Happy Wednesday!
Today’s Bombshell is Zubaida, a Nigerian born, Toronto Based Fashion Design Student.

She writes, “Growing up I was really shy and more of a tom-boy so I didn’t know what to do with my look besides baggy clothes (I remember telling my friends that my curves were a curse lol).”

” But as I grew, I learned to embrace myself, and my curves and now I just try to have fun with what I wear !”

“I would describe my style as Feminine, Fun & Sensuous.”

“You’ll catch me in a basic all – black outfit (jeans and crop tops) every once in a while when I’m working or at school, but 95% of what I wear out, are my own designs.”

“I don’t know if this is going to be added to the post but I see a lot of harsh comments on FBD especially under bombshell posts and I just think people need to loosen up because someones personal style is just an extension of their personality.”

” It’s great that we have a platform like FBD to show our styles, and that people get to vote, but really the only feelings that count are those of the woman wearing them and that is ENOUGH.”

” Every woman has a right to wear what she wants and thats all “FBD – Bombshell of the day” stands for – Individual Expression.”

  1. If I read that right, she was implying most of what she was wearing are her own creations? If so, double props. Some of it was a lil boring but it all looked good on her and showed she knows what to accentuate and how….except the black jumpsuit. That missed the mark slightly. But I would say she is a bombshell-in-training for sure. Great submission. Nice backgrounds.

  2. Her body is A1! I love her simple sexy designs. That green cut-out dress in the 1st pic gave me life.

  3. Girl, what curves??? but your pics were great. cute clothes and it looked professionally done. great work.

  4. GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! She has that, “I slay.” presence.

As far as style is concerned…a variety in shoes would be great!

  5. Some of he rooks reminded me of Halston. The big problem is the shoes. Your shoe game needs a major upgrade. Don’t be scared of wearing more color in your wardrobe. Not bad, but I feel her style will evolve some more.

  6. You dead wrong for submitting that bathing suit picture-I’m soo damn jealous. Nonetheless, beautiful woman, but kind of hard to say she is a bombshell, but definitely has sex appeal.

  7. @KABER you’re a hater. She has curves

I’m impressed by the fact that she makes her own clothes, she has room to grow but I say BOMBSHELL

  8. Her expression seems so sad like there’s a disconnect. Power to her. With work she may actually be a bombshell. I do agree on the shoe game. Major upgrade needed.

  9. Shoe game is weak . You call those curves? Lol Still she has good height and presence and makes some of these basic looks work for her. Bombshell? I think not.

  10. Give credit where it is due. She is gorg and well put together! Head-to-toe. Understated and simply chic.

  11. Damn from the recent posts I am quickly forming an opinion that Nigerian women are gorgeous! Wtf are they drinking? I need to get my fat arse to the gym :/

  12. she has curves. not only obese women are curvy please. zubaida darling, if ur submission is great. i love the black dress with the lace underneath. however, are you saying when you submit photos, you dont want comments? we should just observe and nod right? cos this site as with every other site that leaves room for commenrs, means there’ll be criticism too. not everyone is going to like what u wear. now, if i see u on the street with a hideous dress, i wont walk up to you and give my 2 cents; if however, you bring it here and i have an opinion, ul see it. it is narcissistic to submit to a forum where fashion is critiqued and where the owner of the blog often asks us to write our thoughts on what has been submitted as part of her summary of the submission and say you have a right to wear what you want without criticism. even claire gets criticised when she doesnt get it right. its really not that serious. get over it

  13. @Kendra, honest criticism can be gently given. It doesn’t have to be harsh. She’s not saying you can’t criticize, I think she means being mean for being mean sake. Like leaving fashion to talk about someone’s weight or edges or being too harsh about the clothes for eg too cheap, looks like my grandmother, she has a butter face etc Until you’re on the receiving side, you don’t know how it hurts and even Claire doesn’t laugh off criticisms of her fashion choices all the time.

  14. I think she’s absolutely right about the negativity on here. Criticism should be done fairly and shouldn’t be mean-spirited. I applaud the women who are brave enough to put themselves up for this kind of critique.

  15. Great hair, body, and clothes! I agree with her that it only matters that you feel good in what you wear, you can’t worry about what others have to say. They will ALWAYS have something to say!
