  2. Visible lacefront glue aside, she is a pretty and fit girl. But there’s not much versatility in her outfits. Way too much spandex and Herve Leger! I wish she showed more variety. She has some cute pieces but based on what she submitted, nothing too exciting. And those lashes in the last picture are a little much.

  6. hmmmm. she’s chic but I can agree there’s not much versatility. I have the same stripped black and white bcbg skirt and I would have never thought to wear it with a blouse similar to the one she is wearing. Her makeup was not on point, her hair is a mess, and those lashes a FAIL. but you cute girl lol

  9. I don’t think “everyone is [being] negative”. We are giving our opinions…some more to the point then others. It is not the first time she’s been on this site so I’m sure she knows what she was getting into. The whole point of this feature is to give our opinions on a particular subject’s style. We aren’t always going to like it and we should feel free to explain what we do and don’t like about a particular subject.

  16. Thanks everyone for the comments!! I love it!! This is me…this is my style!!! I’m a professional athlete and I practice 4-5 times a week. I have not time to do my hair. I have experienced with so many different techniques and processes. Check out my site to see my different looks and treatments I have tried. I now choose to stay natural and when I go out and don’t have time to do my hair I throw some clip ons in or a wig on.

    I spend most of my time in sweaty athletic wear and trust me it’s not easy. To get back in tune with my feminine side I like to dress sexy at night. This is the style of a busy athlete :)

Should you need a reference for “Avant Garde” and “High Fashion” to update your portfolio, please start with a look at Gareth Pugh and follow the bread crumbs.

  29. i totally agree with her on it being more important to spend time and money on fitness and health (gym and eating healthy food which can be expensive) then clothing, because your health is going to be the only thing that matters 30 years from now. to that end, i think her body looks great and she has great skin. her hair and makeup though, could stand to be improved. i agree with the clothes being club looks, they don’t show the most range.

    1.SHE did not call anyone a hater.
    2.It does appear that she did call in the cavalry to defend her style here.
    3.One member of the cavalry (“buddy” = said person) was directed to do further research on his chosen craft.
    4.Tanyka is in great shape. But in my humble opinion, one needs a bigger range before they are on Bombshell status. We’ve seen better.

She looks nice, and if you got it flaunt, if I had a body like hers I would be living in a nudist colony. And Gareth Pugh is repulsive, he is to fashion what Sarah Palin is to politics.

  46. P.S. I didn’t add ‘Alexander Wang Spring 2010’ dress to label drop. I simply used it to describe a dress I saw her in on her website. It looks very different from most of the other dresses seen in her pictures. Since many people commented that a lot of her looks were similiar, I thought this dress showed her versatility.

    Ms. Tanyka, do your thang.

    These are pics of someone wearing what they feel sexy in. I think we all, as women, can appreciate that. I think 2011 is the year for positive ish and female empowerment.

  48. I think most people are just jealous that she takes care of her body (works out). I for one stay in the gym and can make the simplest thing hot because my body is hot. A lot of women/men have no clue about staying fit. Her ‘fits are not as bad as the comments.

For those of you that are emailing me and posting on here wondering why I didn’t post the pics that were on my site and on facebook…..I sent Claire lots of pics….not all the clothing was tight….I guess these are the pics that she liked….and yes…the alexandar wang dress was one of the pics that didn’t get chosen..

    Lol….I love all the comments…..the good thing about fashion is that you can do whatever you want. It’s a form of expression and if I feel the need to express myself in a tight dress or a garbage bag that’s me.

    I’m not into labels ….I’m into my health…something that I have to live with forever. If I am wearing a label in one of the pics above it wasn’t because of the name it was because I like how the garment fit.

  66. Oh….and those of you that want to know how I stay fit and how I keep my skin so clear…

    I eat healthy. There are no short cuts. As African American woman many of us are still eating the food that was put in front of us as slaves. Everything we eat has an effect on our body. This effect can be good or bad.

    We need to take more time to listen to our bodies…study the results that different foods have on your body. If the food your eating has bad side effects(gas, bloating, tiredness etc.)….it is not good for you.

    To many of us are dying to young for stupid reasons. Educate yourself on what your putting inside of your body. Many of us look fly on the outside but are dying in the inside!!! I rather be a fashion bomb on the inside than outside!!!

This young woman clearly said that HER style was sexy and chic and this is what she give’s in all the photo’s(hence I’m sure this is why they were chosen so that the content and photos all align and flow). Kudos to Tanyka. I’ve seen this girl on the scene plenty of times and she is definitely gorgeous and very stylish. Give her a break ya’ll. Even if she was butt ugly and couldn’t dress worth a damn, her positivity and intellect on everything over the mind, body, and spirit was more then enough to blow me away. Big-ups to her.

    and btw, just because someone makes a reference to their status and you’ve happen to never heard of them it doesn’t mean they don’t own that status! (Socialite, model, stylist, etc.)
