Show Review: Gucci Spring 2012

I was on a Lufthansa flight from London when the Gucci Spring 2012 show took place, but that didn’t stop me from checking out the brand’s latest offerings via their Twitter feed. Graphic green, burnt orange, gold, black, and white were the call for Spring, with kelly green tuxedo inspired blazers topping form skimming pants and sandals dipped in gold.

Drop waist dresses in sheer and color blocked combinations swished beside an onslaught of blazer and pants outfits, brought to life by gilded designs and the occasional zebra print.

Gucci’s Spring 2011 collection was a certified hit amongst Bombshells like Kerry Washington, Chanel Iman, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian. For Spring 2012, I could see any of those beauties wearing the scintillating tops, lace up hem trousers, and select beaded cocktails:

Frida Giannini definitely reined in the color to create a more classic selection; perfect for the stylista who needs just a few key pieces to update her existing expansive wardrobe. Besides, sometimes a girl doesn’t need more than a little black, white, and gold.

What do you think?
