On Saturday evening, Hollywood was all abuzz as the stars stepped out in support of Mrs. Tina Knowles- Lawson, and husband Richard Lawson’s Wearable Art Gala.  With the California African American Museum set as the backdrop for the auspicious occasion, quite a handful of our favorite celebs stepped out in outfits celebrating art and creativity.  Let’s take a look at who shined for this star-studded event!

The hosts, Richard and Tina Lawson posed for cameras while sharing a warm embrace.  Mama Tina wore a strapless, mermaid gown crafted with an abundance of leaves, while Richard donned a black and red sequined blazer.  So cute, these two!

Of course, Beyoncé was there.  Though she didn’t walk the carpet, the soon to be mother of twins looked stunning in this shot while inside.  Queen Bey wore a lovely red Stello ‘Aurora’ gown and an ornate headpiece laden with flowers and butterflies.  She looks regal, doesn’t she?Not too far behind, and keeping a low profile, was Jay-Z, clad in a sleek Gucci fall 2016 powder blue suit.  The man looks sharp everytime.Solange was her artistic, radiant self in a deep plum Issey Miyake construction.  Minimal makeup and white boots completed her look.

Kelly Rowland channelled Blue Ivy’s  2016 VMA look in this frothy, lavender Monsoori gown.  Lorraine Schwartz jewels, a Gebede clutch and Buscemi sneakers tied Kelly’s fun ensemble together.  And can we take one second to get into that lavender wig to match? Kelly made the night even more special when she posed with the incomparable, outspoken U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 43rd disctrict and member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Maxine Waters.  When she’s not defending the rights of African Americans and speaking boldly against the current presidency, she’s down for a good party.Michelle Williams was in the building, looking lovely in a beautifully embellished Esé Azénabor couture column gown.  Sleek hair, subtle smokey eye and dazzling earrings do Michelle so much justice.June Ambrose came through to celebrate, wearing a fuschia Christian Siriano prefall 2016 gown.  Extravagant bell sleeves and a dramatic bow tie into the affair so well, no?
Singers and sisters, Chloe x Halle posed in pleated, metallic numbers for the night’s soirée.Empire star and recording artist, Serayah, was a doll in a rose gold embellished empire waist gown and fringed coat by Jenny Packham.  Loved her hair and soft, glowy makeup.Meagan Good also showed her support, stunning in an emerald colored gown accented with navy lace detailing at the bust.Draya Michele was on tap for the evening’s festivities as well, wearing a light pink halter gown.  Her hair and makeup were beautiful, though I wish there was a little more drama somewhere in the look considering the event’s theme.
Bianca Lawson made certain she came prepared in a gorgeous navy and silver brocade gown, replete with  three dimensional butterflies affixed about the bust and ruffle of the skirt.  So creative!Actress Tasha Smith brought a little fever to Instagram before hitting up the Wearable Art Gala, posing in her doorway while wearing a sexy black lace bardot dress by Valdrin Sahiti.  Slay, Tasha! And last, but certainly not least, are EJ Johnson, his mother Cookie, and father, the legendary ‘Magic’ Johnson.  The family posed for pics pre-gala……but of course, EJ needs a red carpet moment all to himself.  What better way to show off that fabulous Gucci resort 2017 jacket?
Looks like fun times were definitely had by all.  Who were your favorites?
