future.

If you can see yourself wearing the exact same AREA two-piece set, the Butterfly cut-out leather top retails for $1,495, while the shorts can be purchased for a splurge of $1695 by clicking here.

Leveraging Jewelry to Bolster Confidence and Well-being, Empowering All

In a world increasingly focused on appearances, the intimate relationship between how we look and feel is becoming increasingly significant. This isn’t superficial vanity but a vital truth of human psychology, a testament to the power of external appearances in shaping our internal mental and emotional landscapes. Dressing up or adorning ourselves with accessories can serve as an avenue for self-expression, a path to self-confidence, and an essential step in maintaining mental health.

According to a study by researchers at Northwestern University called “Enclothed Cognition,” our clothes and the symbolism attached directly influence our mental and emotional states. The researchers discovered that participants who wore a lab coat described as a “doctor’s coat” showed higher attention-related performances than those wearing the same coat described as a “painter’s coat” or those not wearing a coat at all. This intriguing insight demonstrates that what we wear and how we present ourselves dramatically impact our cognitive processes and feelings about ourselves.

If clothing can have such a profound impact, imagine the potential in jewelry, a form of adornment steeped in symbolism and personal meaning. Indeed, jewelry can serve as more than just an accessory. It can act as a powerful tool to express your identity, showcase your style, and, ultimately, make you feel more confident and secure in who you are. Whether you’re a man or woman, regardless of your style or tastes, the right piece of jewelry can imbue you with an enhanced sense of self-esteem, reminding you of your inherent worth and beauty every time you catch a glimpse.

Understanding the Psychology of Jewelry

To leverage jewelry to its fullest potential, we must first understand how to utilize fashion and beauty effectively. As humans, we are hardwired to appreciate aesthetics. Jewelry, with its shimmering gemstones, intricate designs, and lustrous metals, appeals to our innate love for beauty, and by wearing it, we become a part of that beauty. This psychological effect can significantly boost our self-esteem and confidence. It’s not about flaunting wealth or status but expressing personal style, invoking personal history, and fostering a connection with our inherent worth.

Rings: Symbols of Power and Commitment

Rings, with their circular shape, symbolize infinity, commitment, and power. Whether it’s a simple band, a signet ring, or an elaborate gemstone piece, a ring can make a statement about your character and values. It can also serve as a potent reminder of your commitments to yourself and others. The ring can reinvigorate you with purpose and confidence when you glance at your hand.

Necklaces: Expressing Identity and Showcasing Beauty

Necklaces sit close to the heart, often as physical tokens of what we hold dear. They can be conversation starters, allowing us to express facets of our identity. By choosing a necklace that represents something meaningful, you’re making a statement about who you are, which can, in turn, bolster your self-confidence.

Bracelets: Emblems of Strength and Protection

A bracelet is a unique piece of jewelry that can subtly elevate your style while symbolizing strength and protection. Traditionally, they’ve been worn to ward off evil, to display wealth, or to symbolize a rite of passage. Whether you opt for a bold cuff, a delicate chain, or a stack of bangles, bracelets can symbolize your strength, reminding you of your resilience every time you wear it. Additionally, bracelets can act as ‘armor,’ providing daily security and comfort.

Earrings: Amplifying Beauty and Enhancing Harmony

Earrings are one of the most visible forms of jewelry, playing a key role in framing the face and accentuating natural beauty. They can bring balance and harmony to your facial features and elevate your overall look. By choosing earrings that resonate with your style, you accentuate your natural beauty and enhance your confidence in your appearance.

Watches: Merging Functionality with Style

While fundamentally functional, watches are a profound personal statement about your approach to time and life. A well-chosen watch can signal your respect for time and commitment to efficiency, bolstering your self-confidence in professional and personal arenas. Plus, a beautiful watch can serve as a source of pride, amplifying your self-assuredness whenever you check the time.

While often seen as a simple accessory, jewelry can boost self-confidence and foster a sense of security. The right piece of jewelry can empower you, reminding you of your inherent strength, beauty, and worth. This form of self-expression isn’t about vanity but self-respect and self-love. When you look good, you feel good; that positivity radiates outwards, impacting every aspect of your life. So, embrace the empowering potential of jewelry and let it reflect your inner beauty and strength. Always remember confidence starts within you, and jewelry can act as a gleaming mirror, reflecting your innate self-assurance.

The festivities continued during Day 2 of Essence Festival of Culture , with Mielle Organics hosting an extravagant rose-colored booth and pop-up filled with endless hair care products, enchanting backdrops, and numerous opportunities to let loose and fun.

From attendees networking and learning new protective ways to maintain their tresses, to a group of party-goers taking part in Tamia’s hit song, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ line dance, the Mielle Organics pop-up shop was nothing shy of an exhilarating time.

Our CEO, Claire Sulmers who’s known for being a fan-favorite during Essence Festival weekend was on the scene at the ‘Mi Haus Party’ and bloomed in a barbie pink Jacquemus dress that she styled with a mini Hermes bag, and clear embellished Amina Muaddi heels.

Of course Nola was in the building, and New Orleans native Toya Johnson and her daughter made their way over to the Mielle Organics booth. Sulmers spoke with Johnson, who wore a Dolce & Gabbana set including a logo D&G white tee, and pink floral shorts to go with her her fuchsia open-toe heels.

Monique looked classy, and sophisticated chic in a full baby blue Chanel ensemble with a sequins embellished Chanel handbag, while her husband Melvin looked checkered out in a men’s Burberry look.

Gross who was dripped in Russell Westbrook collection entitled, “Honor the Gift,” accessorized with black shades, and a gold chain and watch that glistened against his chocolate complexion. We loved his $1,750 black leather Prada combat boots that had leather zip pockets on each side.

In addition, Claire met up with Love&Marriage DC star, Ashley Silva who served a light pink tulle organza moment with a mini Gucci crossbody bag. To keep things light and airy for the New Orleans humidity, Silva had her straw hat on deck that perfectly complimented her beat, and glamorous attire.

If you are in the New Orleans area for Essence Fest 2023, you can meet Monique Rodriguez and Fashion Bomb Daily CEO, Claire Sulmers at the Ernest N. Morial Convention center booth 8658 at 12:30pm, or at the Mielle Organics pop-up shop at 3:30pm, located at 400 Julia Street, in New Orleans, LA.

VP Kamala Harris Enjoys a Silk Press As Her Go To Hairstyle

It’s the silk press for me! Actor Keke Palmer got to the bottom of Vice President Kamala Harris’s signature silk press hairstyle and how she keeps it so silky.

Kamala Harris is more relatable than we think, as she revealed all the secrets of her silk press method that we’ve been dying to know. “Silk press” is a term used within the black community to reference textured hair being straightened, and to know that our the Vice President of the United States enjoys a wash and silk press as her signature go to, is comforting.

Actor Keke Palmer visited the White House to interview Vice President Kamala Harris for an episode of her podcast: “Baby, This is Keke Palmer,” and the silk press questions couldn’t be ignored. Palmer questioned Harris, “How many times a month do you get a silk press?”

Despite what some of you may thought, the Vice President declared that she doesn’t always use heated styling tools to straighten her hair, which shocked Palmer. She explained how she uses a round brush which can take heat to help keep her hair straighten.

Palmer expressed to VP Harris that she and another high-profile individual known for their silk presses were going head-to-head for the title of the best hair. Palmer exclaimed, “You and Queen Latifah are going neck and neck, you’re giving it to her!”

It’s safe to say that the girls are in awe of Vice President Harris silk press routine and feel even more relatable to her as a black woman in power.
