The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: A.P.C.’s Jean Touitou Talks Kanye West Collab, Robin Givhan Joins The Cut, and Claire Danes (Or Her Homeland Character) Covers Vogue

• Kanye West‘s decidedly minimalist collection for A.P.C. has finally launched, after weeks of teasers and speculation. But what was it like working with Kanye?‘s Style File blog has the tea straight from the mouth of A.P.C. creative director Jean Touitou“I just love the guy, so whatever,” he said when asked if he and Yeezy had any “trepidation” working on this project together. “He could want a piece to be baggy and skinny at the same time… [but] oh well, you just find a way.” Uh… okay, so, I presume it wasn’t the ideal work situation? A source revealed to Four Pins fashion blog just how difficult it was for the company to collaborate with the nitpicky West: “It sounds like the most frustrating project [A.P.C.’s] worked on. [Kanye] wanted to make changes up to, and after, the last minute,” the source revealed. “Basically, Jean issued an ultimatum saying SOMETHING needed to be released or he wouldn’t work with him, so they compromised.” Who knew a small range of basic hoodies, tees, and jeans could be such a stressful endeavor! (Stylefile, Four Pins)

 • Socialite and entrepreneur Hannah Bronfman has no shortage of lucrative projects on her plate. Her most recent one is a collaboration with emerging label Kaelen; a nine-piece range boasting cropped tanks, as well as silken and jersey separates like leather-trimmed shorts and a combined jacket. Designer Kaelen Haworth says the collection reflects Bronfman’s ideal Coachella day-to-night wardrobe. “We were talking about Coachella and how the street style there is a bit depressing. It’s all cutoffs and flower crowns, which is cute and suited to the festival, but she didn’t really want to wear that,” she told Fashionista. “We created the capsule around her ideal: Coachella wardrobe for day and night…It was about taking a tailored approach, but making it breezier with fabrication and combinations.” Prices range from $200 for a cropped tank to $450 for the combined leather and jersey jacket. You can pre-order the collection now at Kaelen’s website. (Fashion Bomb Inbox, Fashionista)

• Tyra Banks‘s Fierce Capital investment is pouring funds into TheHunt, a shopping startup community that helps shoppers find out where to buy clothes featured in photos they see around the internet. Site members post pictures of items they can’t identify, and community members inform them where they can purchase said garments. “We are excited about The Hunt, our first fashion investment, because it truly sucks to discover a great style item but not be able to find and buy it,” Banks said. “The Hunt solves that fashion dilemma in a fun and innovative way.” (WWD)

• Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion critic Robin Givhan has picked up a new gig at New York Magazine‘s The Cut. Givhan will cover New York and Paris Fashion Week shows for the publication, writing mainly for the web. Can’t wait to read her reviews next season! (WWD)

• Claire Danes is Vogue‘s cover girl for August, and the accompanying spread has some people confused as to whether the shoot was of Danes, or her Homeland character Carrie Mathison. Her costar Damian Lewis also makes an appearance in some of the snaps, which, according to Fashionologie writer Justin Fenner“[makes] it look a little like photographer Annie Leibovitz showed up on the set with a camera and a rack of designer clothing.” You be the judge!  (Fashionologie)
