• Because everyone makes fun of him anyway, Drake doesn’t care if you make fun of his sweaters.

The rapper tells GQ: “I don’t give a f*** what anybody says about my Missoni sweaters! F*** you, if you don’t like my sweater! It’s funny because people only talk about me and sweaters because I don’t give them anything else to talk about,” “…I live in Canada, so any dirt I do you’ll never see because we don’t have the paparazzi up there! It’s the stupidest thing, man, but I’ll embrace it.” The artist formerly known as Wheelchair Jimmy added, “Hopefully Missoni hollers at me and we get a sweater line popping,” adding to the slew of celebrity collaborations where the person of note does little to no actual designing. Just what we need! (GQ)
• The New York Daily News planned to run a photo feature picturing regular New York City women modeling looks from the Versace x H&M collaboration, before being thwarted by the H&M powers-that-be. A rep for the retailer reportedly said the feature would never be accepted by Versace, since “Donatella [would] likely not approve shooting the collection on real women.” Indeed, Ms. Versace did not approve the spread, and the whole feature had to be scrapped as the models didn’t “fit [Versace’s] branding.” Maybe Donatella should have thought about this before going through with a collaboration with a store that primarily dresses people who don’t fit her branding. • Mike “The Situation” is caught in another battle with Abercrombie & Fitch. Months after the retailer offered him money to stop wearing their clothes, the reality star is suing the company for infringing upon his brand, printing t-shirts with slogans like “The Fitchuation” and “GTL… you know the deal.” Bewildering as this is, what do you expect from a clothing store whose Quarterly Catalog features little actual clothing? H&M continues their fantastic collaborations, this time with Italian brand Versace:

Picture this: bold colors, luxurious prints, saucy shapes…I. can’t. wait!
The newest collaboration will hit stores November 17th. According to the Huffington Post, “The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses featuring studded leather, silk and colorful print, with accessories including high heels and costume jewelery. The men’s collection will focus on sharp tailoring, including ‘the perfect tuxedo’, as well as belts and jewelery, while for the first time in a designer collaboration at H&M, the collection will include some homeware pieces, including cushions and a bedspread.” Squeal!

In a statement, Donatella Versace said, “I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching their wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere.”

Hey Bombers and Bombshells!
I’m back from the sound and the fury that was the Lanvin x H&M collection here in Atlanta! There wasn’t a huge crowd down at Atlantic Station, so I was optimistic that I’d be able to purchase the faux fur jacket and leopard print heels I’d been eyeing since I first saw the full collection a few weeks ago. After waking up early and waiting in the cold for almost two hours, I didn’t have much luck, even though I was part of the second group let in.
But let’s start at the beginning.
I woke up at 5am this morning, put on some comfortable shoes, and hit the road. Though I initially thought stores opened at 10am, Danielle thankfully alerted me last night that the store had special extended hours and would open at 8. I arrived at 6:30am and was relieved to see there weren’t too many people in line.
With time to kill, I decided to interview a few peeps.
My first subject was Damalia who looked nice and warm in a down comforter and sweats:
She didn’t call herself a Lanvin fan per se, but she said she saw the collection on her H&M application on her Iphone, and fell in love with a few looks. She explained away her early wake up time by saying, “I’m used to getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning for work anyway.” She had a skirt, shoes, a fur vest, and bracelets on her wishlist.
I next talked to Nancy, Angela, and Catie (who actually reads the Fashion Bomb!)
These three had driven two hours from Birmingham, Alabama to partake in the festivities. Fashion devotees Nancy and Catie showed up mainly for the shoes, though both loved the purple and yellow one shoulder dresses. Angela, good friend that she is, was there for moral support.
My other linemates were Tevin and Tyrone, juniors at Clark Atlanta University:
Ty is a fashion designer, and Tevin is a buyer. They pulled an all nighter studying for an exam, and decided to pop up for the men’s collection. They both wanted to add blazers in cream and black and brown lace up shoes to their style arsenals.
After, H&M employees graciously served a breakfast of muffins and orange juice:
Then we were given our wristbands.

