• The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Kerry Washington Covers Essence March 2012, Alberta Ferretti For Macy’s Impulse, and Anna Wintour is A Top Fundraiser for the Obama Campaign

Kerry Washington covers Essence Magazine’s March 2012 issue in a white hot dress. What do you think of the shot? (Essence)
    • First she features it-girls Solange Knowles, Julia Sarr-Jamois, and Oroma Elewa in her demi couture runway show, and now, she’s teaming up with Macy’s. Alberta Ferretti is the latest designer to lend her talents to the famed department store’s Impulse collection. The 30-piece capsule is the picture of femininity, with sketches revealing a lace-trimmed blouse and eyelet lace pants (!), and a frothy floor-sweeping draped chiffon gown. The collection will be available in 185 Macy’s stores starting April 17, with prices ranging from $49-$119. So who’s buying? (WWD)

    • Harper’s Bazaar has overhauled the design of its whole magazine, rolling out a cleaner, more modern look for its March issue. Covering the newly revamped issue is Gwyenth Paltrow in a revealing Anthony Vaccarello dress, looking down, possibly making sure none of her ladybits are falling out. The magazine will be an inch longer (still not quite so long as W), have thicker pages, and a more organized layout. The cover you see here is the one that will be sent to subscribers. What do you think of Harpers’ new look? (WWD)

    • Anna Wintour has already raised $500,000 for Barack Obama‘s reelection, making her one of the top-tier “bundlers” for the campaign. How’d she do it? Dinners at her private home and forcing Marc Jacobs to participate in Runway to Win. (The Cut)

Daphne Guinness‘s fifth avenue apartment is on sale for $14 million, but I’m really interested in that fabulous painting featuring Naomi Campbell in her living room. (Curbed)

    • You won’t be seeing Nicki Minaj‘s heelless Giusseppe Zanotti platforms and poor man’s Grace Jones pose on BET anytime soon. The channel that once aired *classic* hip-hop music videos like “Tip Drill,” has banned “Stupid Hoe” for being too explicit. Music videos featuring strippers: ok. Music videos featuring Nicki Minaj shaking her appendage booty in a cage: not ok. (Hello Beautiful)

    • Victoria Beckham‘s fashion film short for her new brand, Victoria by Victoria Beckham is delightfully quirky, playful, and cat-filled. Check it out! (Fashionista)
