• The Fashion Bomb Guide to Fashion’s Night Out 2012 (Updated)

    Fashion Week is soon upon us, and while tickets to the Spring shows are only available to a select few, Fashion’s Night Out (September 6th), is open to the masses. FNO is an exciting time for most, a nuisance to some, and an opportunity to guzzle free booze to others.  I’m really only going out for the free prosecco, but for those of you looking for a fun, shopping filled night on the town, here are a few places to hit up during this year’s Fashion’s Night Out in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco:

    New York:

    Solange Knowles will be spinning at the DVF store at 874 Washington Street at W 14th. Allison Williams from Girls and Vogue‘s Melling Burke will be on hand, along with M.A.C artists for makeup touchups. 6-11PM

    Margherita Missoni will be on hand at Missoni‘s Madison avenue location. Meet the designer and buy special rings designed by the iconic Italian label to benefit Edode Onlus, a charity committed to bringing safe drinking water to African Villages. 1009 Madison ave at 78th street, 6-9PM

    Meet ex-Top Model judge Nigel Barker  and the Runway Relief models at Nine West located at  1258 avenue of the Americas and 50th street. Chrissy Teigen will also be on hand to help raise money for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. Catch the hoopla from 6-11PM.

    From 9- midnight, QVC is planning a live broadcast on FNO, complete with a smattering of celebrities (Isaac Mizrahi, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Richie) pedding their newest wares for the shopping channel. Have an “interactive experience” in the Meatpacking District at 14th and 9th ave starting at 6PM.

    Alexis Bittar is having a karaoke extravaganza at their SoHo store. Sing a tune and get a $50 store certificate good until the end of September. 6-10PM

    Azealia Banks will perform at M.A.C Cosmetics in NoHo 506 Broadway  bet Thompson and LaGuardia place. Enjoy tunes by DJ Cosmo from 7-10PM

    Former America’s Next Top Model photo shoot director Jay Mauel will be at Lane Bryant doling out fashion advice. Enjoy a 25% discount, a little booze, and snacks on snacks on snacks.     Pop by Noel New York at 313 Hancock Street in Brooklyn starting at 6pm for one-on-one hair consultations, a braid bar, an eye art bar, 5 minute manicures, food, drinks and fun! Get a gift bag with every purchase.

    Michael Kors will host a game of fashion trivia at Macy‘s Herald Square from 7-8:30

    Loehmann’s on 7th ave promises a celebrity fashion show, although they have not yet disclosed exactly which celebrities would be in attendance. Expect a designer sample sale in both New York and Los Angeles locations, featuring designs from Oscar de la RentaEtro, and more. In New York: 101 7th ave bet 16th and 17th and 2101 Broadway at 74th st. In Los Angeles: 333 South LaCienega Boulevard. 6-11PM.

    Mya will appear at Cesare Paciotti from 8-9PM.bet 69th and 70th. 8-9PM

    A smattering of celebrities will be at Lord & TaylorKim Kardashian (Kanye West?), Jill ZaraKristi Yamaguchi, and more will be in-store. Celebrate Project Runway‘s 10th anniversary  with appearances from the series noted alums. 6-11PM.

    Dwyane Wade will be at Calvin Klein at 654 Madison ave. 6-8PM.

    It’s ladies night at Alice + Olivia! The brand is hosting a girly slumber party. Get down to some ’80s tunes getcha hair did at the braid bar, much on some popcorn, and more.  In New York: 80 W 40th st bet 5th and 6th aves, 755 Madison ave bet 65th adn 66th 431 W 14th bet 9th and 10th.     Los Angeles:

    Beverly Center is chock full of FNO events, including two fashion shows featuring pieces from retailers like Forever 21, Diesel, Macy’s, Lacoste and More. Expect Kendall Jenner in the building. Located at 8500 Beverly Boulevard Suite 501. 6-11PM

    Hit up the Forever 21 at 8500 Beverly Boulevard Suite 835 The first 300 people to spend $40 or more will receive a set from their cosmetics brand, Love & Beauty. Also on the menu are drinks and nibbles. 6-10PM

    Helmut Lang says they will have live musical performances, as well as drinks and nibbles. 8382 Melrose Avenue. 6-11 PM

    Enjoy an in-store Spanish cava bar to the tunes of celebrity DJ at Zara. Take stylish polaroids for a chance to be featured on the brand’s website.  Farmer’s Market by The Grove 6333 West 3rd Street, and 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, 6-9PM

    Macy’s promises  celebrity spinner DJ Charisma and SkinnyGirl cocktails from 6-11PM.



