Show Review : Hervé Léger by Max Azria Fall 2010 Ready to Wear

If the BCBG Max Azria show skewed towards uninspiring and boring, it was most likely because designers Lubov and Max Azria were saving the sauce for Hervé Léger. It seemed impossible that the pair could push the overdone bandage dress to another level, but they did, and the results were fabulous.

Uniform bands were cut, tugged, and twisted into a myriad of styles and colorways that still referenced Leger’s past while going confidently into the future. Alluring cut outs and mesh inserts rested against the typical lycra to create dresses that were still endlessly sexy, yet not instantly identifiable as the run-of-the-mill red carpet and club favorites:

As with the BCBG collection, designers kept the colors subtle, only playing with nudes, whites, and blacks:

Thankfully the design triumphed and pushed the boundaries of creativity.

The pair even added flattering streamlined pants and jackets to their repertoire.

Hervé Léger is here to stay and is getting hotter by the season.
