So reader Lauren recently wrote in saying, “I was wondering if you could help me! I’m moving into Syracuse University next Wednesday and I want to look fashionably cute and still be able to move things into my room. Keep in mind I’m a broke college student! And I’m sure there are other fashionable students that have the same question.”

I’m sure there are too! For today’s Style Inspiration, I took a cue from Bad Girl Cassie who chose a close fit graphic t-shirt, jeans, bright colored sneakers, and a statement bag for a casual outing.

She added large hoop earrings and bright nail polish as fun accents:
The look is cute yet casual–great for lugging those boxes into your dorm room! Swap out your jeans for shorts if it’s hot where you are, or slip on a sweatshirt if it’s chilly:

For a Jamaican or any Caribbean Day Parade, it’s important to show your spirit for whatever island you’re representing without looking like you’re part of the actual parade! Wear an outfit that picks up on the flag colors of your choice, or opt for subtlety by wearing a neutral outfit punched up by bold, flag-colored accessories:


Take advantage of the last few official days to wear white before Labor Day and offset an all white look with yellow or green sandals, a bold bracelet, and a statement bag whose colors pick up on the accents of your outfit:

Today’s Style Inspiration mixes masculine and feminine elements for a chic, easy look:

Slip on a menswear inspired button down and suspenders, but make the look resolutely feminine by adding studded shoes, a leopard purse, and a bright red lip. Though the items above are pricey, you can achieve a similar look by attaching an affordable pair of suspenders to your everyday black pants, slipping on any white shirt in your wardrobe, then vamping it up in black heels. So  the 4th of July is this Sunday! What are you guys doing?

I’m throwing a picnic, so will most likely be keeping it casual in denim shorts and flat sandals. Whatever you plan on–from fancy boat parties to chill cookouts–we’ve got you covered with these fun options:
