Hey!
So as you undoubtedly saw on Instagram, we kicked off a new Fashion Bomb TV feature this weekend called Cocktails with Claire: Closet Confessions. The idea is to profile and uncover the style of a fly fashionista by sitting in their closet over cocktails, and talking about clothes!
Cocktails with Claire Closet Confession Peter Pilotto DJ kiss
I chose the fabulous DJ Kiss as my first subject because I think she has great taste, and knew her closet was to die for.
Check it out:

What do you think of this new feature?
And would would you like to see next?
See more of Kiss’s style on her blog XOXO-Kiss.com.
Thanks to Moët Nectar Impérial Rosé for fueling all our fashionable fun!

*A few of you asked about my top. It’s by Peter Pilotto, from his Fall 2012 collection. I last wore it here. Shoes are Peter Pilotto x Nicholas Kirkwood, also from last season. You can still snag a pair or two at Antonioli.eu.

  1. Great Feature, stylish and wow i thought she was humble and practical. Food for thought, I don’t shop just to shop.

  2. Claire great job! This is a great new series and I love that you featured DJ Kiss. I really adore her style! I’ll be looking forward to more of these features.

  3. omg, that was fun!! Claire, you are so pretty!…..anyway, i like how you pulled the items off the rack so we could see them clearly. and who did your makeup??? Solange next please! Thanks!

  4. Very informative – new spotlight on designer – love her way of shopping – but classic, timeless, luxury pieces that you can wear over & over. I love the chic style & modern touch she bring to her fashion choices. Accessories are key to a women everyday look & she have a clean way of throwing a great statement piece of Jewerly (jazz up). Hands down this Kiss can dress. I love her quote, if you know the designer, you do. If you don’t, you don’t. Oh well! Lol it was the correct way of saying “stop shopping at your local department stores” it’s all about branching out and exploring different designers and styles. Great great video. Sidebar: I am going to try your drink cocktail ;) keep it up. . . I would love for you for you to do a regular fashionBomber style closet. That would be dope… !

  5. oh, other closets i would like to see are Angela Simmons and Eudoxxie, Ludacris’ girlfriend.

  6. I absoluteley loveddddddddddd this!!! You two ladies have excellent style :) I would love to see your closet Claire :)

  7. You went over this before, but please(maybe in another post) how do you afford these things? She mentioned several times she’s not rich. It can’t all be sample sales. Anyway…
Claire, first your face is perfection, deets on the lip color please. Second I absolutely LOVE this new post. The Style network used to do stuff like this, but IDK what happened. Third if you could ever possibly get into Giovanna Battaglia’s closet, that would be absolute insanity! And forth, my note to self is to get a closet big enough to seat 2 people and a camera guy in, sheesh.

  8. Claire great job. This is what’s missing. I love to see the inside of other women’s closets. Especially women who are chic and put together. Keep it coming!

  9. Loved this feature. The sound and mic set up could have been better. Other than that…this was an awesome piece. Both you girls always look stunning!!

    Kudos!

  10. I LOVED this segment and will be looking forward to more. It was fun to watch and I felt like I was watching a piece on E or Style network.
I think it would be better if you had those tiny clip on mics instead of the hand-held it would make the transitions of the conversation flow better. I don’t kow how feasible but food for thought.

  11. Claire girl when I tell you I was all into this !!! My eyes were glued to the screen lol !! Everything was on point, it flowed very well, it was informative and most of all it was fun ! I honestly could see this on TV . Both of you have amazing style. The idea of having a cocktail while being surrounded by fabulous fashion is killer !! Keep them coming !! You should pitch this idea to a station, this is what the style network missing.

  12. I love this feature, all things informative and useful. I would love to see Serena Williams’ Closet, very curious.

  13. I loved everything about this feature! You look gorgeous! DJ Kiss has such great style…feminine and classy!

Please feature Solange Knowles and June Ambrose.

  14. awesome feature i loved it! Claire you look so beautiful! you both looked like you had a great time! DJ Kiss is gorgeous and so is her ward-robe.

  15. I love this idea, but I would prefer something with text and photos. I don’t watch videos online really.

  16. Great idea to push this site up to the next level! I enjoyed taking a look into her closet; it’s cool that you two have similar taste! A suggestion for improvement (also mentioned in the comments above) would be to use clip-on mics instead of hand-held ones. It would make it easier to pull pieces for a better view, and for us to hear everything said.

Keep up the great work, Claire!

  17. Loved-ed it! Always loved her style! And now I love her even more for reppin’ BK! Great segment! Keep ’em coming!

  18. This was awesome Claire!!! & I love that phrase discreet luxury. I’d love for you to do Solange, Tracee Ellis Ross, Shiona Turini…. Idk theres so many Claire lol

  19. I admire these two women so much and I was so entertained and thrilled by this feature. Please keep them coming!!! I also like that DJ Kiss was humble and talked about how to wear something more than once. Often times with celebrities I assume that they only wear things once but she seems to be taking full advantage of her closet. I wish I could afford to have that many designer clothes with a whole wardrobe of “it” bags, accessories, clothes, and shoes.

  20. I totally expected Claire to have a different tone to her voice in my head- that’s weird. I loved the segment, keep ’em coming!

  21. Thanks for the feedback guys! Jessica Alba might be a bit of a reach, but I can certainly work on securing everyone else!
Yes to clip on mics. Thanks for the suggestions, and I’m glad you liked it!
    xoxo

  22. Wow Claire, this was perfect.. I loved it. DJ Kiss was so sweet and humble. I would love to see your closet :). Angela Simmons, June Ambrose. And even some just every day ladies. This was a great feature.

  23. Shala Monroque!! that’s her name! yeah, i want to see her closet too. And Kimora Lee Simmons Honsou, whatever her name is now.

  24. @kbs to answer your question as to how designer clothing is afforded if someone is not rich…..girl……there are sales EVERYWHERE. i don’t pay full price for jack chit (only my handbags). Let me break it down cuz it is too easy…..

Shoes – Saks, Neimans, Barneys, Bergdorfs, etc., have 2 sales a year. summer & christmas/new year. all i do is look at new inventory, wait for the sale, BOOM, got my new shoes. OR go to your local outlet. In LA, our outlet has Gucci, YSL, Jimmy Choo, Versace, etc….we got it goin on out here.

Clothes – Sales everywhere. You need to get online. Too much going on and you missin it. my fave sites for sales (or discounted items in general) are:
    Yoox
    Farfetch
    Net-A-Porter
    Barney’s Warehouse
    The Outnet
    Luisaviaroma
    Raffaello Network
and Instagram…..yes, i said Instagram. A lot of up and coming designers but i found a Clover Canyon sample sale one day and RUSHED downtown. Don’t sleep on Instagram.

This ain’t a game. It’s too easy. Hope that helps.

  26. Claire, several comments poster, 1st-time video watcher & like WOW! you are super cool & fun just as you appear in photos.

DJ Kiss is my new closet SHERO! she even has the same Ikea Malm dresser that i will now have to paint white ’cause hers looks so much cooler.

i feel like i have to forward this to my daughter for closet inspiration. DJ Kiss is like what i imagined my black Barbie doll lived like when i was little…LOVES!

p.s.~ @ Marguerite thanx for the tips!

i totally cosign with online shopping.

you gotta WAIT. STALK & THEN POUNCE on shiz.

i was totally stalking these Marni shades for a YEAR, and they finally went on their annual sale & scored them for like 75% off. Yoox is a definite player as well for last season Euro designer finds.

    super great post! ;-D
