“Ankara styles, tribal attire, african prints, whatever you call this cloth, isn’t a trend. African women have worn it forever and now we’re finding new ways to make it flatter our lifestyles!”

  1. Archel! Love your looks! have been an admirer from afar, as you and my big sis Krystle are close friends in LIB : ) So proud to see you on a site that I am such a big fan of!

  2. Hmmm… I think the romper is too short and too tight, throwing all the proportions off. The black dress with the pattern collar looks a little dated. My favorite look is the last one. I don’t know why but I feel like it wasn’t enough. I want to like but I feel like I can’t even vote because I need more to go off of-Is there a voting option for that?

  3. Hmm, these pics don’t give her fashion line or her love of West African style justice (see: Truth or Dare Romper or Danielle Jumpsuit). The last fit is the best on her. A new blog follower here though: she’s a fashion griot!

  4. I love the simplicity of her look, and how she really lets the print be the focal point instead of overdoing it with an added garment. And she is gorgeous (male perspective).

  5. She’s such a beautiful woman with a mega watt smile. She got Fashion Bomb of the day from me for that alone.

  6. love, love love her style! i adore the way she rocks her prints, absolutely gorgeous! I’m hitting up her shop for sure!!

  7. I stopped commenting on that segment last year and usually skips it, but today it took a young lady from Atlanta to make me click on this post. I have a soft spot for my African people and I live for Ankara prints. Thanks Archel for submitting your photos. I will check your site.

  8. ayy my Liberian girl! Love your incorporation of the African prints in your wardrobe.

  9. You are simply the best at being you, and I love it. So proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Big Up Shelbs!!

  10. To know Chels is to love her. To know her story is to respect and admire her and to wear her clothes is a honor. I am so proud of her! She is definitely a BOMBSHELL! Always has been and always will Be!

  11. Thanks everyone for all the love I woke up to this morning! My mom agrees the romper is too tight as well. “Those Fashion Bomb readers sure make good points!” Much love from Monrovia. xx

  12. BOMBSHELLL! Not gonna front she’s my friend since we both moved back home to LIB from the states! But she’s a bombshell because her style made me change my entire wardrobe…we don’t have to have the heavy long dresses to wear “African” like our mothers did. I wear them on a daily because Archel’s designs represent our culture but keep it cute, sexy, and fun for 20 and 30 somethings. Now the “other” girls are asking us where they can get our African look. So proud of you Arch! Keep it up

  13. love it all of it and her smile can make u pay for services even if u dont want it.

  14. I find it funny that someone mentioned she relies too much on prints. She said in her statements that she loves her heritage and loves prints. If that’s your thing, then go for it. Beautiful girl! I love the prints, especially the yellow and black pants. Can I have those? :-) I do think some of the fits don’t flatter her shape. Regardless, beautiful!

  15. In all honesty her style us ok and easy on the eyes. I didn’t see anything that wowed me. Cute young lady with ok style,at least she isn’t rocking club outfits in each pic.

  16. I fell in love with her pieces when Claire featured her about a year ago. I submitted orders, emails and everything… never heard back.

Aside from that.. her style is great.

  17. @11reasons can you send me an email? I’ve shipped everything that’s been submitted via my big cartel and a bunch of cool custom ones via email, promise! If I overlooked anything let me know please. All my errors get great freebies in their shipments!
