• Summer’s only just begun, but the fashion world already has autumn on the brain! WWD has the scoop on the all-important September issue cover girls– and they are very white. Jennifer Lawrence picked up her first US Vogue cover, A “full figured” (WWD‘s words!) Kate Upton will appear on ELLE, Jennifer Aniston on Glamour, and ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Nina Dobrev is the choice for Cosmopolitan. Eva Chen will make her debut as editor-in-chief of Lucky with Blake Lively, while Allure tapped Jennifer Garner. Zooey Deschanel is Marie Claire‘s September cover girl, Lily Collins is Seventeen‘s, and Rooney Mara will pose for T: The New York Times Style Magazine. Phew! That’s a lot of stars that aren’t Scandal‘s Kerry Washington! I’m a little disappointed at the lily-white casting for the September issues, but not at all surprised. • Jessica Simpson gave birth to her second child yesterday, Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson. This is her first son with fiance Eric Johnson— she currently has a 14-month-old daughter, Maxwell. A rep for Simpson says, “Mom and baby are doing great. Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition to their family.” Congratulations to The Simpson-Johnsons! (Us Weekly)


Kate Moss is back to designing, this time creating a range of tech accessories with Carphone Warehouse. The line, dubbed The Kate Moss Accessories Collection, will include cases, covers, and other do-dads for your smartphone and tablet. Kate herself seems pretty pleased with the results: “I was heavily involved in the design process and loved seeing my vision come to life in the final product. From the quality of materials to the design, I wanted the best for my range that reflected my personal style.” The line will launch this summer, and will be available at Carphone Warehouse stores and (Vogue UK)



• H&M is set to open their brand new 29,000 square foot store on Wednesday at 497-501 Fulton street in Brooklyn. This is the second location for the retailer in the borough, who has already set up shop at Kings Plaza shopping center. If you’re a BK resident with some time before work, head over to the new store on Wednesday… the first 250 people in line will get an H&M t-shirt and “Access to Fashion Pass” with values ranging from $10 to $300.
