  1. I’m torn with this spread.

While I love the images for their artistry and think Naomi did a fantastic job (as usual) I don’t see why Black people always have to be animalized and locked into a state of primitiveness.

Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn (sisters who are lighter than Naomi) are used to represent genteelity but when they need someone to represent the animal within they drag out Naomi Campbell?

I’m offended but what is implied and impressed by the images. Dilemma.

  2. I LOVE Naomi! To me the pictures say strong and independent. She’s got so much range; she was perfect for this spread.

  3. I’m usually sentitive to animal print associations with black models but this to me give a mad max theme in africa. Its like she is some kinda crazy superhero and her crazy expression with the gator/croc is priceless. Looks like she’s gonna wrestle him no fear crocodile dundee style.

    CRAZY!

  4. TOOOOOO FIERCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!! SHE DOES NO WRONG WHEN IT COMES TO MODELLING!!!!

  5. Why do black people think everything is racist. These pictures are beautiful. They show her having fun taking very great pictures with animals. Which I am a black woman who loves animals. I would love to take a picture with a lion. Come on black people make sense when you make comments about something being racial. That is really starting to get on people’s nerves!!

  6. I think that it depends on how you interpret the pictures. I love how they look. Mostly because I love fashion and Naomi, but it’s HARD to put it out of my mind that because Naomi is darker skinned she has to always play the “wild side” of things. Even though I’m really not trying to think like that, but hey cant help it.
