Since we received a couple “What to Wear” emails for Miami, we decided it would be best to combine both inquiries into one post.
First, Justine writes, “Hello Fashion Bomb Daily, I am a daily reader and almost obsessed with your site. I am sending in this “What to Wear” request for an outfit for the day and night of my birthday which I am celebrating in Miami in August. On that day I plan on hitting the beach and I want you guys advice on maybe a hot bathing suit and cover up for the beach. An outfit for the day and an outfit for a night out in Miami I’m probably going to Dinner and maybe to a club. I’d really appreciate your advice and hope that my request is different due to the location and bathing suit request. Thanks in Advance.!!”
Then, Mi writes, “I am going to a movie premiere in Miami in a couple weeks and have no
idea what to wear!! Please help!! Thanks!!”
When I think of Miami, I think of colors, prints, a lot of skin, and fun. I’ve tried to incorporate some of these things into each selection.
Day at the Beach-This Agent Provocateur braided cutout bathing suit is a beauty. The details make this eye-catching, and perfect for the birthday girl. It’s even hotter once you put it on. Not your style? I’ve also included a ton of other options below.
If showing all that skin isn’t exactly your thing, you can always throw on this Matthew Williamson caftan that I am in love with. Finish your beach look with a Tory Burch straw tote and a pair of flip-flops. Oh, and what would a day spent lying in the sand be without sunglasses?
Birthday Dinner/Club-For the nighttime, we are going to go glam and sexy. This Fuchsia DSquared2 number is hot, and offers a perfect opportunity to show off those gorgeous gams.
I’ve included two earrings, an aqua pair from Alexis Bittar, and one yellow from Kendra Scott. Both compliment the dress well. The Stuart Weitzman colorblocked sandals work wonderfully with the other elements of the look, including the Rebecca Minkoff clutch. Considering the fact that there are already a lot of colors here, I would recommend a neutral manicure.
Movie Premiere– For the movie premiere I went for a hemline that is a tad bit longer. This blue Roberto Cavalli floral stunner is ideal. The color and printed fabric work well together without being too loud.
I kept the accessories pretty much toned down, limiting the options to a vintage bracelet from Givenchy, black diamond earrings with choice of a neon pair from Asos. I know a lot of you aren’t a fan of white shoes, but these Miu Miu platform sandals are almost impossible to hate. How can you hate anything Miu Miu? Finally, head out with a pink Dior mani, and silver clutch.
Have fun, ladies! I’ll be trying to head to the beach this weekend as well!