I thought myself lucky to be in the second group of shoppers, who would be able to browse the collection from 8:20-8:35.
Doors opened like clockwork at 8am, and everyone was let inside. A security guard protected the collection, which was partitioned off in a super duper tiny area:
I watched with a heavy heart as I saw my fur fly off the shelves. I was left to stare at one lonely option from outside the barricade.
By the time my group was left in, there was barely anything there. No faux fur. Hardly any shoes. And there were plenty of dresses, but it seemed the biggest size was a 6. I dejectedly picked up a few tees and brought them to the dressing room.
This shirt was $40 and très cute. It captured the essence of the collection and…it fit.
I wasn’t initially sold on this option, but figured I’d get lots of use out of it. Besides, we all know how I feel about t-shirts.
As I came out of the fitting room, I saw a few furs sitting around. I asked the sizes, and they were a 4 and a 6! I’m at least a 10, so those wouldn’t have worked for me.
All in all, I was disappointed in the lack of larger sizes. I asked an H&M employee (and Fashion Bomb reader) if they even stocked the faux fur coat I wanted in a 10 or 12. She said they didn’t, and the only sizes they received were for ‘little people who don’t eat‘ (her words, not mine!)
If this is true, it seems strange. Alber Elbaz, who designs for Lanvin, is known for being one of the…rounder designers, and once told the New Yorker, “I am overweight, so I am very, very aware of what to show and what not to show, and I am sure there is a huge link with being an overweight designer and the work I do. My fantasy is to be skinny.”
Perhaps it was his fantasy as well that the masses of people who bought his collection for H&M would be skinny too?
At any rate, this was just my perception from the Atlantic Station store in Atlanta. Perhaps since we’re a smaller city, they just didn’t have enough stock. Period. Who knows, maybe a bunch of size 10 or 12 girls were in the first heat and took everything. It’s possible.
In the end, I’m happy with my purchases…and on the bright side, I didn’t spend a ton. That’s always good news.
Tell me about your experiences and what you bought!
Smootches!
H&M is expecting a considerable crowd for their Lanvin collection, which hits US stores this Saturday, November 20th, and the rest of the world November 23rd.
In preparation, they’ve prepared a guide to shop for the collection:
They say:
H&M is launching Lanvin for H&M November 20th. Since the collection is in very high demand, we’re expecting a crowd.
What do I do if I arrive before opening hours?
If there is a line, please wait in line, and H&M store staff will inform you on how to shop.
How does the queuing system work?
The first 320 in line will receive one of 16 different colored bracelets, 20 people for each bracelet color; on the bracelet you will be given a specific time for shopping in our designated area. The bracelets are only needed for the women’s collection. Customers buying the men’s collection will not require a bracelet.
When your time slot arrives, you will enter the designated area to shop for 15 minutes. Our goal is to create a better shopping experience for our customers.
If you are not one of the first 320 in line, you will of course have the opportunity to shop from the rest of the collection or within H&M. When the 16 groups have finished their shopping, we will also open up a designated area for all our customers.
To make sure as many customers as possible are able to buy the collection, we have a shopping limit. Every customer can buy from the entire collection, but with a limit of purchasing two pieces per product i.e. not more than two sizes (shoes/garments) or pieces (accessories) per product per customer. The shopping limit covers the entire Lanvin for H&M collection. Your place in line does not guarantee any items from the Lanvin for H&M collection.
Read the original here (click on How to Shop).
They’ve also released which US stores will carry the collection:

This is going to be a fashion fiasco, I can feel it. Still, I must go!
I’ve already whittled my wish list down to the leopard pumps, two dresses in black and yellow, and (maybe) a faux fur. Hope I don’t have to throw bows to get it!
What about you guys? Are you as excited as I am?
