Happy monday everyone! Today for our Bombshell submissions, we’ve got Edwina from New York:
She says, “My name is Edwina and I am a Haiti-born, NY residing fashion blogger.”
“I’ve been inspiring women to add a splash of color to their outfits and their lives on versicolorcloset.com for over 3 years.”
“Because blogging requires me to review my outfits before, during and after I shoot, I’ve been able to identify what works best for my body and therefore polish my looks over the years.”
“I gravitate towards pieces that can be worn various ways and I incorporate some trendy items in my wardrobe as well.”

As sexy as this dress is, putting assets on display, the hem offers some modesty hitting at the middle of the shin. The simplistic design is perfect for comfort and travel, and can be custom made in an array of colors. Kim paired her look with a long knit cardigan and a pair of Yeezy Season 2 Knit High Boots, courtesy of hubby, Kanye, of course.
These tall stretch knit boots in ‘gold’ beige have an elasticized collar for a secure fit at the thigh. The almond peep toe and cut out heel elevate the cool factor on this boot, making it perfect for summer. The four-inch stacked heel gives the wearer just enough height without the fear of toppling over. Though her complexion looks more radiant when she wears bright colors (in my opinion), you have to admit Kim’s a trendsetter, even in very subtle tones. But at a total of $1,580 (not including her very rare $115,000 Hermès Birkin in Himalayan Crocodile Leather…yikes), is it worth the splurge?Well, if you think so, you can order your own Mark Wong Nark dress here, and shop her Yeezy boots here (before they sell out like most Yeezy pieces do.)
What do you think, Bomb readers? Would you consider putting some heat on your credit cards for this look?
Not too long ago we were publicly discussing the (possible radical) suggestions of activitists like Jada Pinkett Smith to boycott the Oscars. With the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag traveling all across social media, the harsh realities of so many people of color in the entertainment industry were finally brought to light. The scarcity of diversity seemed bleak and questionable, opening up a huge controversy that led up to the night of the Oscars (including the night of with some very…interesting skit interpretations by Chris Rock and fellow members).
It seemed last night’s Tony Awards was a banishment to any idea of lack of diversification, especially when it comes to Broadway. Perhaps it even border-lined liberal defiance at the very idea of discrimination, focusing simply on talent and merit when making its decisions for the night and who would go home with an award. While there is still a long way to go in promoting fairness in casting measures and opportunities for people of all skin tones, last night was possibly an indication that Broadway, if not Hollywood, is moving in the right direction.
Thanks in large part to the show “Hamilton” (which sweeped the board with 11 wins and was nominated for 16 Tonys), all four musical acting awards (lead actor, lead actress, featured actor and featured actress) went to black actors, making it a first in the ceremony’s history.
Perhaps what made the night most special was that not only the winners, but many of the nominees across the board represented diverse backgrounds and encourage now, more than ever, children of all ages, skin tones, creeds and races to pursue the arts if that’s their heart’s ambition. There were 14 individual nominees who were actors of color, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lupita Nyong’o and Sophie Okonedo. “Eclipsed,” the play written and produced by Danai Gurira, starring Lupita and exclusively played by black women, was nominated for best play. And the list goes on and on.
Creating roles, opportunities and setting role models is only one step in a long process of promoting diversity where there is none. In a time where it is vital to see representation and expanding definitions on who can be what, perhaps we can all take a lesson from the Tony Awards and administer it into our respective lives.
As a musician and performer myself, I am ecstatic to see where the Tony Awards is possibly heading and what doors this may open! What do you guys think of the award nominees and diversity?
Sienna Miller was every bit the lady as she graced the Cartier Queen’s Cup Final in an eclectic Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2016 Muticolored Printed Maxi Dress and gem-encrusted chunky sandals.
The actress’s bohemian-inspired dress was presented on the catwalk with endless accessories including a statement belt, bold drop earrings and a pom pom-drenched handbag.
The bohemian-style maxi features flutter sleeves, subtle lace-up detailing and a relaxed fit.
This particular piece is currently on sale on The Kooples’s official site. It’s been marked down from $565 and can be purchased here!
To add a some personality to her ‘fit, Draya went for a classic approach…
The fashionista donned a The Kooples textured sun bonnet that uplifts rabbit suede and a leather band with eyelets. Perfect for a day filled with outdoor festivities!
Marjorie Harvey posted on Instagram in the same Balmain Resort 2016 look once sported by Kendall Jenner:
Both ladies opted for strappy shoes; Mrs. Harvey worked a brown camisole while Kendall opted for a chic crop top.
If you look closely, the ladies are actually wearing two versions of the same looks. Marjorie’s more geometric ensemble is from Balmain’s Resort 2016 collection.
Kendall’s was modeled in Balmain’s Spring 2016 runway show.
Both ladies look great! Kill it out real quick.
What do you think?
