  1. I don’t really think anything here would make me ask where’d you get that. Bombshell hair though! That most definitely stood out to me more than anything.

  2. I love the 1st 3 looks, the rest, naw. That bee dress is really cute but there’s a fit issue. I would also try a different eyeglass shape.

  3. The bombshells have been on a downhill spiral since last week. When it’s good it’s really good. This submission is just ok. Shrugs.

  4. Your hair in the third picture is too fabulous! I think the romper and the bumblebee dress is cute.

  5. I’d definitely wear that floral print jacket/shorts combo (this is coming from someone who usually avoids prints and bright colors). It just caught my eye and I love how it looks on her.

Overall I vote bombshell because her style is simple and coherent, her outfits are put together well and she didn’t go overboard on accessories.

  6. Love her look, especially the yellow bee dress, and her hair is her best accessory.

Question: Is every girl with bright clothes and a big ‘fro Solange-ish. Love me some Solange but you know black girls were working color and rocking naturals before she came on the scene, right?

  7. Love her hair. Style is “meh”.Love those black shoes in style #3. I’d love to see her hair up in a high bun.

  8. Her hair is amazing. Throw away the mom pants or anything that puts attention to your midsection.

  9. She’s cute! I think her style is nice too. Her hair though is the star of this show! Her hair is so gorgeous and I love the different ways she rocked it!

  10. Love her hair too.. I agree with @KBS, the eyeglass shape is wrong wrong for her face.

  11. This is a very different side of Houston! This girl has a lot of potential the first three outfits were great which made the last three look bad bc they were just alright. She looks like she is still trying to define her style. It will probably evolve and get more focused in a few years. Her hair gives me serious HAIR ENVY though!!

Just an aside. I follow this page pretty religiously and have been thinking a lot lately about style vs. taste. There are a number of young women who present well – meaning they dress nice – like Ashleigh from the Daleigh blog or Foloshade (sp.) from Style Pantry. They make great choices and put together amazing outfits that look tasteful and chic on them, but (in my opinion) they aren’t necessarily “stylish”. On the other hand you have bloggers like Tiffany from The Werk Place and Krystin from Be Loud Be You who are *style* mavens! They pull together outfits from the same resources we all have fast fashion chains (H&M, Zara, etc), a few high end retailers and thrift/vintage stores – but they don’t look like anyone else. None of their style is predictable, and they stretch beyond the ordinary trends. They had also defined their personal styles Tiffany is a master of print mixing and understated elegance with a statement shoe. Krystin has the whole vintage/contemporary mix *down* with a lot of sex appeal. This is a long ass comment, but I’d love to see a conversation happen on this site about the difference between dressing well and having great style. A lot of these submissions are all over the place because the sisters presenting are stuck between the two places or don’t have a clue about either. Claire has amazing style and great taste. There is a huge learning opportunity for the hoards of young women who come here and are interested in fashion but don’t have other spaces to learn. I think the fashionbombshell could also use some guidelines. Not to control what people submit in terms of clothes but as a guide when they are selecting what outfits to submit.

Sorry guys the writer/mother/mentor in me came out today. Hope I don’t offend anyone with my long self indulgence. ;-)

  12. U know what the above said is true. Hell, I may even fit into the dress very well, but not style maven. But , I def have a few statement pieces (shoes, jewerly, etc) that helps.

  13. @FortyistheNewForty love your comment! I just found some new blogs to check out. Thank you.

I’m not really for her fashions, except for that yellow dress. Her hair is life though!

  14. @FortyistheNewForty 1st I love your handle, second, i agree with your comment. I also asked years ago if there was criteria for BS, because sometimes the submissions are all over the place.

  15. i LOVE IT.. SHE HAS A SOLANGE FEEL TO HER
AND HER HAIR IS GORGEOUS.. SHES EFFORTLESSLY BEAUTIFUL
