Happy Friday!
Last night I headed out to dinner in Tribeca, but took a slight detour beforehand to catch the sunset by the Pier. For a crisp autumn day, I decided to hop on the cape trend by throwing a Via Spiga Asymmetrical Cape over an Elizabeth & James button down and Seven for all Mankind Jeggings (adding a belt for definition):

I topped the simple fall look with my favorite new acquisition: a Rag & Bone Floppy Brim Wool Fedora.

Sure black and black can be a bit boring, so I accented the look with a vintage snakeskin oversized clutch and a touch of Ruby Woo lipstick:

I also added just a bit of sparkle with a pair of Bling Hoops from Shop Loveys

Along with a Kenneth Jay Lane leopard ring, bling bangles, and a metallic mani from Polish Bar of Brooklyn:

And there you have it:

What do you think?

Outfit Deets: Asymmetrical Cape, Via Spiga. Fedora, Rag & Bone. Shirt, Elizabeth & James. Jeggings, Seven for All Mankind. Boots, Joan & David. Purse, Vintage. Hoops, Shop Loveys.

  1. Hi Claire,

As usual you look great! I have that cape, I purchased it during Nordstrom’s anniversary sale.

  2. Claire, you look fantastic! I love every single piece of your ensemble. That cape and the fedora are a fabulous touch; and I really like your metallic mani and the ring.

  3. I love this look! When I see a black hat, a cape and boots I think: ZORRO! haha, all you need is the eye mask and a sword! guess you can find fashion inspiration from anywhere and anyone (I mean, if the pirate or gladiator look can be de mode…)!

  4. @TicaPica I was afraid I was looking too much like Sherlock Holmes! LOL
@Everyone thank ya, as always, for being so kind.

  5. Lovely Claire!

SN:…I think I may be too short for a cape…. so I dont know how I could make that work, but I love the look!

  6. I was just thinking about finding a brimmed fedora to wear to some of my alma mater’s homecoming festivities too! I love it!

  7. haha! sherlock holmes rocks! Makes me wonder if Men’s cape coats could be the next big thing…yay or nay?
I have from my Nan, a dark blue wool cape with a tartan lining, which I only ever wear to go for long walks in the woods/rambling

  8. Girl, you look super-fly!! I’m a hat lover so that fedora your rockin’ is like the icing on that sweet cake ( you’re outfit!). I’m so lovin’ you’r style!!!!!!!!

  9. Not sure who this @Claire imposter is leaving comments as me (hilarious!!) but the boots are by Joan & David, I got them last season at Macy’s. Thanks everyone again. I plan on wearing my hat constantly.

  10. hmmm, too many accessories and the boots are a bit chunky, the hat and the earrings are a bit much! the shirt, leggings an open belt-less cape would’ve been better :) A for effort though!

  11. You look great Claire! Love every single piece individually and the way you put it all together. Just curious, how tall are you? You look really tall in the 2nd pic.

  12. Oh-Ma-Gahh… you look great. that lipstick, really? love it!
