Show Review: Zac Posen Spring 2013

Vintage influences permeated every part of Zac Posen’s Spring 2013 fashion show, from the supermodels on the catwalk to the silhouettes and vibe of the designs. Naomi Campbell opened the show, showing that Posen meant business and intended for women who wear his creations to be confident, beautiful, and most of all fierce.

Zac Posen has always gone the elegant and sophisticated route in a world full of spikes, studs, and edgy leather designs. He intended to make the old new again for Spring with pleated pant and skirt suits, flirty chiffon knee-length dresses, sweetheart necklines, and boning for the ultimate in curve accentuation. Shala Monroque is sure to hang a few of these up in her closet.

Then came the gowns…and my were they breathtaking! From Jeneil Williams in a strapless chartreuse number to Alek Wek in a navy design with multicolor embroidery, some very lucky celebrities will look impossibly beautiful on the red carpet in the months to come.

Some of my favorite moments were Arlenis Sosa’s red and cream flutter-sleeve gown, the larger-than-life floral tulle frock worn by Ming Xi, and Coca Rocha’s ivory tiered design, which will surely be worn by some lucky and very wealthy bride.

What do you think of Zac Posen’s latest collection?