*Lil Kim and EJ Johnson have both worn the cardigan in this look.
What a day this has been! Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Orlando and the LGBTQ community: the latter which continues to be such a strong and pivotal force in fashion all over the globe. Though it cannot be easy for anyone to shift their minds to an awards show on such a harrowing day, it does serve as a nice distraction—especially on a night when there is so much diversity in nominees at the Tonys.
Let’s see what our favorite stylish celebs are wearing, shall we?
Lupita Nyong’o was clad in a floral print, off-the-shoulder BOSS gown. Simply stunning. I hope she takes home the Best Lead Actress in a play award!
Jourdan Dunn was pretty in pink in a strapless Zac Posen gown. Just an effortless Sunday slay…
Yellow is one of the night’s trending colors so far: it’s personally my favorite shade. Perhaps we’ll chalk it up to Bey’s influence in the year of Lemonade! Lucy Liu shut the red carpet down in a princess-esque Zuhair Murad gown in the sunny hue. Werk Lucy!
Danai Gurira couldn’t be missed in a yellow Rosie Assoulin gown with a cascading hem, berry lips, and suede pumps. She’s the only female writer up for Best Play for Eclipsed, so we hope she walks away with the award!
Joan Smalls looked every bit the supermodel in a red and black Altuzarra gown with silver sequins and a plunging neckline.
Danielle Brooks was a vision in navy Derek Lam.
Cynthia Erivo was definitely a sight to behold in a long-sleeve, printed Cavalli dress with tiered ruffles. Hot!
Expert draping and jewel tones are Juan Carlos Obando’s signatures. They were both combined in a cobalt halter gown on Uzo Aduba.
Before winning Best Featured Actress in a Musical, Renee Elise Goldsberry put a daring spin on stripes in Marc Jacobs.
Daveed Diggs gave a fresh spin on the timeless double-breasted suit with printed sleeves. So cool! I can’t wait for Hamilton to sweep tonight.
Patina Miller showed off her toned gams in a red and black J.Mendel dress with a high-low hem.
Another gorgeous black and white look! Liya Kebede was a runway dream in Proenza Schouler.
Alicia Quarles was a breath of fresh Spring air in a watercolor print dress, accented with a beautiful bow. Pretty!
Pascale Armand went bold in a yellow sleeveless dress with slit detailing. She’s a beauty and nominated for the Best Featured Actress in a play for the night.
Justin Guarini repped for the fellas in all black. So dapper, no?
A modern take on black and white was on the agenda for Jenna Ushkowitz. I liked this!
Thalia also wore yellow, slipping on a form-fitting mermaid gown with a gold metallic belt.
Daniel Bae…sorry I meant Dae Kim! What’s not to like about his expertly-tailored suit?
Leona Lewis was on-trend in a black, slip-inspired dress: accessorized with a crystal-embellished choker and red lips. Hot!
Keri Russell was the lady in red in a long-sleeve number in the fiery hue, with crystal-adorned sleeves and matching lips.
Cate Blanchett never disappoints! Her edgy, leather-paneled Louis Vuitton dress was so chic.
Allison Williams was white hot in a custom DKNY tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit. In a word: clean!
It was all about sequins and cutout shoulders for Rose Byrne in custom Thakoon, hand-in-hand with Bobby Cannavale. They’re a gorgeous couple!
Black and white never looked so elegant on Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. This was beautiful.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead wore a Zuhair Murad party for a dress, with multicolor sequins and an illusion bodice. So much fun!
Another simple, yet refined navy gown was worn for the night on Claire Danes in Narciso Rodriguez.
The man of the evening, Lin Manuel-Miranda, kept it timeless in a black tux. It’s impossible to not have a huge crush on this guy!
Common always looks good on the red carpet and this time was no exception.
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Heather Headley out and about! She wore the night’s favorite shade in a printed yellow gown.
Sophie Okonedo was clad in a conversation-starting, off-the-shoulder, floral print gown. She’s exquisite!
Karolina Kurkova layered a black and gold leather jacket over a pared-down black gown with a thigh-high slit. I live for her style.
Hamilton beauty Phillipa Soo went high-fashion in Prabal Gurung. This was lovely.
Who had your favorite look of the night? Stay tuned as we update with all of the night’s looks!
Rihanna was spied out and about in LA in a Balenciaga stole, Tom Ford sandals, and the same Spring 2015 Matthew Dolan Oversized Denim Jacket she’s worn at least twice before:
The first two times, she espoused a more tomboy viva, wearing the jacket with a backwards baseball cap and roomy separates, all the while rocking dope heels. The most recent twirl was decidedly more girly, as she wore the piece over a vintage Dior dress and Tom Ford sandals.
The piece was modeled with oversized denim jeans.
Not quite sure what Rih sees in this jacket, but it’s certainly a favorite! I’m more of a girly girl so her latest look is my preference. What about you?
