  31. I don’t mind her style…However, what is it with these fake, exaggerated eyebrows that many of the girls of color and “so called” make-up artist are wearing on Youtube and Instagram? This is an epidemic and this nonsense must stop. It looks like they just picked up a kit of Mr. Potato Head parts and decide to use the brows. Just another way to make us look unnatural in addition to the abundance of weaves, extensions and the like. The trend for eyebrows is more natural, athletic-shaped so I”m desperately wondering where this came from? When we will grasp the fact we don’t have to do SOO much. I wish more that more of us would just enhance the beauty we have instead creating something that looks a mess.

  42. I remember reading an article in ELLE it was 30 different make-up looks in 30 days. One of the looks was an exaggerated eyebrow. Perhaps the bombshell saw the article and decided to give it a try as I plan on doing when I work up the nerve. Some us don’t mind trying out new things even if it’s a fail. Anyway on to her clothes. My eye for fashion goes beyond my personal aesthetic. I look for the execution in the look the bombshell was going for and give POSITIVE critiques from there. Her style is basic but that’s not a fashion kiss of death when done properly which she does. Kudos to her, she dressed her shape well and plays with color nicely.

    I do think that in general, the Bombshell submitters and Claire should lean towards including submissions with higher quality photos. I’d love to see the details of that leopard print cutout dress but I’ll pass because that blurry mirror pic is hurting my 30 y/o eyes. :(

  49. It’s really baffling to me that if you dislike a fashion bomb you are deemed negative, judgmental a “hater” etc blah blah.

    These photos are submitted for us to critique and give our opinion on.
    I do agree there is a way to be tactful and respectful while still giving an honest opinion (calling someone ugly is out of line) however there are only so many ways to break bad/tacky style down and honestly, anything one wants to say regarding the persons “fashion” is acceptable (IMO). We all gave credit where credit was due (Key is beautiful) and we all gave our opinion about her style and those eyebrows (for all those calling everyone haters, your telling me her eyebrows aren’t questionable???)

    Props to Key for serving our country and props to her beautiful face and body but her style is basic – which of course is fine. She dresses like the average women in America with some fashion sense. You can tell she enjoys dressing up and that’s all that matters.

    Anyway, I need all you “ya ya hater, negative” chicks to have a seat – this isn’t the post for sensitivity.

    We all don’t have to agree on fashion…like art, it’s subjective. There is nothing about being honest (nor should you feel that you can’t be honest) with your critiques but there is no need to be condescending. People submit knowing that opinions will come, and not all will be in your favour, but the insults and the tearing down is so unnecessary and no one signs up for that. But they are not the only ones that take it to far….for those who are disappointed with the remarks/comments, why fight fire with fire? Lead by example. Your point gets lost when you start name calling and other degrading remarks.

  76. A while ago on this site, every time there was a fbd, I used to give what I thought was critique. If it was good or bad, I gave it. Until one day I realized that it’s not that deep, and it was mean. Even though I felt like I was being honest, the negativity was uncalled for.
    All the fashion bombshells want to do is submit their pics and showcase their style. Telling them that their weave is bad or make-up is horrible and that you hate everything is harsh. Even though Claire asks what we think, do we really have to break everything apart? If you don’t like it, why can’t you just pick the “do not like” button and keep it moving?
    Reading the comments are disheartening now. Ehh, but that’s just my two cents.

  77. I’m IN LOVE with that leopard dress otherwise, the outfits are cute but I’m not feeling it. Definitely appreciate that she’s serving our country though.

  79. Like the leopard print dress, casual but with a touch of sexy. Overall enjoyed all the outfits and thought she looked rather cute.

    It’s true about the brows though. They are too arched, and drawn in too boldly. Very unnatural. You might try using a stencil- they sell them in Walgreens and beauty supply store near the eyelashes. Ardell makes a set you might like that provides different shapes to choose from. Might be helpful to fill in brows using a flat liner brush and brow powder OR a pencil (keep at a 45 degree slant and use short strokes).

    Otherwise loved ya! Very proud to see a woman who as part of our troops knows how to be strong, yet feminine and sexy at the same time.

  80. Thank you @A Bit of Advice. Everybody is talking about her brows, but aren’t giving her tips on how to better execute them. Your advice is exactly on point. I would also add that using a dark brown instead of black can also help you achieve a more natural brow.

    Being a woman in the military is rough. Calling attention to your femininity is frowned upon so I can see she loves to take full advantage while out of uniform!

    Her looks are cute and fun. I wish we’d get away from this notion that being fashionable means you have to put on some grand display how unorthodox you can be.
