The Fashion Bomb News Break Down-201-Kanye West Wears A Straitjacket On Stage, First Lady Michelle Obama Shoots For Vogue, and Riccardo Tisci Signs On For Three More Years At Givenchy
    • Leave it to Kanye West to keep things interesting! Leaving crystal masks behind, the rapper slipped on a straitjacket for a performance in Abu Dhabi. While he stood on stage virtually immobile, he made references to the innumerable times he’s been called “crazy.” This was his attempt to prove to all you naysayers that contrary to your belief, he isn’t a raving lunatic, he’s simply “not satisfied”. Hmmm…certainly strange, but several artists, including Nicki MinajB.o.B., and Busta Rhymes have sported similar jackets for performances. What do you think? (Huff Post)

    • Wait a minute! Could First Lady Michelle Obama be the real cover star for Vogue’s March 2013 issue? Although it was previously rumored Beyoncé would be covering the glossy, word on the web indicates it might actually be Mrs. O. New speculation arose yesterday, when a team from Vogue was seen carrying cameras into the White House. “The President’s public schedule is clear for the day, which could indicate he may be involved in the photography session” reports the Washingtonian. One previous bit of gossip seems to be holding true thus far: famed photographer Annie Leibovitz did snag the gig. You may remember Mrs. Obama previously landed on the March cover of Vogue back in 2009 sporting a look from Jason Wu. It will be interesting to see her choice of wardrobe this time around! Wu x 2? • Riccardo Tisci has extended his contract with Givenchy for another three years! It’s hard to deny the influence the designer has had in the fashion world while serving as the brand’s creative director. Givenchy has upped their cache during his tenure, proving their versatility while being spotted on A-list stars, Hip-Hop artists, and everyone in between. I’m personally glad he’ll be sticking around a little while longer. It’ll be great to see what offerings he’ll bring to the table in the next few years. (WWD)

    • Take a gander at Lanvin’s Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign video. In the clip we see creative director Alber Elbaz sharing his thoughts on the outcome. “Oh my God! It’s beautiful! I love the two bags,” he begins. “I like! I like it a lot. The perspective is just sick!” he carries on. I must say, it is in fact a beauty. (YouTube)
