Yesterday I was invited by the lovely folks over at Stuart Weitzman to a spring shopping event hosted by blogger Man Repeller and dj’ed by Solange Knowles. I’m a fan of Stuart Weitzman shoes (my Snakeskin Platswoon pumps are a fave) and always love a chance to hang with fellow bloggers and Fashion Bomb friends, so headed uptown with Jihan to take a look at the brand’s latest offerings:








A quickly found a few lustworthy shoe styles, including these metallic tipped ‘Capsize’ heels (worn by both the Man Repeller aka Leandra Medine and Solo herself in pink and green respectively)…

…along with a plethora of brightly colored wedges, glittery peep toes, and flat sandals.

After ogling the shoes, I of course said wassup to Solange…

And also met Man Repeller for the first time.

She remembered me from a few tweets during Fashion Week (we were both running late to the Michael Kors show–I think we both missed it, too). Ah, Fashion Week memories.
At any rate, it was a chill night, so I slipped on my ‘editor’s’ uniform of a blazer and pencil skirt:


Y’all know I love me some Helmut Lang, so splurged on the brand’s ‘Era’ blazer (Cassie wore it here; I also included it in this Style Inspiration. Yes, I end up buying stuff I blog about all the time).

I balanced it all out with a pencil skirt from Club Monaco, along with my favorite Gianvito Rossi for Altuzarra wedges.

I kept the black/white theme going with a Barbie/Chanel t-shirt I scored at Kiliwatch in Paris, then added pop with Ruby Woo lipstick. I actually meant to grab my black bag, but was in a rush, so threw everything in my ‘summer’ tote: a Stella McCartney Falabella with silver hardware.

The tote is brown, but to me it looks a little gray. Yeah, it doesn’t really ‘match’, but I figured I could rock with it.

  2. well this explains why we see solonge so much on here. anyyywho. i LIVE for these steel toe shoes they are soooo hot. and i checked out man repeller blog and i like her, shes got a little weird funky look to her with her hair and her face but the blog is really good and she’s a funny writer. i added her to my reads, check her out.

  5. I am really surprised by Weitzman. The steel toe shoes look great, and are right on trend for spring. I’m not usually a fan of their footwear, but they turned this style out.

    You and Solo look so cute and fresh faced. I live for your Altuzarra wedges, hotness.

    I love Leandra’s blog! She’s hilarious, and quite the style maven to suit.

  17. I have no style. Like none whatsoever. I really admire you girls for knowing how to be so creative when it comes to clothes! I wish I can put things together like that. How do you look at different articles of clothing and KNOW how to put it together so amazingly. My closet is just full of boring browns and blacks. Shapless crap. It doesnt match who I am at all! Urgh. Claire you look wonderful..as always. Me on the other hand I look like the neighborhood cat lady…without the cats :(

  22. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way Claire, but every time I see you in a pencil skirt, I think they’re too big for you lol. Aren’t they supposed to be more fitted? Just wondering. Anyway, you look fab as always and I’m inspired to once again to get my legs in rockin’ shape :)

  23. His shoes are classic. I love his designs because he makes shoes for the everyday woman. You wont see him making too many of those popular 5-6 inch staked heels that everyone and their mother is wearing right now. He plays with color with very well, and always adds a modern twist to even his most conserative shoes. I’ve been wanting those capsize heels. You look great Claire.

  33. Claire first you look fab! I must say I love SW. Have a closet full of SW boots and shoes. I have some premier designer shoes but when it comes to a five inch platform with the exception of YSL, no one gets the scaling better than SW. The capsize and the fuschia/coral wedge are on my list too, their 50/50 boots are the truth, the flat and the over the knee. Quality that lasts. Glad to see the Spring/Summer collection!

  47. @Mo Yes, but I’d actually recommend going a half size up, as the pointy toe can be a little compromising.
