Friday evening the stars of the hit prime time television show ‘Empire’ attended their FYC ATAS Event at the Zanuck Theater in Los Angeles. As if the cast isn’t already stylish on screen, they made sure to show off their fashionable threads on the red carpet.
Let’s see what they wore!

One thing I have found very meditative is delving into a good book; amongst them, a great self-help book. While I had heard and knew of Olori Swank and her ascent into celebrity styling, I had never thought to pick up her book. By happenstance, 101: The Blueprint Swank Life appeared in my lap, and peaking my interest, soon dragged me in. Thus, I had to make it a Bomb product of the Day.
In this gem, one will find vast secrets and general antidotes on a myriad of topics, ranging from staple items every woman must own, relationship advice, juggling finances and starting your own business, and much more.
Now one may be wondering what exactly makes THIS book such a Bomb Product compared to other books you may have on your summer radar. Though its insightfulness definitely puts it in a category of relatable “we’re just girls and we’re talking about our lives” style, Olori dishes on EVERYTHING you may have ever wondered. With vivid illustrations that captivate the eye as well as constant resounding quotes, the book is a definite encouragement to make one get off their behind and do something!
Topics I personally enjoyed were her comparisons of waxing, threading, shaving and laser-hair removal (hey, we should know the differences), learning how to negotiate whether in the boardroom or straight from your home office, and amazing recipes (yes, she has a mini cookbook in here!) and cleanses to get that body right for the summer. You’ll find secret hair tips on how to dress when rocking very colorful locks (regardless if your hair is blue or not), proper dressing for your size shape, and of course, what constitutes a splurge and a save.
With constant Internet trolls and just haters abounding, one could even appreciate the book’s section The book even broke down when to clapback at haters, the 10 ‘Swanky’ Finance Commandments, how to tell what glasses different wines go in (hey, you never know when you might need to know that) and her beauty secrets for clear skin.
All in all, this book is packed with delightful random antidotes that every girl should know, or at least be familiar with. With eye-gripping illustrations and wonderfully curated tips, you’ll be on your way to conquering the world as the Bombshell that you are after you read this book!
What do you guys think? Will you be adding this book to your summer reading list?
Queen Rih sported a new looking from her upcoming Fenty x Puma Fall 2016 collection during her Anti tour, donning this black and white lace up dress: Unlike the model, Rih went for a softer look with a delicate necklace and white sneakers, ex’ing out the beanie and grunge black lip and choker from the runway.Nonetheless, I love this for a casual night out with the girls or even a cute date night?
We made it to Friday!!! *does the Running Man dance, back and forth*
It’s been a whirlwind of a week but, like all good things, it’s come to an end. In addition to our day-to-day routines, the 69th Annual Cannes International Film Festival set our hearts ablaze as some of Tinseltown’s hottest fashionistas dazzled and shimmered in endless red carpet appearances, celebratory parties and other events.
This week, I’m proud to announce that we have a “Battle of the Gowns” going down! It was a little tough choosing the contenders but I’m confident that the competition is preeetttyy fierce…
First up, we have LaLa Anthony! The gorgeous television personality rocked the red carpet at the premiere of Loving during the 2016 Cannes International Film Festivalwhile uplifting a glamorous black gown by Gauri and Nainika. Her strapless tiered dress boasts a fishtail feature and dramatic ruffling along the bodice. To top off her look, LaLa also donned De Grisogono jewelry. Hot!
Kim Kardashian West was on hand for the De Grisogono party and she (literally) shined bright like a diamond! The 35-year-old style maven blinded all onlookers as she graced the cameras in a Lan Yu Couture dress from the designer’s Crystal collection. Surprisingly, this ensemble received mixed reviews but, honestly, I think it looks amazing! It’s always cool to see Kim in more polished looks – she always slays them. What do you think?
Supermodel Jourdan Dunn was also spotted at Cannes for the premiere of The Unknown Girl! The British bombshell channeled ladylike, elegant vibes in a jaw-dropping Ralph & Russo Spring 2016 Couture White Silk Gazar Ball Gown which features an exaggerated train, hand-painted blue floral designs and a high-low hem. Jourdan amped up her luxurious look with the addition of strappy sandals and lush diamonds. Werk!
Last night, Katy Perry stunned at amfAR’s 23rd Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala as she served ‘dancing lady’ emoji realness in a ruby red gown from Marchesa‘s Fall/Winter 2016 collection. I’m a sucker for dramatic silhouettes so this one was right up my alley, lol! The songstress effortlessly pulled her frock together with a bright red lip, a low bun and diamond drop earrings.
It-girl Kendall Jenner gave a nod to the sheer trend as she got social media (and the entire world) buzzing while donning an eye-catching Roberto Cavalli gown at the Cannes International Film Festival. The ‘fit features bold jeweled embellishment, a high neck and snake embroidery accents. This chick is everything!
Okay, true story: After I spotted Sonam Kapoor in this Ralph & Russo stunner at the premiere of From The Land of the Moon, I had to take a moment to actually research the intricate embroidery detailing, lol. I mean, from a distance, it’s impeccable, but I was convinced that an up close shot was even better. The beautiful actress shut it down as she flaunted a shoulder cutout and that showstopping train. Go girl!
Marchesa seemed to be the designer of choice for amfAr’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala! The fashion house had a large variety of starlets rocking their pieces including the flawless Chanel Iman. While gaining over 4,000 likes on the ‘Gram (and counting), this sheer metallic number appeared to be the ‘most liked’ look of the event – impressive! The off-the-shoulder feature is on-trend and the overall femininity of the gown screams pure dopeness.
Ciara attended the Billboard Music Awards (it goes DOWN this weekend, ya’ll) Press Day rocking an Alexandre Vauthier one-shoulder, mini red dress:The dress features a halter-style neck with a deep, open back cut on the dress. For the occassion, she slicked back her hair off her hair and stuck with red open-toed heels.Hot! I think she looks dynamic! What do you think?
