As you may know, I moved to a new place in January, and have been busying myself decorating it to my personal taste (I’ve been recording most of it on TheBombLife.com. Check it out!)! So when HomeGoods asked me and two other bloggers to design rooms that reflected our style, I jumped at the opportunity!
Not familiar with HomeGoods? It’s a decorator’s wonderland, chock full of quality furniture, rugs, towels, and more, at up to 60% off retail prices. I visited the brand’s location in Brooklyn at 2201 Nostrand Ave and busied myself plucking items to create a sumptuous, luxurious bedroom. I ultimately created a space that fit my home identity and mirrored my office/closet space in my apartment.
Though I wear a slew of colors on the day to day, I like black, white, and gold for the home. The hues are classic, so can go with anything. The gold adds a glamorous touch.
I’m also really into textures! So I incorporated lots of faux fur from the rugs to the blankets to the jazzy throw pillows on the bed.
I wanted the room to scream, “Claire!”, so I scored a golden C to enliven the environ. I also spent two years in Paris as some of you may know, so found artwork to reflect my time abroad (Random aside: my mom is quite the artiste, and made the gray sculpture. I was easily able to incorporate items I already owned into my new space).
And what fashion lover doesn’t love mirrors (gotta make sure you’re looking right!). I found everything from mirrored dressers to side tables and lamps at HomeGoods.
There you have it!
What do you think of my design skills?
And how do you #MakeHomeYours?
