Looking like all forms of beautiful Black girl magic, Tika Sumpter also appeared at Glamour’s brunch wearing a $480 Self Portrait blush lace frock:
The dress features spaghetti straps, lace detailing throughout, and hits a little below the knees.
I think Tika looks amazing (despite some comments people had about what the dress is doing to her breasts) and would definitely rock this dress for Spring!
If you’re down for the splurge, you can purchase her dress here.
While he hasn’t announced anything definitive, Balmain’s Olivier Rouesting is apparently toying with the idea of buying garments straight fro the runway. In a recent panel, the young designer said “I believe in see-now-buy-now — we have to stay connected and go faster.” He went on to say: “But it’s important to keep key pieces that you will sell later and also have pieces that are available immediately after the show. It’s good to have a mix of price points too. And I believe that Instagram and couture can work together – you can invite people to discover how you work. With Instagram I can push and explain the details.” In practicality that sounds like the designer will take a page from Moschino’s book and present a capsule of pieces right after shows at strategic price points with the bigger ticket items available later. Balenciaga is the latest luxury brand to announce a switch up to their runway schedule. Instead of slimming down, the brand is announcing they are adding in a show to the rotation. Having been called out in the past for lack of diversity in runway casting, creative director Demna Gvasalia will present his first men’s range for the brand in during Paris Fashion Week on June 22. The occasion will mark the first men’s runway show for the almost century old label. (Mic)
What both Balenciaga and Olivier Rousteing have in common: they can trace their roots back to Diddy’s Sean John. In a particularly in-depth profile by Washington Post‘s Robin Givhan, the entire influx of street culture into fashion has been laid at the feet of Mr. Combs. From Kanye West’s Yeezy and Rihanna’s Fenty to Demna Gvasalia’s work at both Balenciaga and Vetements, the industry is rife with an aesthetic that was really started by Sean John, a company that’s raking in $400 million in sales annually. What they then called the “urban” market has now been termed “streetwear” and in addition to former Sean John designers Maxwell Osbourne and Dao-Yi Chow now at Public School and DKNY, Combs sees fellow rapper Kanye West as picking up the mantle. “Kanye West is carrying the torch of Sean John,” Combs said. “I’m very proud of him.” (Washington Post)
After our Bomber’s, we’ve got to end the week with Bombshells. Today we’ve got Nubiana from Orlando, Florida:

“And simple silhouettes and colors when I’m feeling casual.”

Mariah Carey looked like Honey while hosting at night at Paris’s VIP Room! The songstress showed off her bawdy in a $2,922 Plunging Mini Dress and the brand’s $1,930 Ava Boots:
Her black crepe dress is sliced with a deep V-neck that mimics the lapels of a blazer and is cinched with a waist belt, accented with gold-tone metal D-rings.
Black goat skin ‘Ava’ boots from Balmain feature an open toe, a lace-up front fastening, a side zip fastening, gold-tone hardware, a high stiletto heel and a leather sole.
With heavy hearts, we report that legendary artist and musician, Prince, has died at age 57.
The singer, song writer, producer, and multi hyphenate powerhouse was one of the most influential creatives of our time.
Hit songs like Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, Let’s Go Crazy, and Raspberry Beret set the tune and tone of the 80’s and beyond.
In addition to his sonic impact, he was also known for his contributions to style, toe-ing the line between masculine and feminine, boldly wearing ruffles, sequins, and elaborate jackets, topped off by a curly coif.
What’s up everyone? Today, we’re heading back to New York, where we’ve got Bombshell, RKHTY from Brooklyn:
“My name is RKHTY (Rah-keh-ti).”
“I am a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn.”
” I’d describe my style as effortless, comfortable yet dynamic.”
“Every now and again I swap my Timbs out for some heels to break up the streetwear flow.”
“Each outfit I wear during a performance is a layer of emotion I set for my audience.”
“Luckily, my mother kept a lot of her clothing from the 70’s and 80’s so I pair some of the bold vintage pieces with modern wear!”
Cool style RKHTY! Your style definitely exudes a cool factor while still playing up on artsy and chic! If you guys wanna check out more of her style, head to her IG: @RKHTY. So tell us, what do you think of her style?
