If your weekend plans involve something really fun—why not show up pretty in pink? As in pink shadow, pink blush, pink lips–all pink everything. While not for everyone and certainly not for every occasion, wearing varying blush tones on brown skin is a fresh way to flaunt color.
Varying the shades of pink is important as to not have a flat look (i.e. a carnation pink on your eyes, a persian pink on your cheeks, and a fuchsia on your lips or pop pink on the eyes, French rose on the cheeks, and a cherry rose on the lips, etc). You can also break up the pink shades on your eyes by pairing them with a color like purple, blue, green, or even black.
General rule of thumb when picking out pinks: lighter skin tones look great in softer, lighter pinks while more caramel and darker skin tones look great in more vivid, darker pinks.
Quite a number of brands from the drugstore to the department store sell great rosy makeup. Look at brands like Black Radiance, Wet N’ Wild, Milani, MAC, Make Up For Ever, Illamasqua, Urban Decay,–even conservative brands like Bobbi Brown and Clinique offer shades of pink lipstick. There’s no shortage of brands that carry the delightful hue.
Some of my pink picks: MAC Dollymix Blush, MAC Da Bling Eyeshadow, MAC Sushi Flower Eyeshadow, MAC Swish Eyeshadow, MAC Girl About Town Lipstick, MAC Pink Poodle Lipglass, MAC Pink Nouveau Lipstick, Make Up For Ever Fuchsia 26 (can be used as shadow or blush), Make Up For Ever Neon Pink 75 (can be used as shadow or blush), Make up For Ever Candy Pink 85 (can be used as shadow or blush), Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Chased, Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Hussy, tokidoki Perfetto Eyeliner in Donutella, tokidoki Cromatico Eyeshadow in Ciao Ciao.
