Ever since we wrote about Kylie Jenner in the tan suede Isabel Marant Etoile button dress, our obsession with suede intensified.  Her 1970’s inspired look was a splurge, but today’s Bomb Product of the Day is a complete steal!  The Missguided Double Button Faux Suede Shirt Dress costs just $51.

Made of 100% polyester, the faux suede shirt dress has ten buttons on the front. With long sleeves and two pockets, the camel colored dress bears a striking resemblance to Kylie’s!

The Hollywood Reporter in collaboration with Jimmy Choo held its annual stylists’ dinner at Tower Bar in Los Angeles last night honoring breakout celebs and the stylists who’ve curated their noteworthy red carpet looks.  Model/actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley attended the soirée and looked as elegant as ever in this $1,363 Galvan navy crepe bandage jumpsuit.

Simplistic, yet chic, it’s perfect for any formal evening affair.  The wide bandage at the bust modernizes and offsets the form-fitting silhouette.  And in a classic shade like navy, it’s almost difficult to go wrong.

With an effortless side-part, minimal jewels – opting for a thin gold choker – and a striking red lip, she let her jumpsuit standout.

If you stay up to date with the latest models, DJs, or even just binge-watch Orange Is The New Black, then by now you’ll definitely have heard of the beauty that is Ruby Rose.

So why is Ruby Rose our Beauty Crush Wednesday (you may secretly be asking yourself)? Well, aside from the fact the woman is just GORGEOUS on the outside, she also stands for huge ideas on what a woman is or can be. That simple idea of pushing the boundaries, in my opinion, is something beautiful and something we definitely explore and support on FBD.In multiple interviews where she’s discussed her beauty aesthetic (she was just recently named the newest face of Urban Decay), Rose has long been vocal about the rigidity of the gender binary and gender roles. The lasting impression with what she pushes for all people to do? “Only you know who you were born to be, and you need to be free to be that person,” she told Elle magazine.At the end of the day, Rose’s self-love testament and urging of others to accept who they are empowers people to define their own identities, their own truths, and love themselves for who they are. It also embraces and pushes this idea of womanhood, which we celebrate every day but especially in the month of March. What can be more beautiful than that? 

Female and human empowerment is beautiful, and so is Ruby Rose! Be unapologetically you, always. She’s definitely our #BCW, is she yours?

Sometimes political and social messages are best said on tangible paraphernalia such as a coffee mug, notepad, or T-shirt. Other times, it’s best left out of product development, where it can lead to sensitive matters that evoke a huge issue of offensiveness and doubt. Forever 21 is the latest clothing retailer to come out with something I’d argue as the latter.

The company released a men’s T-shirt to be sold online and in stores, plastered on the front with, “Don’t Say Maybe If You Want to Say No”, clearly referencing the idea that has been circulating heavily around in the media on a women’s right to say no about sex, the sensitive (and many times, dismissed) topic of rape culture, and of course, the touchy subject of consent and if a woman (or man, to be fair) can renege on consent at any time.

Critics have surfaced online, stating that the T-shirt supports or advocates the idea of rape because one shouldn’t have said ‘maybe’ in the first place, or that the shirt pre-blames victims for whatever consequences they are left to face after their ‘maybe’ is used as consent for sexual activity.

While the argument can be understood that perhaps the shirt aims to suggest that if you don’t want sex in the first place, one can merely say no, I think it was insensitive and completely offensive to even make a suggestion that a ‘maybe’ justifies, in any way, shape or form, action that can not be forfeited once someone says no. I also feel it’s a true slap in the face for all victims of rape, who have had something of theirs taken from them unwillingly, and yet, it was okay because they initially agreed to some level or degree.

Forever 21 has since removed the shirt from their inventory, publicly stating that, “Forever 21 strives to exemplify the highest ethical standards and takes feedback and product concerns very seriously,” Forever 21 said in a prepared statement to The Huffington Post. “With regards to the T-shirt in question, upon receiving feedback from our customers, we took immediate action to have it removed from our website. We sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by the product.”
