All of her clothes are cute, but most of the pattern mixing didn’t work for me.
Not feeling the pattern mixing, at all but the ‘shapes’ are nice for her figure.

Best asset is that gorgeous smile. But I agree some of these looks are all over the place.
Well, I think she has the most important aspect down – dressing for your body and knowing what cuts, shapes, silhouettes work you.
However, the pattern and color mixing she is doing is all wrong. When you mix patterns and colors it needs to be in a cohesive way. Even if the prints and colors are from 2 different spectrum’s there is a way (when doing it right) for everything to blend and flow together.
I think due to the fact that she is trying so hard to be “unique”, she is doing way too much.
If her clothes were ill fitting this would have been a total disaster.
Her saving grace is that the clothes fit her shape.
Also, (not related to fashion) her hair is a distraction and I don’t think the shape of her hair compliments her face. However, it does match the “all overness” of the colors and prints she’s wearing….#noshadenotea

Hair is fierce! The pattern mixing… not so much. I thought even with pattern mixing that the patterns should at least compliment each other??

Well I think she looks absolutely fab, confident and radiant! Most people are scared of color and most women of plus size shy away.. Most of you who are commenting I would love to see what your wardrobe looks like! Celebrities do this all the time and anyone that watches the fashion reality shows/runway events know very well that this is how the lines look. Hence Project Runway! Nothing in the fashion industry is boring anymore, it’s about stepping outside the box.
I’m going to say this: in the black community, clothes/colors have to match and everyone has what someone else has or looks the same.. There is no uniqueness at all. In the white communities it’s all about labels of designers and how much the clothes cost but it’s boring and predictable. There is nothing wrong with mixing prints and her hair is fine! If a celebrity like Beyonce wears her hair crazy the public eats it up as if she created it but a regular person can’t pull it off! People are so scared of change and being who they really are and that’s why there so many unhappy people in the world!
Ashley you rocked every outfit and your hair is on point! Stay confident and be who you are and judging from your look/smile I know this reflects your personality which I am sure is awesome :-)!

Hit and miss. I like the mint green dress. But the pattern mix (with the 1980s bright and the leopard) is a definite miss.

CONGRATS! Bombshell. I can agree your style of dress is not for everyone (as the commentators so carefully illustrated). I myself as your friend may not like ALL your choices but that’s why i dont wear it! As for YOU, i think you have created a new trend “ALL OVERNESS”. People obviously agree that you have something but are not being able to categorize you is a PLUS. The one thing i will say is baby we ROCK VERY STURDY FOUNDATION PIECES! So never question whats under her ‘fit’!

I like your unique style, I saw 4 outfits with print mixing, and I liked 2. I thought the cheetah with the tribal print was inspired.
Don’t let these comments get you down. “Whatever happened to casual black pants jeans?” <-This is not how everybody does casual and to me it's boring. But I wouldn't knock anyone else who dressed that way. Many times people can't get with anything other than their own style. It's closeminded and not your fault, lol.

The prints are a little overpowering but I see the style she is trying to transmit. It’s fresh, intense, colorful and it’s her charisma which makes it UNIQUE. I love the hair in the photo with the tribal top and leopard printed dress/skirt. It’s not easy finding the right prints, styles, let alone sizes for curvy women. Ashley’s confidence shines through any wardrobe mishap.

The thing that stood out most to me in this post is her statement about her growing up and not seeing women with her figure being praised for how beautiful they were. More so than the mixing of patterns. Kudos to Ashley for having the confidence to define her own image of personal style and beauty

I actually love her hair because I love big hair. I know she’s trying to be different and find her own style, however, the prints don’t make since together. Like Camilla said, there’s a way to mix prints and still have a completely cohesive look. She will hopefully learn though.

I love to see a fellow big girl with fashion flair…but honey them prints even on a smaller woman are not working. Some of the patterns just do not compliment each other. I dress for me. I wear patterns that I like and if i decide to but them together I do. I viewed all comments on this site as a matter of opinion. Everyone is entitled to one :) Before I entered the contest, I took that into consideration of what people would say. My skin is pretty tough and TRUST ME I have heard alot worse!!!! I never thought I would win so just the experience alone is cool. It’s just a fun contest, I wouldn’t know any of these people if they were starring me in my eyes!
