Some celebrities play it safe, while others incorporate whacky styles that age poorly and don’t do them any favors—but a select few celebrities manage to pull off iconic styles that not only help set the trend for the fashion world but remain timeless and continue to be remembered as some of the best fashion moments in history. If you’re looking to spice up your wardrobe and want some ideas, get some inspiration from these celebs.

<h2>Best Dressed</h2>

Rihanna

Rihanna has always known how to make a statement—from her early days in the music scene to conquer the world of beauty and skincare with her Fenty line of products, Rihanna has managed to rock every style you can imagine and still look sensational. Rihanna knows how to, whether it’s a slinky, nude-colored evening gown complete with embroidery or the monochromatic white minidress, jacket, and boots she wore to Top Dawg Entertainment’s holiday concert wow a crowd. She even looks good in sweatpants, as she proved in an Instagram post where she donned an ensemble by Wu Wear in 2017.

Zendaya

Zendaya is relatively young, but her style choices both on red carpets and strolling around town show that she has a sense for fashion well beyond her years—and she’s quickly on the path to becoming a Hollywood fashion icon in her own right. In fact, in addition to her popularity as an actress, the Euphoria star has recently struck out into the world of fashion with her very own clothing and accessories line.

Suppose the mesmerizing black and red gown she wore for the world premiere of The Greatest Showman in New City or the white embroidered gown by Ralph & Russo that she wore to the Beasts and Beauties ball in Paris in 2017 are any indications of her aesthetic palette. In that case, her clothing line is sure to become a smash hit.

Jennifer Lopez

We’re convinced that this woman is a witch—not only is she seemingly impervious to physical aging, her fashion sense not only never looks dated but continues to set the trends in the fashion world in 2021 after her rise to fame in the late ‘90s/early aughts. We’ve experienced more than one Jennifer Lopez Renaissance throughout her storied career—the most recent coming on the heels of her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck.

J.Lo seems happier than ever and has seriously been dressing to impress, including the jaw-dropping string bikini and caftan she wore on a yacht trip for her 52nd birthday, which set the fashion world ablaze with praise for the look.

Harry Styles

This list wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of testosterone—not that Harry Styles isn’t comfortable getting in touch with his feminine side! The former One Direction heartthrob made headlines this year when he graced the cover of Vogue magazine in a full-length dress and satin sport coat. The issue certainly drew controversy on both sides of the aisle, including from Pose star Billy Porter—often seen gracing the red carpets in dresses, himself—who criticized the magazine for selecting Styles as the first man to wear a dress on the cover of an issue.

Regardless of which side you’re on, there’s no question that Harry Styles is in the business of pushing the envelope—and he’s done it with beautiful style on more than one occasion.

Reese Witherspoon

It’s not just Reese Witherspoon’s iconic character in Legally Blonde, who is a bit of a style maven. Witherspoon, herself, has shown up over the years with some impressive looks—albeit, her looks typically showcase her preppy, “girly girl” fashion sense without doing much to push the envelope. Sometimes there simply isn’t a need to reinvent the wheel, and Witherspoon shows that some iconic looks really are timeless.

Not only that, the Hollywood starlet—whose career as an A-lister reaches back to the early 00s—has made her cute, sensible fashion sense accessible for the average woman with her fashion label Draper James, which now includes a line of clothing with pieces available for under $100.

Kim Kardashian

In terms of celebrity culture, there probably isn’t a more polarizing public figure on the planet Earth than Kim Kardashian—the only celebs that come close are her sisters, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie, as well as other members of her immediate family. That being said, Kim Kardashian’s style has defined the fashion sense of an entire generation of Instagram influencer hopefuls—with nude-colored body cons that put her incredible figure on display and makeup that never fails to define the term “on fleek”

That being said, her typically winning fashion looks, Kim recently had us scratching our heads when she donned a full-body Balenciaga number at the 2021 Met Gala that entirely concealed her skin—including her face! You’re not likely to see this outfit on your next grocery run, but the outfit definitely had people talking!

Bella Hadid

Another polarizing figure in the fashion world, there’s no denying that Bella Hadid looks stunning in almost anything she wears. In recent years, she’s given up a more provocative image—which Hadid attributes to pressures from the fashion industry early in her career—in favor of more striking, high-fashion looks. And she certainly has the chops to pull these off with incredible style.

Hadid recently drew the fashion world’s attention when she wore a plunge-neck velvet dress to the Cannes film festival—but it wasn’t her neckline that was catching eyes. It was the enormous, solid-gold lung-shaped necklace draped around her neck that stole the show. It was a bold fashion risk that was a rousing success—we’re still thinking about it!

Conclusion

One thing that’s true for both celebrities and everyday people? You should wear what makes you comfortable. The term “fashionable” is relative. To icons like legendary designer Iris Apfel—whose quirky styles of puzzled, amused, and fascinated the New York fashion scene for decades—true style means being anything but boring. Others may be more conservative. While this list reflects some of our favorite style gurus, it’s important to remember that beauty is, indeed, in the eye of the beholder.
