Salute to another Monday, Bombers and Bombshells!
Did you catch the “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview with the Houstons? Such a beautiful interview. I STILL can’t believe Whitney is gone. *sigh*

Anyway, let’s see who was spotted this weekend…
Just when you thought Rihanna went back to her raven-haired “Good Girl Gone Bad” days, she flips the script and shows up in NYC rocking blonde locks again. She rocked a super simple all-black outfit accessorized with a Fendi backpack. I like it! It’s kind of Jay-Z-ish in a way, but give me a jacket with a leather sleeve and I’m on board.

Jordin Sparks kicked it with Minnie Mouse at a “Disney’s Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and Essence Magazine” event at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. She looked super svelte in a ruched halter dress, topped off by nude patent peep toes. Hot!
Then over at a SXSW event, cutey Gabrielle Union showed up in an ill-fitting jumpsuit. Actually, I take that back. Upon further inspection, it may not be so ill-fitting, but it is a little odd. I do appreciate the plunging neckline but the drop-waist and tapered legs aren’t so nice. And since the color scheme is so neutral, I would have loved to see Gabby rock a bolder lip color. Hmm….
Then at the 3rd Annual DVF Awards…

Oprah Winfrey dazzled in a teal DVF wrap dress and matching shadow. Normally matching shadow and outfit looks are quite Hmm-ish, but Lady O worked it since the eyeshadow is just a punch of color and not a full-on wash on the lid.
Gotta love the way a wrap dress suits the girls and curves and flatters all other body types, too. Hot!
Jessica Alba was also in attendance in a blush hued long-sleeved shift. I like the dress but feel the heavy tights and suede shoes sort of weigh it down. This dress would’ve rocked with nude hose (or bare legs) and beige pumps, but maybe she was cold. Hey, it was kind of warmer than usual in NYC these last few days. *shrugs*
Hair and makeup are on point though. LOVE the brow and luminated cheeks.
Phaedra Parks was seen at The Black Women Film Network event looking like a 1991 Essence magazine editorial. I kid. I love me some Miss Phaedra, but the outfit and hair do look dated, right? Makeup is nice though.
Vanessa Williams, who apparently has not aged in the last decade, attended an HIV/AIDS Awareness Day function in D.C. I love the turquoise dress on her, but shiny materials can be tough to pull-off especially in photos—it looks like it could use an extra dose of steaming though I’m sure it was fine in person. Hey, can’t win ‘em all.
And finally Estelle (whose “Thank You” song has been on constant repeat on my iPhone) stopped by the Didier Drogba Foundation Charity Ball in London. Totally digging this look—cape and all. Honey’s skin is glazed to the heavens and she’s working this short cut and red lip like no other. Hot!
And that’s that, folks. Short and sweet. Which look is your favorite this week?
