Shoulder cleavage is a ‘thing’ for the spring. The 70’s inspired off the shoulder top will be a must-have for this seasons wardrobe. Today’s Bomb Product of the Day features Pixie Market’s $45 Light Blue Crop Off the Shoulder Top:
The pale blue, cotton blend shirt has elastic around the top allowing it to expand past the shoulders.
Great for a casual brunch or daytime look. To complete the 70’s feel, I’d rock this top with a pair of wide leg pants.
The style was spied on stars like Olivia Palermo and more recently, Kendall Jenner.

Britain’s Got Talent judge and singer Alesha Dixon, hit up the This Morning show. While chatting it up and dispelling rumors about joining X Factor, she looked cool as can be while wearing a cream colored turtleneck and a $556 The Kooples Leather Dress.
Emphasizing a modern, rock and roll rebel look, this leather dress features buckled straps at the shoulders and back and a pleated mini skirt.
In spite of the texture being typically weighty and thick, Alesha’s dress looks like it offers ease of movement and and elevates her edgy side.
Although it’s quite the splurge, and you’re bound to find less expensive alternatives, I’m feeling it! She looks like a 90’s video daydream, especially with cool sunglasses and a trendy pair of peep-toe booties. Well, if you’re feeling her look, you can cop the dress here.

GapKids introduced their latest campaign for the Ellen DeGeneres kids clothing line on Friday April 1st. Since the release, the advertisement has come under harsh criticism via social media because some believe the photo has a racial undertone.
The photo features four young girls standing in a row. The girls in the middle ignite controversy because of how they’re posed. The white model is positioned with her elbow on the black models head. The caption reads, “Meet the kids who are proving that girls can do anything.” Social Media was not impressed with the new campaign and sounded off:
The mega retailer has a history of inclusion when it comes to their advertising strategies. They’ve embraced diversity by using people of color, different religions, disabilities and sexual orientations in their campaigns. Some argue the idea that The Gap’s history of promoting the protected classes should be an indication that the advertisement is not racially motivated. In fact, Gap supporters refute racial claims by presenting a similar ad from a campaign a few years back. In that ad, a black girl poses with her elbow on a white girl’s head.
The Gap has since removed the ad from their website and issued an apology.
“As a brand with a proud 46 year history of championing diversity and inclusivity, we appreciate the conversation that has taken place and are sorry to anyone we’ve offended,” said Gap spokeswoman Debbie Felix in a statement to Fortune.
The climate of our society is very sensitive when it comes to race. The perception of this ad will be different for everyone who sees it. The question is, if we know The Gap to be a supportive and inclusive brand, are people being to sensitive or can we chalk this up to poor judgment on the brands part? What do you think?

Before a lot of female entertainers, DJs and the likes of Nicki Minaj, Rihanna or even Queen Bey, Lil Kim was making serious sartorial statements for women in the hip hop industry. Though controversial and typically titillating, there’s no denying that Kimberly Denise Jones carved out a niche as a 90’s era fashion and style icon, trendsetting her way via avant-garde dressing, skin tight bustiers, and (the infamous) pasty-affirmation for every woman out there. Lil’ Kim not only pushed the boundaries of what fashion was, but also made it accessible and influential to the general population by way of her luxury designer laden, statement-making lyrics. Remember when she said:

Yeah…Lil’ Kim was one of the original rap stars, known for ostentatiously citing designer labels in songs.
Her style is still seen in the outfits of some of Hip-Hop and Pop’s most notable artists, including:
Rihanna who has definitely cited Lil’ Kim as a style and fashion icon and inspiration.
Miley Cyrus who tried out Kim’s infamous pasty/sequin look from the 1999 VMAs.
And Nicki Minaj, whose Harajuku Barbie aesthetic was undoubtedly inspired by Kim.
Outside of performances and appearances, celebrities have of course given their own ode to Kim during holidays, including Karrueche who rocked her look for Halloween.
Though racy and oft criticized, Lil Kim showed women of the 90’s and beyond that it was ok to embrace their sexuality and flaunt their form even in the most shocking of ways. Kim made it ok to be totally unapologetic when it came to sensual style expression.