    The 900 North Michigan avenue shops and Bloomingdale‘s team up for a night of fun fashion festivities. Take in a fashion show, Beauty Bazaar, and nibbles from Gastronomy by Groupon. Actress Ali Larter will be on hand, jamming to the tunes of a DJ. 6-9PM.

    Hop on over to Macy’s at 835 North Michigan avenue to meet the ladies from Chicago blog, The Girls of Lincoln Park from 6-7:30. For the rest of the night, enjoy refreshments, as well as braid, lash, and nail art bars. 6-8 PM.

    Macy’s at 11 North State Street will have a smattering of bloggers. Shae Peppler of Vanilla Fringe, Nikia Jefferson from ChiTownFashionista, and Hallie Wilson of Corals and Cognacs will be on hand. Shop the bloggers’s closets, and let them give you styling and wardrobe advice. Fashion Star alum Nzimiro Oputa hosts from 6-7PM. From 6-7:30 FNO teams up with the Chicago Fashion Incubator for a trunk show featuring pieces from Chicago’s up and coming designers. Meet Aviva Dresher from The Real Housewives of New York on Macy’s third floor Impulse boutique from 7-8PM. And for the foodies, there will be a culinary demonstration from 7-8 by Macy’s executive chef Brad Saylor.

    Moncler‘s chicago boutique will be selling vintage ad-inspired limited edition shirts to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. Expect drinks and refreshments. 33 East Oak street, 6-10PM.

    Topshop at 830 North Michigan ave will be celebrating FNO from 6-10pm with local DJ’s and a fashion raffle. Enjoy styling from Vogue’s team cool nail art and makeovers.

    Neiman Marcus at 737 North Michigan avenue will have a fashion show on their 4th floor from 7-8PM hosted by House of Consignment‘s Corri McFadden. From 6-8 Enjoy food tasting compliments of RPM, Paris Club, Rosebud on Rush, Ai Japanese Restaurant, and more. Factor Runway will also hold a model search from 6-8PM.



    Brilliance New York at 631 Lincoln Road promises mini makeovers along with cocktails and refreshments. 6-11 PM.

    San Francisco:

    Macy’s at 170 O’Farrell street is planning quite a night. Peruse the wares of local designers on behalf of Fashion Incubator from 6-7:30. Meet Fashion Star alum Ronnie Escalante from 6-7:30. The Bold Italic magazine will be on hand for fashion closet styling. Macy’s will also offer a DIY nail bar hosted by local nail polish makers Parris and Kiri, hairstyling bar, and denim remix workshop with Holy Stitch! 6-11PM.

    Bloomingdale’s at 845 Market street has a big night planned. Enjoy complimentary makeovers from 6-9PM. From 6-8 meet the local behind Britt + Whit, who will hold a Q&A at  6:30 (call 415.856.5479 to reserve a spot) and show you fall’s hottest handbag trends.

    Check in on Foursquare at Kenneth Cole to receive a complimentary tote. The first 20 people to check in will win a tote signed by Mr. Cole himself. Nibble on refreshments, sip on cocktails, and win a chance to win a $1000 gift card to the store. Located at 865 Market Street Space #136. 6-11PM.

    Washington, DC:

    Neiman Marcus is having a fall fashion trend runway show from 7-7:30. Get your makeup done at the Tom Ford Beauty Bar when you’re finished stuffing your face with sweets from the Cupcake Bar.     The Adams Morgan section of DC invites you to enjoy sidewalk shopping, live DJ, and of course refreshments. The U Street Corridor and H Street both promise similar events.
